Q: Are the speakers 600 watts rms each or.combined?
A: The KICKER 44DCWC122, ported enclosure with two 12" CompC subwoofers, is a 2-ohm enclosure rated to handle 600 watts RMS total power (300 watts to each subwoofer) and 1200 watts Peak (600 watts to each subwoofer). You can get good bass with minimal power, but KICKER recommends an amplifier within +/- 20% of the RMS rating (480 to 720 watts RMS on this particular enclosure). Recommend using an amplifier with an RMS power rating of 300-600 Watts RMS in to a 2-ohm load. A few recommended amplifiers to use with this enclosure would be the KICKER KEY 500.1 Smart Amplifier (47KEY5001), KICKER CXA400.1, KICKER CXA800.1 or the mono dedicated sub channel on a CXA660.5 five channel amplifier.
A: The CompC Dual Loaded Enclosure is rated for 600 Watts RMS - 1200 Watts Peak power handling. If the amplifier you have is currently rated 800 Watts RMS, it should present no problems if operated properly. Please set your volume/system/amplifier gains properly and do not operate the amplifier into a clipping (clipped/distorted signal output) situation. Please look at this video to learn how to adjust your amplifier gains properly. https://youtu.be/Zlt6BiBZYX4
