About this product
In writing Crush Crusher, Jilian Medford committed herself to exploring her own issues with self-image, self-respect/worth, and the responsibility she has felt to others. Album opener InchHidingInch was one of the first songs she wrote for the record while living in a frigid Brooklyn apartment during a winter break amidst her grueling tour schedule. In the song, Medford reflects on an interpersonal relationship that fell apart because of an inability to feel supreme comfort in sharing all the pieces of herself with someone. Nevertheless, a hopeful demeanor shines through on InchHidingInch and in her writing across the album, with lyrics that embrace life's hurdles and make them feel a little less scary. Album Tracks 1. Hiding 2. Spit 3. Holographic Jesus 4. Bug Museum 5. Question It 6. Crush Crusher 7. Falling Fruit 8. Borrowed Body 9. Ugly/Bored 10. Your Arms Are Water

On Ian Sweet's upcoming full-length album, SUCKER, creative mastermind Jilian Medford delivers the strongest and most personal batch of songs she's ever written - brimming with despair, vulnerability, and remorse. InchI'm a sucker for the pain and the heartbreak,Inch she sings on standout InchSUCKER,Inch which features woozy synth lines and droney guitar work that touches on themes of uncertainty. Recorded at The Outlier Inn, nestled in New York state's southern Catskill mountains, and mixed by Al Carlson (St. Vincent, Weyes Blood, Jessica Pratt), the album showcases Medford's ability to craft beautiful pop songs that tug at your heartstrings while at the same time, busting wide open with layers of rich synths and overblown guitars. These songs are full of heartache and longing - a sadness Medford addresses head-on in what is undeniably her best album to date. Ian Sweet's music has been streamed millions of times worldwide and has been featured in publications such as FADER, Stereogum, New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork, who included her last full-length album, Show Me How You Disappear, in their Best Rock Albums of 2021 list and profiled Medford in a 2021 Rising feature.
