About this product

The UK North East meets the South West, as acclaimed County Durham songwriter Jez Lowe calls on Devon's top folk duo Show of Hands to assist him with his 14th collection of original songs, and his first solo album since 1988. Producer Steve Knightley steers Jez through eleven new songs, including three from Jez's contributions to acclaimed BBC series the Radio Ballads, with assistance from the Bad Pennies (Kate Bramley on violin and vocals, Andy May on piano and tin whistle and David de la Haye on bass guitar) plus recording engineer Phil Beer on slide guitar and violin, Jenna on vocals, and Dave McKeown on clarinet. Jez's Radio Ballads role as wordsmith and musician, interpreting the lives and attitudes of the working men and women of Northern Britain, is further explored in this set, harking back to his own roots in Ireland and in the coal-mining community of East Durham. Album Tracks 1. Jack Common's Anthem 2. Sea and the Deep Blue Devil 3. Taking on Men 4. Black Trade 5. Miami 6. Will of the People 7. Yellow Hair 8. Heaney's Finger 9. Working Dirty 10. Few Frontiers 11. Jack's Return

Originally released in 2002, Daylight EP was the follow-up to Aesop Rock's critically-acclaimed Labor Days album, a cult classic released only six months prior. The EP was built around it's titular opening song, InchDaylight,Inch one of the standout tracks from Labor Days, and continued expanding upon the range and depth of Aesop's multi-talented gifts for writing and producing. In addition to the title track, Daylight EP also included it's counterpoint, InchNight Light,Inch an alternate version in concept whose paraphrased lyrics simultaneously refer back to- and stand in stark opposition to- the original's, over darker, more menacing production. The tracklist for Daylight EP boasted seven songs, although there was a hidden track as well making a total of eight, that collectively featured production by Blockhead, El-P, and Aesop Rock himself, as well as a guest verse from Blueprint. At the time of it's initial , Daylight EP was only offered in CD and digital formats, while the vinyl was stripped back, available only as a three-song 12Inch single. Now, Rhymesayers Entertainment is pleased to present the complete EP on vinyl for the first time ever, pressed on two-color side A/B effect orange & blue vinyl to complement the original artwork! Album Tracks 1. Daylight 2. Night Light 3. Nickel Plated Pockets 4. Alchemy 5. Forest Crunk 6. Bracket Basher 7. Maintenance
