Leslie West - The Leslie West Band - VINYL LP

The first three are innocent in a way, because we didn't have an audience when we were making them, Oberst says. InchBut from Lifted on, I was definitely aware of an audience. Lifted was well-received right away, and then everything happened with Wide Awake and Digital Ash.Inch Those two albums came out simultaneously. And their lead singles - InchTake It Easy (Love Nothing),Inch from the austere, remote Digital Ash, and InchLua,Inch from the warm, folky Wide Awake - debuted in the top two slots on the Billboard Hot 100. InchFirst Day of My Life,Inch also from Wide Awake, would later be voted the Number One love song of all time by NPR Music's reader's poll. Bright Eyes had officially broken through. It was a heady, exciting time, but also fraughtand tense, both because of the band's careening new fame, and because of the state of the world. When Bright Eyes made their Tonight Show debut in 2006, they chose to perform none of their shiny new hits, instead delivering a searing, harrowing rendition of their caustic anti-Bush anthem, InchWhen The President Talks To God.Inch These days, Oberst is still amusing himself by messing with the extremes Bright Eyes baked into this era's releases, extremes that reflected the polar, with-us-or-against-us, fractious feel of the times. The reworked Digital Ash tracks, originally so clean and elegant, are, on the companion EP, full of Inchharmonica and mandolins - folky vibes,Inch Oberst says. While the analogue sweetness of the Wide Awake songs have been put through a detached nihilism filter. Album Tracks 1. Time Code 2. Gold Mine Gutted 3. Arc of Time (Time Code) 4. Down in a Rabbit Hole 5. Take It Easy (Love Nothing) 6. Hit the Switch 7. I Believe in Symmetry 8. Devil in the Details 9. Ship in a Bottle 10. Light Pollution 11. Theme to Piñata 12. North Carolina-bred, Nashville-based indie country artist Nathan Evans Fox writes songs that trace the fault lines between family, faith, labor, and inheritance, poignantly showcased on his forthcoming LP, Heirloom. Raised on four generations of family land at the end of a dead-end road in Glen Alpine, North Carolina, Fox grew up in a community shaped by mill closures, factory layoffs, and the slow erosion of working-class stability. His sound carries blue-collar critique and community-minded hope into places that might otherwise resist them. For him, country music is about owning your twang, working inside traditions, and making sure the hardest conversations happen in a language that feels familiar. Fox lovingly calls it Inchcomrade country.Inch Sonically, Heirloom brims with Appalachian texture and spirit. Banjo threads throughout the record in inventive ways-bowed, muted, and treated percussively-used less as a symbol of tradition than as a storytelling device. Across his work, Fox is building something larger than a catalog of songs. He's creating space for listeners who don't want to choose between their cultural roots and their hopes for a more just world. His music invites people into hard conversations without losing playfulness or warmth protest hymns that feel like porch songs, liberation theology wrapped in banjo strings, and country music that remembers where it came from while imagining where it could go. Album Tracks 1. Lots of Beginnings 2. Little Bit of Shine 3. Racecar 4. Sevindust 5. Landlords, Bill Lee, Etc 6. Heirloom 7. Negative Space 8. Meanness 9. Hillbilly Hymn (Okra & Cigarettes) 10. Thinking About Quitting No. 5 11. Jesus and the Buck 12. I Know the End
