Just when I think I cannot find a better portable speaker, JLAB makes an even better one than their last one. The new JLAB Epic Portable Party Speaker has it all and produces a terrific customizable sound. It takes approximately five (5) hours to fully charge the speaker, but you also get 16-hours of Bluetooth playing time. The sound is solid as it is produced through 100 Watts of power. This wattage is a combination of the four (4) 10 W full-range drivers, and the 60-Watt active subwoofers. There is also a 5.25” passive radiator to boost the base performance. Together these create 360 degrees of lab quality sound whose clarity is really, really good. There are even preset EQ sound modes that can be adjusted on top of the console or in the APP. Both are easy to use to customize the sound further. The top controls include an on/off button, controls for moving forward or backward on the album for different song selections, controls to turn the RGB LED lights on or off and to customize them with the music, a LabSync control button which will allow you to connect up to 100 JLAB speakers, and an EQ mode button which will allow you to cycle through the EQ4 modes, of Signature, Balance, Bass Boost, or Custom There is also a volume dial with a push pause button in the center. All of these features also include the fact that the speaker is IPX6 Waterproof. This means that you cannot toss it in the pool, but it can be near a pool or the beach. Portability is aided with the solid, sturdy handle on the top of the speaker. There are other features that allow you to add auxiliary components. The speaker supports 30W PD (Power Delivery) quick charging which helps manage its large 9000 mAh battery The charger uses a USB-C in connection. There is also a USB-C out for charging your mobile device which can be done while the speaker is playing. Also hidden behind the waterproof rubber gasket on the top of the rear of the speaker are sources to connect with AUX I or ¼” inputs, including a microphone and headphone. When you are finished charging, or using these inputs, always ensure the gasket is securely back in space if used around a pool, beach, or water. This is the only way your speaker can be near water and not damaged. The APP controls also have more detailed adjustments to the equalizer and a toggle on and off for setting the speech mode. Speech mode voice prompts announce things like Power on, Bluetooth connected or battery full, and when you cycle through the EQ4 modes, of Signature, Balance, Bass Boost, or Custom using the dedicated EQ button, a voice will announce which mode is currently active It will also announce LabSync when entering multi-speaker sync modes to confirm it has successfully entered Cast or Receive mode. Firmware updates and registration of your speaker can also be done in this section of “My Devices” in the APP. The speaker can be switched from Music to Movie mode if desired, and this and the feature of monitoring the battery saver can also be found in the APP. The speaker is preset to auto turn off after no music is played for 30 minutes, but this can be reset from 5 – 60 minutes or set to always on. The LED RGB lighting can be set to turn off when the battery hits 10 percent of its charging capacity, but this too can be set up to 75 percent or always on. In the APP you can see the charging capacity of the battery, which is particularly useful. The JLAB Epic Party Portable Speakers has Multilingual Support. It is capable of supporting announcements in multiple languages. This feature can be toggled on or off under the “My Devices” section in the APP. The JLAB Epic Party Portable speaker is so easy to get up, running and ready to use. All that needs to be done is charge the speaker with the included 30W PD (Power Delivery) quick charger, pair the speaker with your mobile device’s Bluetooth, and let the updated firmware install itself, which is fairly automatic. It is that simple and it all happened for me without any glitches at all. This is an excellent portable party speaker. This speaker carries a 2 Year-Limited Warranty against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship of the speaker. . This does not include misuse of the product.

I was looking for a new speaker for when I’m washing the cars, tinkering in the workshop, and enjoying our new patio. With this speaker’s splash proof rating, it should be fine if it gets a little accidental spray from the car wash hose or a sudden shower on the patio. I asked JLab support about the rating listed on the website, it was listed as both IPX6 and IP56. Their response was as follows; “Hello, Thank you for reaching out! The Epic party speaker has an IP rating of IP56. So it's protected from limited dust ingress and from high-pressure water jets from any direction. Thank you, Isabel JLab Support Team” First thing I noticed after unboxing is that this speaker is stout, weighs about 10.5 lbs. It has a large handle making it easy to carry. The battery life with the LED display on is rated at 14 hours, it increases to 16 hours with the lighting off. I haven’t drained the battery yet but that looks to be tracking about right. The LED display has six different flash modes, several pulse in sync with the beat. Of course, you buy a speaker for the sound and this 100 watt powerhouse delivers that. With a 60 watt 5.25” active subwoofer and 5” passive woofer you can feel and four 10 watt 2.5” speakers firing out in all directions you can fill a house with sound. Using the JLab app you can select from three preset equalizer settings or set up your own custom preset. A button on top of the speaker allows you to cycle through the choices as well. The app also lets you adjust the speed, brightness, and colors of the LED display and there’s a button on the speaker to cycle through the options. The intuitive dial does double duty for both volume when rotated and play/pause when pressed. There is a usb-c output on the speaker if you need to top off your mobile device and a 1/4” mic (or guitar?) input. This speaker is LabSync compatible so you can synchronize the sound and lights for up to 100 JLab Party speakers. I understand that if you have two you can designate each as a separate left or right channel. I think you’ll find this a good choice for tailgating, BBQs, house parties or just chillin’ on the deck.

The JLab Epic Party Speaker lives up to its namesake. It offers big spacious sound that matches its large size and weight. Party speakers occupy the category of Bluetooth speakers that are large enough to be used in a large area but portable enough to be moved around. As others have mentioned this speaker is surprisingly large and heavy. There is a heavy duty handle in the top of the speaker which allows it to be moved by hand. Included in the box with the speaker is a 30 watt USB-C charger. The first step is to download the JLab App and pair the speaker to your device. Using the App is not required but not using the App will strip the user of useful features like the equalizer. The next step was a firmware update that took less than 5 minutes. Once paired get ready to enjoy music the way it is deigned to be heard. Loud and big. There are a few equalizer presets that can be selected to and custom 10 band setting. The default equalizer setting is JLab Signature which most people will find pleasing. My personal preference is Bass Boost. Music is full range and as bass heavy. It goes very loud before it starts to distort. Overall the speaker sounds fabulous and most people will be very pleased with the sound. The heavy duty internal battery is rated at up to 16 hours. I used it for a few days and the battery barely budged so I believe this rating to be accurate. If you need a big sounding party speaker this model is highly recommended. It works well and sounds great. It provides everything you would want in a party speaker.

What’s in the box? The JLab Epic Party Speaker, power adapter and paperwork. Setup: Setup couldn’t be easier with the JLab App. Install the app from your smartphones App Store and follow the prompts to install your JLab Epic Party Speaker. The JLab App is where you can setup and customize your Epic Party Speaker and RGB lighting. This is also where you can set the EQ4 to your desired setting. The lighting has different settings so you can adjust it to match the music or the mood. Is your party at the pool, beach or lake? No worries! The JLab Epic Party Speaker is waterproof!! I mean don’t throw it in the pool or lake, but if it gets splashed a few times, it won’t hurt it. It’s waterproof to the IPX6 standard, which means it can get rained on and splashed but it’s not submersible. The lighting is really cool looking. You can adjust the colors, the speed, the motion and more. This JLab Epic Party Speaker is able to sync up to 100 JLab speakers together. Now that’s a party! Speaker Specs: This speaker has 100W, 4 full-range drivers and a woofer. The controls are on the top of the speaker. It is rechargeable and you get about 15 hours of play time. The speaker is 360° so there is high quality sound coming out of the speaker all the way around it. The lights are at the top below the handle. The lights are so cool. The handle is very sturdy and it has to be because this speaker is kinda heavy. It weighs a little over 11 pounds. This speaker is great and I highly recommended it!

Bring the party with this JLab Epic Party portable speaker! We needed a speaker that could put out the sound and fill even an outdoor space. This one fits the bill. I will say that this is a fairly large speaker with some weight to it. It does weight over 10lbs and stand just about 11.5 inches tall. I would still consider this portable as it can be easily carried. The build Quality on this speaker is fantastic. It has a large metal handle, rubberized top and buttons, lighting bar, and is fabric wrapped. It has a fairly solid feeling composite base with rubber feet. Nothing on this feels cheaply made at all. I was very impressed by how solid this feels. The handle itself is extremely solid and will be perfect when transporting it from place to place. The 360 degree sound that comes from this speaker is excellent. It consists of four 2.5” full-range drivers, one 5” passive woofer and one 5.25” subwoofer that is powered by 100watts of power. There are preset equalizer settings and a customizable setting (accessed in the JLab app). I tend to leave it on Bass Boost as that is a good all-around setting that doesn't fade out in larger rooms or outdoors. This has some other really cool features other that just great sound. To start the lighting is a great party touch. There are preset lighting modes that include fading in and out, rotating, and a sound reactive mode that pairs and moves with the music (this is my favorite). If you have multiple JLab speakers, you can pair them for an even bigger sound experience. The speaker can act as a power bank to charge your devices, Aux input, and a mic input as well, however I was not able to try out this functionality. The Bluetooth pairing worked seamlessly for me so I was up and running with music in no time! I like the app functionality as it gives you full control of all the speaker features right on your phone. Battery life is very good. JLab claims it has 14+ hours of battery life with the lights on. I've had this running for several listening sessions and I have plenty of life left. You can also adjust power saver settings in the app with is very easily done. So far I am very happy with this speaker and I know for sure it will get lots of uses during cookouts, bonfires, camping, and all the fun activities that need some great music to bring it all together! I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a robust, well built, and great sounding portable speaker.
