This is not a "full" 5.25 adapter. It doesn't have the full size of a 5.25 device nor does it have all of the mounting points of a full size 5.25 device. Its does not work in various drive bay's, and will not work in some cases which utilize 5.25" mounting points this adapter does not have. As long as you understand it is an "adapter TRAY", you should be fine. Just need to know it isn't a full adapter.

As others have noted, there are few mounting hole options, but I was lucky in that they were ok for the tray mount in my Optiplex 760 desktop - i.e. 2 of 4 inside pegs on the tray fitting (tightly) into tray side holes are adequate to hold such a lightweight drive. My issue was that the Optiplex tray bracket includes a fan that blows up at the bottom of the drive, which is good for a full-size HDD, but not so important for an SSD (I think). Still, I wanted the fan to be unimpeded by the solid bottom surface of the Insignia adapter tray, so I ended up drilling several 3/8" holes to allow that. Might be good for longer life of SSD, and should not hurt it. See attached pics.

Not much to say. It's a piece of metal that allows you to install an SSD or laptop HDD in a full size computer. I bought it to use with an SSD I purchased. Once I removed the harness and figured out the right direction to mount it, it was fairly simple, and did the trick. (Much better than just leaving the drive hanging loose inside :o) )

I bought this SSD Mount to use my Samsung Evo 850 on my desktop computer. It was easy to install and works as advertised. The price was good and the store pickup I used was easy.. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to use a 2.5 inch hard drive on a desktop PC.

I used this to install a 500Gb SSD into my tower PC. All the holes lined up perfectly with these and the tower. It came with all the necessary screws.

Bought to use in an 07 iMac. The SSD attached like it should with no issues. However, with the application that I needed it for, it didn't work flawlessly. In my iMac it comes with some brackets to attach to a standard mechanical hard drive, but the side hole placement is not in the same spot. After some "modification" I was able to make it work for my need. It was not a quick and simple attach and go for my application, but could easily be in another. Still a good product and very useful. I would buy again if needed.

It’s a mounting bracket that does the job. Fits well, holds the ssd securely and costs less than others. Happy with it.

This item has a place to mount an SSD to it, then it can be mounted into a 3.5" drive bay. All needed screws are included. It worked great for me installing the drive internal to the case.. I don't know if it would work for an HDD slot where the drive just slides in, as some PCs have. I do not know if an SSD mounted in this plate has its connectors in the same physical location that those of a 3.5" HDD are.

Not much to say, it held a laptop SSD in a desktop perfectly. Came with whatever I needed to install it. My desktop is older and didn't have anywhere to mount a SSD drive so I needed this to mount it in a regular drive space. If you have a newer desktop or newer case you may want to check to see if you need this.

I had to mount this in my pre built HP Pavilion desktop. It doesn't have that many screw holes for the cage attachment. I turned it around and was able to mount it without an issue. It does fit the SSD holes perfectly. Other than that it is pretty basic and worth the money if you are switching to an SSD.

I needed a more secure method to mount my internal SSD and this Insignia mount is perfect. Before purchasing this mount, I previously screwed my SSD directly to an internal tray, which worked okay, but not that secure. This mount looks and works perfectly.

It's a mount for a SSD drive. If your computer breaks after installing this item with a drive attached, we'll, you should probably never open a desktop again. You simply screw your SSD onto the mount, then install the mounted drive into your case just like a standard HD.

Made switching to the SSD drive system easy. My system is a few years old, but is still an awesome work horse. My recent upgrade included switching from SATA drives to SSD and this mount fit my internal rack perfectly.

Quick and easy to use. Fits standard SSD drives, took about 2-3 minutes to install the harddrive and then install the SSD drive into my computer. Only bad thing is screws are small, probably would have had it done sooner if I didnt have to go look for the screw that I dropped.

So this is a SSD mount for upgrading a HDD to SSD mainly in desktop computers. Desktop computers are typically designed to fit 3.5mm Hard drives so if your upgrading to a SSD you will need this. It comes with all necessary hardware for easy install.
