So good, but far from perfect.

TLDR: The Legion 7a 15" inch (388, 32gb) model is probably the best laptop I've ever owned, but it's far from perfect. Positives: + The form factor is amazing. It's the thinnest, lightest, and most portable 15" gaming laptop today. + Graphics and gaming performance is super impressive given its size. It beats the RTX 5050 laptop easily. + The battery life is great and lasts me a whole work day (7 hours, office work). Gaming gets almost 2 hours on battery, with no performance loss. That's unheard of. + OLED screen, great colors and high brightness. + Great quality speakers and port selection. Drawbacks: - The laptop gets hot, very hot during long intensive tasks like gaming. The top and middle keyboard can get uncomfortably warm, as well as the bottom chassis. For light tasks, it's perfectly fine. - The screen is basically a mirror and has no matte/anti reflection coating. (see photo) - I did experience battery drain while plugged in during gaming. Hopefully a future software update will fix this. - Both configurations are too expensive for what they offer. Would recommend, but only on sale and after AMD releases FSR 4 support.

Your experience matters to us, so we’d like to offer a few suggestions to help improve both thermals and charging performance.
For the battery drain you mentioned, please note that only the right USB‑C port supports Power Delivery 3.1. To ensure the system receives the full 180W from the included USB‑C adapter, the laptop should be plugged into the right‑side USB‑C port.
Regarding the thermal output, we recommend elevating the Legion 7a to improve airflow to the fans. This can help reduce heat buildup during demanding tasks.
The Legion 7a also allows you to adjust its thermal mode. You can switch between higher performance, quiet operation, or an automatic mode based on your needs. To change this, open the Legion Space app and look under the CPU and GPU performance gauges for the performance profile toggle. We suggest using Quiet mode, which helps lower temperatures and reduces battery consumption for longer gaming sessions. You can also switch modes quickly using the Fn+Q hotkey.
Regarding the price point for the Legion 7a lineup, we understand your perspective. Lenovo aims to stay competitive within the market, as other brands offer similar pricing for comparable specifications.
