Anton Rubinstein's remarkable virtuoso career during the 19th century coincided almost exactly with the final developments of the modern piano. The increasing popularity of the instrument combined with Rubinstein's formidable execution earned him enormous popularity as a performer. The Six Preludes and Fugues in Free Style are major works, each piece dedicated and alluding to famous composers and performers of the day. The charming Three Pieces are small-scale character works, while the Concert Étude in C major is a witty display piece in which 'wrong notes' are instantly corrected, like an errant pupil attempting to disguise mistakes. Album Tracks 1. Six Fugues en Style Libre Introduites de Préludes, Op. 53 ('Six Preludes and Fugues in Free Style') (1857( 2. Three Pieces, Op. 71 (1867) 3. Concert Étude in C Major 'On False Notes' (1868) - Moderato

On her fourth album, Unclouded, Melody's Echo Chamber embarks on a life-affirming new chapter with an album that celebrates the present moment, whatever state we find ourselves in. There's a continuity that runs through Melody's Echo Chamber's brand of psychedelic pop going back to 2012's self-titled debut but now comes a perfectly executed shaking up of personnel. Unclouded's impressive cast includes Swedish maestro Sven Wunder, who co-produced the record and contributed to the writing, bringing his unique sonic palette to the richly-textured canvas; Josefin Runsteen on strings, who brings her avant-garde smarts to the tableau; Dina Ögon's Daniel Ögen on guitar and Love Orsan on bass who Melody describes as Inchmasters of the velvet grooveInch; British drummer Malcolm Catto, collaborator with Madlib and DJ Shadow, and the powerhouse behind The Heliocentrics; and frequent collaborator Reine Fiske whose guitar parts can be heard throughout the record. Last but not least, Leon Michels - the Wu-Tang, The Carters, Norah Jones and Clairo collaborator - worked with Melody on the album's closer InchDaisyInch, a sparkling pop song plucked from the ether. El Michels Affair's Grammy-winning mixer Jens Jungkurth was drafted in to bring everything to life. Album Tracks 1. The House That Doesn't Exist 2. In the Stars 3. Flowers Turn Into Gold 4. Eyes Closed 5. Childhood Dream 6. Memory's Underground 7. Broken Roses 8. Burning Man 9. Into Shadows 10. How to Leave Misery Behind 11. Unclouded 12. Daisy (Feat. El Michels Affair)

A pupil of Pizzetti, the Italian composer, critic and pianist, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco is today better known for his guitar works and film scores. From 1940 to 1956 he worked for various film studios in Hollywood, contributing to some 250 productions, and in 1946 he became an American citizen. These highly evocative and atmospheric piano works of his youth, which include depictions of flora and fauna, pastimes and the sea, suggest the lyricism of Pizzetti and the impressionism of Debussy and Ravel. Album Tracks 1. Cipressi, Op.17 2. Il Raggio Verde, Op.9 3. Alghe, Op.12 4. I Naviganti, Op.13 5. Lucertolina 6. La Sirenetta E Il Pesce Turchino, Op.18 7. I. Un Poco Mosso 8. II. Un Poco Burlesco 9.
