Saved me this summer
HORTENCIAQ Posted
I bought this ac very last minute when we were going through heat wave and it truly did save us. It was a little difficult to install because the plug was different and we had to switch that. It works very well and is not loud compared to other bigger ac's. This is perfect to have in a living room or any living area in the middle of the house. Totally recommend.

LG is not an AC company
AlexF Posted
We purchased this window unit with the hopes of if being a good bang for your buck. Well it i now firmly believe that LG is a terrible company to buy AC units from. This is my 2nd purchase of an LG window unit. This particular unit did not work from day 1. The fan worked but the condenser would not turn on. Tried resetting the unit and still had the same error code pop up. We are returning the unit and going with a more expensive and better known brand for AC units. Please do not purchase this AC. Sometimes the cheaper option is not the way to go.

Hello, AlexF! Thanks for sharing your experience with us about the LG Window Air Conditioner (LW2524RD). We appreciate your feedback on the unit’s performance and startup concern.
Since this unit is already being returned to the retailer, you’re on the right track toward resolution. For future reference, if the fan runs but the condenser does not turn on, some factors to consider are:
• Power reset (Ensure the unit is properly reset and connected to a stable power source.) • Error codes (Specific codes can indicate issues with sensors or internal components.) • Condenser operation (A non‑responsive condenser may point to a wiring or control board issue.) • Installation check (Verifying that the unit is securely installed and vented can help prevent startup errors.) I bought this ac July 10th 2024. It went out june 25th 2025. I contacted lg. . Repairman was sent. He said its non repairable and sent to lg. Lg is not wanting to replace it. I then spoke with geeksqaud since i paid for them and had to wait till 1 year warrant expired. They came out and said compressor issue non repairable. So its now been over a month in a heat wave with no ac in the main part of my house. And haveing to stay in the bedrooms with our small window units. Do not by a lg there rude and dont care at all. And its 106 degrees today. And has been these twmps for a month .

Hi, Hugo. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Air Conditioner (LW2524RD) model. We want your new unit to deliver powerful, reliable cooling right out of the box—and we’re here to make that happen. If it appears to have been previously used and isn’t operating correctly, it might be a good idea to check the installation and power source to make sure it’s getting a steady flow of electricity. Also, double-check that the filter is clean and that the unit is set to Cool mode with the temperature lower than the current room temperature. You could even give it a quick reset—just unplug the AC for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in to refresh the system. For more help, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-air-conditioner-troubleshooting-poor-cooling--20153313781420.

Not necessarily best buys fault.
AntoineL Posted
Not necessarily best buys fault but im leaving this review to ensure in the future that you maybe leave a description in bild caps about products specs. Had i known this needed 240v power outlet i would not have bought this model. Spent almost 1k and i cant use it. It would cost 2k just to run the necessary wires needed for a 240v outlet. Tears man, tears, when money is just thrown away.

Hi, Antoine. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We strive to provide exceptional service and ensure our customers are well informed and supported throughout their purchase journey.
To help, we recommend verifying whether a qualified electrician can help with wiring a 240V outlet for a more cost-effective solution, as this could open up more options for you with your unit. However, we understand that this might not be feasible, and we want to make sure you’re fully supported in resolving this situation. We recommend contacting Best Buy customer service at 888-237-8289 to address your concerns, offer assistance, and discuss potential solutions.
