This is a great movie, especially if you’re a musician or fan of music. Jack White kind of steals this movie though, in my opinion. Just seeing 3 great guitarists get together & explain how/why they do what they do is almost inspirational.

Excellent documentary. Very different styles and stories.

This is a documentary, so the "Plot" and "Acting" categories above don't apply. However, the structure was interesting, intercutting between the central meeting between all three guitarists, individual interviews, and performance clips from each man's career. The music they make together is, of course, wonderful, but the real treat for me is the insight into the details of music-making from three distinct points of view. The scenes with Edge and his guitar tech are especially revelatory. I found, among the extras, the press conference about the movie to be as interesting as the movie itself, with Jack White's dry wit a highlight. I would recommend this documentary, not just to any guitarist, but any musician, or for that matter, anyone.

First thing is first; the individual who wrote the review about this not being in the store and only has 1 star, it wasn't a major promotional movie. Best Buy, Target, Circuit City are not going to invest in 100's of 1000's of this DVD if they can't guarantee sales. But this is just a great movie. Great idea, great minds, great backgrounds, it's just real cool. Last but not least, some great music involved as well.

Everyone that plays music should see this movie/documentary. It takes you through each musicians life and their love of music. It gives a humble look at each one and gives a new look at Jack White and his music. Each one talks about thier guitars, their music, and what makes them tic when playing. I highly recommend this for anyone especially music buffs.

A great look at some of the best guitarists - what inspires them, their diverse techniques, their passion. Great music. Very cool to see three different generations and styles come together and then realize they aren't so different.

Jimmy Page, the Edge and Jack White give us an insight into the electric gutair that's interesting and entertaining. They represent the last 40 years of rock -n-roll history. Its a must have for music lovers.

I was disappointed. I was expecting to see Edge, Jimmy Page, and Jack White jamming together. Instead there was very little of the three of them together. It mostly a series of individual interviews that talked about their personal histories and evolution of the rock guitar. Interesting, but not enough music playing.

If you ever wanted to know how Jimmy Page became the guitarists he is you need this DVD. He explains the sound behind Stairway to Heaven in detail and the double neck guitar made specially for touring in Led Zepplin. Then there is Jack White and his unique Punk sound, and also The Edge of U2. Each brings something unique and they share their experiences and love of guitar and music. This DVD is enough to inspire a young guitarists to become a better player and expand their view of Rock's most essential instrument. My son loved it and your's will too.

This well put together documentary featuring three very distinct guitar greats is a compelling look at how much common ground there is between these very different personalities. Great behind the scenes look at the musical inspirations and motivations behind the fantastic players.

I just loved this film. I enjoy the individuals as musicians, so I had high expectations going into it, and it blew my mind. It is a story about what inspired these men to follow their dreams. It describes what drove them in their past, and what helped push them to reach their goals. It is an awesome film in my mind.

It's a great movie, how come it's not in stock? This seems to be a common occurrence with music related DVDs lately at Best Buy. I'd love to see this again, but not so loving the wait.

I expected more jam's and less boring conversation. The segment with Jack White and his 9 yr old alter ego did not work for me. Jimmey Page and his large volume record collection worked a little better and Edge's visit to his grade school was off key. Super fans will be happy, I was looking for a little more of them playing together and less seperate personal reminiscence.
