I bought all these electronics for my daughter to use at college, they are good and what a college kid needs.

Elegant 13.3" machine,very handy and user friendly

I wanted something with thin bezels and good speed and this met those requirements and the icing on the cake was when I checked the hardware and saw that it uses Samsung SM961 nvme, m.2 SSD. I've installed Ubuntu Gnome 17.04 after changing the bios settings and it's good. Only two things I would change is having ram that can be upgraded and an option for a higher resolution screen. But I grabbed mine on sale for $650...

I have recently bought this device, I mainly use it for my college use. One thing I noticed that screen from one of the hinges is misaligned. To be specific, when looking at the screen, attachment to the right hinge is little up compared to the left hinge. Looked up for the issue on google and turns out that some people have faced this issue. It's kinda annoying. Is it normal or do I need to visit service center?

I wrote a previous review in which I said I really liked this laptop -- it had a few issues, but overall, I liked it. Well.... What I thought was a one-off problem has turned out to be a consistent issue. If I use the shut down (as opposed to sleep) feature to power down the laptop, or if the laptop shuts itself down to save power, when I turn it back on I get a BIOS-type blue screen of death message saying "Default boot device missing or boot failed". I can usually get the laptop to power on after a couple attempts of shutting it on and off or hitting ctrl-alt-delete, but each time it takes a little more fiddling to get it to come back. Best Buy only has a 14 day return policy so I am out of luck there and we've been trying to work with Lenovo but they say our only option is to mail it to them in Kentucky. (This after, at their request, I spent the whole day backing up all my stuff and restoring the computer to factory settings so I could prove to them that the problem was hardware related and not caused by software I had installed.) This is a high end laptop and I expected better performance and certainly better customer service -- who knows how long I will be out a computer while this thing is being fixed. Considering this is the 2nd Lenovo 720 that I have had issues with (the first one had a backspace key where it only worked intermittently and was exchanged within the 14 day return period), I would advise staying away from this one....all the swanky high end look-and-feel doesn't matter if the thing won't boot. I really expected better from Lenovo. I'm typing this review on my 6 year old Dell Inspiron -- the letters are worn off the keys and the spacebar actually has an indent worn in it from my thumb, but the computer just keeps plugging along.....I really wish I had stuck with Dell.

I was considering the HP specter, HP pavilion 2-in-1 and ended up buying this as I found the Yoga 720 to have the best value for money. It's not as slender as the specter, but feature wise, it's almost the same. My friend has a specter and on comparing, we noticed that the Yoga does equally well in all aspects except the video and audio quality. The 2-in-1 design works well for a student. The computer is lightning fast, and boots in around 5 seconds. Pros: Price, keyboard, finger print sensor, processing speed, battery. Cons: Audio quality, only one conventional USB port.

The laptop feel well made. It's stainless steel cover makes it smudge and fingerprint proof. The keyboard is comfortable as well as the touch pad. Battery life is about a day on homework assignments, youtube, music, and light gaming. Doesn't break my back commuting from and to school/work. Has a nice screen and doesn't seem to be too hot on my laptop. Fast, great battery, and great for everyday use as a student. Only down side is there isn't enough storage, but a portable hard drive solves the issue.

Very happy with this laptop. ended up buying two of them, one for my self, one for my sister in law. The touch functionality is great, it is a lightweight unit, and the battery life is very good. I would highly recommend it if you are a student. it has decent amount of SSD space, and fast 8gb memory with an i5 processor. Very speedy little laptop. We wanted to get the Apple, but came out buying this unit. The build quality is exceptional!

This is a very good laptop. Small and lightweight, makes it easy to carry around on a daily basis. Has a great battery life. Easy to switch from laptop to tablet mode. Touchscreen is very responsive. Overall good buy!

I am going to summarize pros and cons on this one based on my personal experience with this laptop: Pros: - pretty light weight - good screen (no light bleeding problem) - nice body in terms of shape and material - nice keyboard and touch-pad. - Touch screen is nice even though I don't use it as often - relatively good speakers - having USB-C and thunderbolt is a great plus. Cons: - if you used to 15 in screens like me, it feels a bit small - if your hands are a bit big, you may want to ensure your hand has enough resting space on the keyboard - having the speakers on the bottom of the laptop may bother you if you want to put the laptop on your lap and play something. - you have to buy an adapter to convert the USB-C to other type of connections (HDMI/USB/SD memory etc.) - Fan sometime is noisy or it would make weird noises in some systems (mine made a weird noise (not loud though), so I exchanged it and this one is relatively quiet) - Fan works a bit too frequent than I expected but still it is not annoying but for sure it is a disadvantage. - I am actually neutral about the battery. It could be better but it is not horrible. It is just okay for this size and price (5-7 h of operation). Even with this cons, I still think this is a great laptop for this price range. A lot cheaper than similar models of apple air or surface laptop.

I really like this Lenovo Yoga 720 13 inch. The screen is fantastic and the keyboard is a pleasure to type on. Has 2 USB-C ports and a USB A port to connect legacy items to. Battery life is good so far and performance is very fast. I originally bought the HP Spectre 13 with 512MB hard drive and 16GB RAM. The HP was very fast and nice but the first one I bought had a fan issue and the return key didn't work when pressed. Also, the HP Keyboard has silver keys and with the illumination on during the day, you couldn't always see what the key was. The dark keys are the Lenovo are much better. I swapped for another one and then the power charging didn't work consistently in the USB-C port. I returned the HP and bought this Lenovo and so glad I did. Half the price and everything works as expected. I have been using MacBook Pro's for the last 8 years and I really like this Lenovo and Windows 10 Creators edition.

At the time I first got this laptop, for the money and the capability there was not any better unit on the market. I got one for my mother too. The size overall is just right. The touch screen is wonderful to use. So nice to just touch what you want. I now leave fingerprints on every other computer screen I use because I have gotten so used to the touch screen. The fingerprint log on works every time. I set it up to know four fingers and one thumb. None of my other fingers will open the log in. It recognizes the print very quickly and you are logged in. There is a PIN and password login that can also be used. Plenty of hard drive space for me.(256 Gig) My favorite feature is the 2 in 1 conversion. I can use it as a tablet so easily. The screen automatically rotates to the horizon that the screen is up. I hope that makes sense. Bluetooth connects to my phone and a portable speaker I use. I have also connected to other computers and phones to transfer files. I use this as an automotive diagnostic tool. It will run Fords IDS software very well. The finish of the outside of this has a texture to it. You can hold it easier and with more confidence that it will not slip out of your hands or fingers. It is very thin and light to hold. It does not get hot at all. I do not ever hear the fans come on. My only complaint is a personal one that is related to how I use this. Since I am an automotive technician and use this as my diagnostic tool and my library of online information to work on cars and trucks, my hands are often dirty when I use it. Some of that dirt transfers to the finish of the outside of the laptop. I have cleaned it off by using eyeglass lens wipes. I just never noticed that because all of the old computers were black. This Lenovo 720 looks much better in the silver. I am getting about 6-7 hours of battery life to 20%, using the screen at full brightness and always internet connected. Usually during the day I will have I Heart Radio playing local talk radio. When I charge this it fills up very fast. I would get another because I like it so much.

As a graduate student, this laptop perfectly meets my needs! The lightweight design makes it easier to tow between classes, a fully-charged battery lasts over ten hours (believe me, I've tested it), the fingerprint scanner means one less password to memorize, and the machine doesn't come pre-loaded with as many useless applications as other machines. And the speed--I can't believe how quickly this laptop boots up (under 15 seconds!) and processes information. This is my first laptop with a solid-state drive, and I'm never going back. Some reviews mention that the fan for this machine can be a little loud. I've found that extended use can make the fan crank up a bit, but it doesn't feel that loud to me. Definitely nothing so noticeable that it would make classmates or other cafe-goers turn and look. My only uncertainty about this laptop was the price; I'd never owned a Lenovo and had a hard time justifying the high price tag. (I've always purchased "cheap" options in the past.) But I decided to trust the high reviews I found online, and I'm so glad I did. This is an impressive machine, and I feel like I received the quality I paid for.

i purchased this laptop after many good reviews i read and after i got a student discount on this laptop. this was a gift to my sister who just started college and needed a good portable laptop that she can carry around and use for many projects. so far it has been working for her. it feels great and sturdy. quick and snappy! screen is awesome and is light weight and works as a tablet and laptop! Stylish and speedy for the price! couldn't get anything for a cheaper price!

I absolutely love how portable this computer is. It is lightweight and it has the perfect screen size. I also love that the screen can be completely rotated so that the computer essentially becomes a tablet. The touchscreen, itself, is very effective and has the perfect amount of sensitivity (you don't have to press too hard to get a response). The battery is decent, lasting about 9/10 hours with constant use. The computer is also fast, meaning I can upload and download things swiftly and I never have a problem streaming. As for the keyboard, I really enjoy it and also feel that it is easy to type on (again you don't have to press forcefully on the buttons). The only downside is that the color of the laptop causes it to constantly look dirty because you can see all fingerprints. Overall, though, this is a great laptop (perfect for any college student).

I purchased this laptop for graduate school, and it is exactly what I wanted: lightweight, beautiful design, and super adaptable. I love that I can fold it over like a tablet if I want to, but mostly I use it like a conventional laptop. But the touch screen is a definite bonus. I carry this around with me everywhere and it adds hardly any weight to my backpack.

So I had been in the market to purchase a thin lightweight laptop or laptop equivalent for several months now and Lenovo has always been a contender but one thing kept putting me off from purchasing earlier models. If you've done any research yourself you know that the computer community at large had no love the for position of the Shift Key on last year's Lenovo laptops. Honestly, it was the one thing that held me back from making a purchase last year. Comfort and travel time across the keyboard for me is paramount as I can be writing for hours at a time. And, being an owner of several Apple devices, I felt the inevitable tug to add another member to that family. However it appears that patience paid off. I had recently seen a review of the Lenovo 720 13.3 and was impressed in the simple changes they had made. Not the least of which was the reconfigured keyboard to provide a standard Shift Key on the right side. After seeing a display model at Best Buy I knew this is what I had been waiting for. The device is superb. The aluminum body is sturdy and stylish and much lighter than I expected it to be. The track pad is very responsive and accurate and the keyboard is an absolute joy to work on. I've read other reviews regarding the noise from the fans and I can't say that they hold any truth. When I initially started my Yoga the fans kicked over a couple of times and have remained almost silent ever since. And even when they were running the noise was less than negligible. In fact this has to be one of the quietest units I've ever used. The longest stretch that I've used Yoga for has been just over 4 hours and the fans kicked over only twice during that time. I've had varying experiences with laptops and computers that utilize an active touchscreen. The Yoga's is easily one of the best I've worked with. It is very responsive and accurate via touch and I've had nothing but great results using a variety of tools that include Wacom and Elago. The thin bezel makes for a great viewing experience and working area. I have seen some criticisms about the thickness of the lower edge of the monitor but I find this helpful. It raises the screen and keeps the tops of my hands out of view while I'm typing. I've already made use of this at work for a presentation and this area provided a comfortable place to grip the device without activating the screen. I actually see this area as a plus, but I think that boils down to personal preference. I'd also like to note that this unit went on sale 11 days after purchase. I am not an elite member so under Best Buy rules I had 4 days left to contact Best Buy regarding their Price Match policy. I called Best Buy customer service on day 13 and received extraordinary help. The agent was courteous and quickly verified my purchased and provided me the Price Match difference in less than a few minutes. Thanks to both Lenovo and Best Buy for exceeding my expectations.

It is a small laptop, well designed, run fast, good price.

I was looking around for a small affordable laptop with a decent punch in power/processing. This then lead me to start looking into 2-in-1 laptops from Samsung, Dell, and Asus because the idea of also having a tablet would be great. I knew I wanted at least an Intel i5 processor, 8 or more gigs of RAM, and an SSD. In my local BestBuy store, I was checking out various models, when a salesman pointed me to Lenovo’s products, specifically the Yoga 720. The first notable thing was their very thin profile and solid aluminum body, feels great in the hands. The display (although 1080p) is very crisp and bright compared to the competitors. It is also held very securely in any position by the sturdy hinges. The keyboard feels great, and the trackpad is very smooth and responsive (supports windows gestures flawlessly). Apps and such are super snappy and load up quick thanks to the i5 and the SSD. The touchscreen is super responsive in both desktop and tablet mode. I’m very satisfied with this laptop, but I really wish I would’ve opted for the i7 model purely for longevity’s sake. But I really think this little sucker will last for a long time for basic needs.

I went to Best Buy intent on purchasing a Windows Surface. I wanted a super lightweight laptop that would allow me to draw on the screen, art, progress notes, fill in forms, etc. I ended up choosing this over the Surface because there was more RAM, a larger solid-state hard drive, and the keyboard. I wish I could detach the keyboard, but the reality is I use it most of the time. I love the backlit keyboard, the Lenovo pen (purchased it from another site as they didn't have them in the store) works beautifully with it for excellent handwriting capacity as well as art work, and costs $30 instead of $99. From the picture, the pen looks like it plugs in to the USB port as in being rechargeable, but it actually simply functions as a way to keep the pen with the device. It is a pen holder that is plastic that allows you to keep the pen with the laptop. It starts up fast, whether from a full reboot or from sleep vs older SATA drives. I just have to get used to prioritizing what physically sits on my hard drive. But that's the reality of solid state and the cost. I would never do without a solid state drive now
