I love this speaker, probly one of the best I've had so far , good quality sounds, awsome bass, and for the size it's pretty loud, overall I would recommend to anyone

This box is the TRUTH. The bass, the sound is real good. Needs a hookup for a strap but hey I jams the whole break room at lunch.

Is very loud and the sound quality es great for the price

Like others have said I would have liked there to be a answer button for the phone and as well a volume indicator. Other than these two items I think this is a very good quality speaker. Worth clearance price of $35. Not full price.

First off, the 4/5 star rating I give this speaker is based on the current price of $30.99. At the regular price of $100 it would be a 3 star rating. This is a fairly large speaker and rather heavy. Probably not the speaker you want to lug around if you will be carrying it a lot. I've included a picture of this Insignia speaker next to the LG PK5 and Sony XB32, both of which are considered medium sized. The red speaker in the pic is the LG PH4, which is roughly the same size as the JBL Flip4. Positives: + Waterproof and will float if dropped in water. + Overall good bass output, with bass boost option. + Good battery life. + Has a USB input to charge external devices. + Storage compartment on left side to store small items or cable. Negatives: - Overall sound is a bit muddy and lacks clarity. - Heavy and bulky design. - Overall maximum volume not very loud relative to the speaker size. - Must use the proprietary charging cable/brick. - No indication by sound or light when at max volume. - Cannot use two or more of these speakers together to play at the same time. More regarding the size of this speaker. This Insignia is a bit larger than the JBL Extreme 2 and a bit smaller than the JBL Boombox. Both of those speakers are far more expensive, but do offer better overall sound quality. Sound wise, the Insignia lacks a bit in the mids and the upper range lacks detail and clarity. In speaker terms, this would be considered a warmer sound signature. I would recommend a good custom EQ app to tailor the sound better. Bass is good, but can be a bit muddy. I found the bass acceptable as is, but enabling the bass boost made it sound sloppy and at higher volume, distorted and over exaggerated. Overall volume level is actually a little less than the much smaller Sony XB32 I also own. This speaker's strength is for use outdoors at the pool, at the lake or ocean. With the IPX7 rating you don't have to worry about it getting wet. Indoors it's a good speaker for some applications, but I would keep it away from walls or boundaries, as that will reinforce the bass output and make it sound muddy.

My job allows me to have music. And my little Bluetooth speaker wasn’t cutting it as it distorted at higher volumes. I went in and saw what they had. Typical displays by the big names like Sony, Bose, JbL and other big bands. This one sat on the shelf. No display. I took a chance on it mainly for the handle and power bank feature... Boy was I blown away. This little thing packs a punch! It’s super loud when you need it to be and the bass boost actually adds low end. And for the price, I’m so glad I got this over the big name ones. Battery life is good. My phone doesn’t hold a charge that well so I can charge my iPhone 6s about 2 times while at work. Between that and streaming music, I can get a full 10 hours day of use on a single charge. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars... Sometimes. It just doesn’t want to connect to my phone. It could be the age of my phone but the problem solves itself after doing a few power on/off cycles. Not a big deal but that is something I’ve experienced with mine.

I was looking for a portable device that I could take with me on jobsite for construction. The price was right and the reviews show promise. I am extremely satisfied with this unit. Sound is awesome and the volume is very good. Bass response is much better than I expected also. Battery charge lasts more than a full day of work. The kicker is that I work in very dusty areas and I can simply rinse this unit off and it still looks new. Bluetooth always connects easily. Sound is so good that 2 other guys on my crew purchased them after seeing mine. I'm going to by another for my garage at home.

I have a smaller Insignia bluetooth speaker that fits in the pocket of my cargo shorts and I take it everywhere. I wanted a speaker that was louder and had a longer charge so I took a chance on this larger Insignia. Boy am I glad I did. It is much louder and it has a bass boost that makes the bass really loud. The handle makes it easy to carry and it is WATERPROOF!!!! It does come with a traditional power cord so you can't charge it using a USB/phone charger. I'm still on the first charge and I've used it over 15 hours!!! I bought this on sale for $30.99 and at that low price it can't be beat!!!

For the clearance price and perhaps even the full price, this boombox is a fantastic value. I don’t own a $350 JBL boombox to compare this to but I do have higher end home components so I appreciate good sound. While it obviously can’t compare to tower speakers with a dedicated 10 inch subwoofer and 125 watt receiver - it does sound good for such a small package. It’s loud, clear and has good Bluetooth range. It’s a bit heavy but quite portable with the handle. In a nutshell I think most people will love this, especially at the clearance price point.

I love the sound, too much bass i will said will beat harder if use on restroom, excellent for more open spaces, i do love it, i use it on the gym whem i am by miself, one thing is missing and all speakers should have is the button for next song, if you are close to water you have to hear whichever song is next even if you dont like it, or get out of the pool, take your phone and press next , is the only thing i hate about it

i was surprised how good this speaker sounded. It is a little muddy when you crank it up, but sounds great when playing at normal level. Great bass response too. Really heavy speaker if you have to tote this around alot. Seems pretty well constructed. I play it a couple of hours a days, 4 days a week, and the battery has never went dead. Good deal for the money.($30.00)

Picked up it for $39.99 (60% off original price) Simply can't be beat for the price especially on sale. Even I think the $99.99 original price is justifiable especially with some of the features it has that other speakers a little more expensive than it doesn't have. The sound is great, bass boost really adds that "thump", I think its up to par with my UE Megaboom and Marshall Stockwell, both which cost well over $100. The waterproof feature and battery bank to charge your phone from its 20,000 mAh battery is also great for outdoor use or some light traveling.

What a great speaker. It is bigger than I expected, but puts out great sounding music. Love the fact that it is waterproof and is supposed to float. I have no placed it in water yet, but is heavier than I expected a speaker to be. Will be using this around the pool and on Tubing trips!

I usually stay away from store brand items cause it's usually subpar. Seeing the features offered and the daily deal taking $60 off I took a chance. Glad I did, sounds great, booming bass, gets loud, big and rugged plus can be used as a powerbank! I would of gladly payed full price!

It has good sound and material quality. It is waterproof and has an excellent battery life of more than 4 hours. It is quite loud for its size. I would definitely recommend this compared to other speakers because it is waterproof. Use this outdoors with no worries.

Outstanding sound quality for a small speaker. Bass is perfect with boost and highs are decent. Plenty loud. A bit heavy but expected with a huge battery and no, you can’t jump back or forward track on the device for whatever reason. Cannot beat it for 50 price!

I was looking for a bluetooth speaker for the garage and was looking for something not to big and not to expensive but still packs a punch. This one is definitely it. I have owned it for 6 months now and have got my money's worth out of this Insignia. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes it doesn't want to connect on the first try but something I figured out is you don't have to put a lot of pressure on the power button, just lightly tap it and it will connect every time but if you hold down on that power button it won't connect then you have to turn it off and try again. But other than that its golden. I would compare the sound to a smaller JBL flip or a Sony that is triple the cost. I like it so much I take it wherever I go to do work outside, inside, camping or whatever. I like listening to music everywhere I go plus I can control it with my watch to so if someone needs to ask me something I hit pause on my watch. I got this on the deal of the day and I had some reward money so I basically got it for free. If you are looking for a gift or something to jam to around the house look no further.

This speaker really surprised us! The charge lasts forever and the sound is pretty amazing. It’s a good size a little bigger than we expected. However, the only downside is that it’s a little heavy to carry. Overall it’s great.
