I am enjoying my DDX9707S. This is my first car stereo with a touch screen. After a two months, I have discovered how to use the secondary functions on the buttons, a great way to put less use on the touch screen, and using the buttons is easier and less distracting while driving. I have the feeling that the longer I have this unit, the more I will like it. Wireless Android Auto works quite well, and if I am going on a long trip I can use the wired Android Auto and it will keep my phone charged. I had my installer replace both cigarette lighters in my car with USB ports so my phone can be plugged in easily and inconspicuously for a long trip. I use the CD player, but not as much as I thought I would. When I can ask Google to call up any music, it seems senseless to fumble around with my CD case, but it is nice to know that I can still listen to my CDs in case have to drive through an area with no 4G or 5G cell service. I got the right Car Stereo for me, after a lot of online research. The DDX9707S has more capabilities than I am using, so I am looking forward to discovering more as I add on to it.

Installed in 2016 RAM 1500 (had the lowest end radio prior). Absolutely love, love my DDX9707S Kenwood stereo. There is also the nearly identical DMX9707S that may be a better fit for some if DVD support is not required. All other features are the same minus the DVD player. I bought this stereo as Kenwood has a series of radios that support the Maestro iDataLink ADS-MMR module. This interface, besides providing me the standard steering wheel support other interfaces provides also talks directly to the autos computer systems (canbus) so that factory features can be displayed on the radio. For example I can have my tire pressure, climate controls and parking sensors displayed on the radio. I've also provided a picture of my dash as the Radio communicates to it as well. You'll see that the song "Feel it still" is shown both on the CarPlay display as well as on my deluxe dash. First off, if you have not experienced "wireless" CarPlay or Android Auto (spouse has Samsung phone), you have no idea how free you feel when you don't require a cord. In addition, sometimes the cord can be a source of problems for your CarPlay or Android Auto experience. USB support is certainly available. Unfortunately (but perhaps a future firmware upgrade) iPhones do need to use their lightning cable if you want USB Mirroring. Android phones can wireless mirror and my spouses Samsung works great. The radio has excellent audio capabilities and has 4volt outputs for separate car amplifiers if you are really tricking it out. Has full crossover controls, so external crossovers are only optional for subwoofers and the like helping to reduce future expense. There is the ability to support 4 camera inputs (as well as a video output, more on that in a moment). Seriously considering the Kenwood DRV-N520 dash cam, as it'll plug directly into this and the DMX9707S radios with extra features. It's nice having my factory review mirror camera integrated into the car radio. While not a cable you can get from BestBuy, I was able to purchase a cable that allowed that connect and also keep it working on the review mirror). Something very interesting about the Radio is the ability to support Zones. Instead of just the radio through the entire vehicle, you can have the front be CarPlay, SiriusXM or whatever, and have the DVD or other source in the back. With a companion display the fam can be watching a DVD in the back seat along with headphones while the parents listen to music or anything else. Each car installation is different depending on make and model, but for reference I have the following along with my Kenwood DDX9707S on my RAM 1500: *Maestro ADS-MRR Universal Radio Replacement and Steering Wheel Interface * Maestro HRN-RR-CH3 Plug and Play T-Harness for CH3 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Vehicles *Maestro Acc-USB-RAM Media Hub USB Port Adapter Kit (retains factory AUX and USB connectors in console seat) * A Fakra Z to DIN radio antenna adapter (RAM radio had strange small radio connector). When planning to retain the factory features, be certain that you request the iDatalink feature, steering wheel interfaces are available for cheaper installation but do not retain the advanced features. Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 are required to retain these features and has two specific ports on the back of the radio for these. I did have a slightly lower value on my DDX9707S as I've found that we don't use DVD's as much as we thought we would. The DMX9707S may be a better value, but depends if you'll want to use movies for the back seat zone.

The glass screen is like a cellphone. Very responsive screen, fairly intuitive, just takes a bit of use to get familiar with. My big issue is my ipod nano 7th generation with lightning adapter can only be connected via bluetooth, doesn't show artwork. I understand the ipod is older but it should be backward compatible. My 2010 stock unit in my other vehicle works the ipod more effectively. Other than that CarPlay and android auto work great. The user manual could be better. HD radio 2nd and 3rd channels to some time to figure out how to tune

I have an older truck and wanted to be in compliance with the law for hands free device use while driving. The technician Deion was very knowledgeable about the radio inventory products. I spent a little more money but he kept me from purchasing a product that wouldn't do what I wanted to do. He did a clean install of this radio so well it works as good and sometimes better than the factory touch screens in my other vehicles. Once he synched it with my cell phone (wire connection or bluetooth) I can now do total hands free with Voice controls for text, music, and phone calls. I would recommend this product and definetly Deion as your installer. Dynamite experience!

Very poorly packaged. I have bought open boxed items before and normally they are packaged better. Tree was no card taken Olin this one the display was face down against the metal cage that is normally arround the radio allowing it to scratch the face no padding or packing to keep it secure just everything loose in the box and this was marked as an in excellent condition item. I would love to include pictures. I was very upset.and it looks like the antenna wire has been pulled on and pulling the insulation off the copper wire this caused the signal to be static sounding I believe.

VERY NICE RADIO! The factory installed radio went bad after two years. Good riddance because this one is WAY better!

This stereo is horrible and as a traveling Photographer where my car is my mobile office as I literally drive in mountains and in places that do not have great signals in order to get those awesome photos of Nature and Landscapes! I needed a stereo with a built-in GPS unit - which the salesman told me this unit has but does not! That's not acceptable for me as navigation won't work on my unit and will only work on my phone with Android Auto, and it only gets worse from here... It won't connect to my phone and says USB device over current status detected when I do connect it as it's needed for Waze and Google Navigation and doesn't do a lot of the things that it says it will do. I already made an appointment today at Noon to hopefully get this unit switched out with the right Kenwood stereo as I am not happy with this at all and do not recommend this stereo to anyone! Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $50 more on the one with the built-in GPS/Garmin Unit, and I promise you that you'll be happy with it! It doesn't matter if you have a cell phone signal or not, you'll still be able to have navigation preloaded in your stereo of the North America and will be able to get out the places that don't have great signals! Also, Android Auto and Apple Carplay won't even work with this unit and I am very unhappy with it! It just keeps saying USB device over current detected, won't sync with my phone (except for the phone book) and this is not a highend unit to buy for $599.99 as it doesn't do the features that says it will!! I'm going to spend that extra $50 on the stereo I want today as I hope they will allow me to return it with the receipt as it's the last day on the 30th day that I bought it and will return it for the right unit that's going to work and not give me these problems along with the built-in GPS unit and things that I truly do need! Look at the 2 photos below to verify what I'm saying!

I own a 2013 Chevy Silverado and have always told my wife the only thing I didn’t like about the truck was the radio. The stock radio wouldn’t play my music through Bluetooth and when plugged in to USB port it would automatically start playing the first song in my iTunes music. Was annoying. She got me this radio for my birthday and I will take this radio with me to whatever vehicle I own now. It has tons of adjustments and presets to use for whatever music type you like. It loads my Apple play, google maps, waze, podcasts...whatever I need it to do it does quick and without a hiccup. It had the ability to plug a back up camera in it and I haven’t done that yet but that will be my Next purchase for truck. I haven’t watched a dvd on it but it has that ability. It’s not HD quality when watching one though. Bottom line: if you have a smart phone and still have an archaic stock radio. You will love this one. If you don’t have a smart phone then I wouldn’t buy this radio because you can get a much cheaper radio that does what you need it to do just as well

I replaced the radio in my 2006 truck with this new kenwood radio. I had Best Buy install it and a new sirus-xm tuner and connect my backup camera to it. It is such an improvement over my old radio. It is very easy to use and sounds great. The android auto and mirroring works great with my phone. Really pleased with the radio and the installation.

This works great in my 2015 Mazda CX-9. The wireless Android auto is awesome! It pairs up very nicely. I like the tilt screen settings. Its Powerful and sleek. The DVD player is tucked up behind the screen.

First Kenwood Double DIN. Wanted screen that I could have a custom tilt on as I’m tall and other aftermarket screen I couldn’t see. SO MANY FEATURES I CAN’T spend enough time in my truck to play with it long enough to figure them all out! Install at my store in Springfield OR was TOP OF THE LINE! My “Geeks” are known in my area as some of the BEST & most Meticulous in town ( with many “custom “ shops to chose from) Product is Great and a decent App to use for tailgating etc. I’ll never figure out everything but the apple play functionality and the way it connects via a network gives great sound WITHOUT having to be tethered to your dashboard!

This is my second Kenwood car receiver, and it is just the latest upgrade to what is essentially the same product. I am generally satisfied with this product: it has a good tuner and is relatively easy to use. There are, however, a couple major options that I would like to have and that should be included in a product of this price: (1) a mute button for the radio, a real hassle when you want to quickly silence the radio, (Pioneer units supply this button), and (2) a digital readout of inserted CDs, which this unit doesn't do unless using Apple CarPlay. I don't understand why this unit cannot "read" the contents of a CD, when the cheapest stock units that come with new cars can do so effortlessly. This is a major failing for this kind of quality unit. Also with such a big faceplate, little useful information is provided, such as a "content bar" indicating how long a -based song is and how much of that song remains. Pioneer units provide this feature, but not Kenwood. Otherwise, there are alot of other options that are useful. Most people are streaming and no longer playing hard media, such as CDs. For those folks, all the information you want is there and on-screen.

The DDX6705S, is a very good mid level radio, the sound capacity is way better than what I used to have in my Toyota Tacoma 2005 (crappy original radio that lower the volume and changes stations by itself), This unit has an amazing sound even at 12 low vol, its very easy to use. Now why is not a 5 star purchase rating for me??, the bad part, its not what it has but what's missing, at least you would expect screen mirroring, lower level radios have it but not this model; the kenwood app is not very good at all, WAZE app never worked, in fact during a firmware update the WAZE icon simply disappeared from the head unit, not that I missed it(Since I wasn't able to make it work properly in the first place). Everything else is great, Blutooth,CD/DVD/etc, maybe I'm just happy with the radio update, but I also installed the rearview camera and so far everything is working fine. BTW Also bought a datalink Maestro RR, because when I installed the head unit in my pick up only the front speakers were functioning for some reason?, after much internet/YouTube research found out that the Maestro could help with my problems and it did, everything is now working great!!!. So if you are thinking on buying or update and don't need WAZE or screen mirroring, this unit is a great place to star. Hope my review help you out with your decision.

I've had the receiver for 2 months, and I love it! Wireless Android Auto works flawlessly. All the choices you have are great: Sirius/MX, Apps through Android Auto (Spotify, Pandora, etc.), CD, USB and good old fashioned radio. The USB is really great for me. The fact that this can play Hi Res audio is beyond cool. I have a large collection of Hi Res audio files, and it's great to be able to take these on the road with me via thumb drive. All the EQ presets are nice, and the ability to customize your own is cool. Tons of lighting color choices to match your interior. Best Buy installed a backup camera as well, which looks great on the screen. Can't say enough great things about this item. Highly recommend

This Media Player is SUPERB! The only thing better than this is how well the installation was done by Best Buy. There was a bit of difficulty fitting it in my Mustang but the Best Buy Install Tech, Dylan did an excellent job. The only "problem" was with my OEM Satellite antenna was not hooked up and instead the one that came with the new SiriusXM tuner I also bought at Best Buy was used. I contacted BB and Dylan is going to remedy that for me soon and I am grateful for the superb installation he did on this unit! It is nice to be able to play a CD when the mood strikes me and this unit works superbly with my iPhone 14 and Apple CarPlay. I have a physical handicap and the front and rear cameras that are connected to this really help me to park my car and again, I have Dylan to thank for that. Highly recommended? Yes!

This was an upgrade from a similar Pioneer model. It produces an excellent sound, comparatively. Adding Bluetooth devices is an atypical process. I have yet to get wireless mirroring to work, so that is frustrating. Otherwise, I like this unit.

I installed this KENWOOD in my wife’s 05 sequoia and it looks and works great! KENWOOD is the only brand head unit I will buy due to quality and longevity. This is my 4th KENWOOD I have installed and all were in different vehicles, I have never had an issue out of them. My only negative I have is that I bought the KENWOOD backup camera thinking it was the only backup camera KENWOOD had because it’s the only one I’ve ever seen but it does not plug n play to this radio for power and ground. You have to buy a certain one. Other than that great product!
