Installation was definitely not "Plug & Play"
I have a LaCie backup drive which is still going strong that I bought with my old iMac in 2011. These drives are much more substantial than the cheap, flimsy Western Digital drives. Very inadequate instructions and even the Geek Squad technician had to do research to install it on my less than a year old iMac with up to date operating system.

GREAT quality and convenience!
Perfect back up for important projects! I back up ALL my movies on this brand drive and it has not failed me. Highly recommended!
