It did require extra parts to connect it to the drain, but otherwise installed easily. Makes ice, operates quietly, and looks good.

I installed this ice maker in my bar. Not very impressed with the small ice cube size. I thought they would much bigger. The worst thing, it is very noisy!! I had kitchen aid appliances before and never had anything bad to say but this ice maker is not what I expected.

the unit is replacing and older unit i had which was not worth repairing. My only complaint is the data should be more clear that if you cannot gravity expel the water and you need a pump, this should be included as an option.

Love that the Door Pulls Down and the size of the ice cubes. This is my second unit purchased and would not hesitate to purchase it again

Hasn't work correctly yet. Bought this because I had one like it before, and loved it. But this one has not worked correctly since I bought it.

Ordered this ice maker in December. It was delivered late to mid-January and had the same issue with water filling up the ice compartment and overflowing causing a flood. I called to report the issue, had to wait another 3wks for them to deliver a new ice maker and ended up having the same problem. Before calling BestBuy again, I called Kitchenaide and asked for a service tech to come and take a look. The tech from Kitchenaide was very nice and explained that the ice maker is gravity fed and a pump is needed to pump out the water. That's when we realized that the original installers never took the pump out of the original ice maker and transferred over to the not one but two new ice makers delivered by BestBuy. If your drain hose is running across the kitchen to the sink and not downwards into a plumbing line in a basement, the ice maker will not drain. The BestBuy installers should have known to take our pump out of the ice maker we were replacing and reinstall it into the first new ice maker. Heading into the 3rd month of aggrevation with a non-functioning ice maker that cost almost $3,000 and it doesn't come equipped with a pump???? Now we have to pay for another pump (if we can find one) to replace the one taken by the original installers.

The Icemaker requires an additional drain pump sold seperately and cost $400.00. The back cover is made of cardboard, yes, cardboard! On the website it shows a thick metal plate. So much for KitchenAid quality build. It is unacceptable from a $2500 ice maker.

The ice machine is really nice and quiet. Fits perfect for counter depth. The only negative was it did t come with the water filter internally.

Ice Maker never worked. Took 2 weeks for repair company to look at and then 2 more weeks 2 get parts. Worked for less than and one hour, 2 more weeks to come back out and look at it again, needs new parts that are out of stock. Kitchenaid says they'll fix it soon, very sorry we can't tell you what soon means but we're trying hard.

I would review 0 stars if i could. Do not buy this item, the receiver pump went out in less than 6 months of purchase. KitchenAid is USELESS as far as repairs.
