The freezer compartment in the LF24Z6530S model comes equipped with a dedicated ice maker that produces Craft Ice™ (spherical ice). This is the specific type of ice produced by the ice maker located in the freezer drawer. The model is also equipped with an in-door ice maker that produces standard cubed and crushed ice via the dispenser, but the ice maker in the bottom freezer is factory set to produce the spherical Craft Ice. Answered by LG Digital Customer CareYour external room temperature and settings significantly impact the ice production rate, and how long it will take for the indoor ice maker to fill the indoor ice storage bin in the Energy Star® Certified LG , but if conditions are favorable, it typically takes about 24 hours to completely fill its 3.0 lb capacity bin from empty, producing roughly 3.0 to 3.3 lbs of cubed or crushed ice per day. The ideal freezer setting is 0°F to -4°F. If you set the freezer temperature higher, the ice maker cycles much slower because the water takes longer to freeze. High kitchen ambient temperatures (above 90°F) make the compressor work harder and reduce overall cooling efficiency, slowing down freeze cycles, and frequent opening of the French doors or the Door-in-Door compartment lets warm, humid air inside, raising internal temperatures and delaying ice formation. A brand new installation takes 12 to 24 hours to start making the first ice, and up to 72 hours for total system stabilization and maximum capacity...^Ivan.
