I did quite a bit of research before pulling the trigger on the LG C1, and it has NOT disappointed one bit. After getting a Xbox Series X, it I was struck by how little of the graphical/color/frame rate could be rendered by my 2016 65" Sony Bravia 4K TV. The 2021 LG C1 OLED solved all that. This TV is absolute gaming beast and looks incredible. I have often stopped myself in single players game to just pause and look around. Newer games like Far Cry 6 (see Chorizo attached) look stunning and play buttery smooth. The suite of features and the handy magic remote make switching between inputs a breeze, and the TV will auto-detect when you switch to a game system (Series X or PS5) and automatically go into Game Optimizer mode. Game optimizer come with FPS, RTS and third mode (I use FPS mode). Also note the Game optimizer is not something you HAVE to have on screen, it's just available at the press of a button so you can confirm you're playing with VRR/Low Latency mode on, etc. If you play FPS games (COD, Warzone, Halo Infinite, Battlefield, etc) then the TV's ability to play at 120Hz (available on Series X/PS5) is a noticeable and game-impacting upgrade. The LG series OLED are also the only TV which can support Xbox's Dolby HDR...gotta hit up YouTube for a guide on how to do that, but I promise the PS5's HDR10 is gonna look marvelous at well. So what about TV and Movie viewing? Playing a 4K ULTRA Bluray is a marvel. Netflix and HBOMAX and Apple content that streams in 4K is a joy. I've never had a TV with blacks this black. It can actually be disconcerting at times, and you may want to tweak you brightness somewhat as some shows with dark scenes can be REALLY DARK. Again, a few YT videos will help guide you to calibrate the OLED pretty easily.

Once you get the settings correct for you and the room you’re watching in, this tv is phenomenal. After a lot of research, I decided to go OLED and I figured why not go with the company that supplies the OLED panels to everyone else. It took some tweaking, and I’m still doing so occasionally, but once you get the settings right on this things it’s incredible. The main thing you will notice are the blacks, which is what separates this tv from the other. And while that may not seem like a lot, you’ll be amazing by how much having the dark sections actually be dark will change a picture. It’s the way the show or movie was meant to be seen. This is definitely a tv for for movies. But it’s really good for sports, too. But if you want the super bright and vibrant colors to pop for sports then go with a mini-LED version as they will be brighter and more vibrant. I find the colors are little more muted when it comes to sports but not in a bad way. It’s a little more true to life but that’s not always what people want to see when watching sports. I’m not a game but the games I have seen on here are absolutely ridiculous. The refresh rate and the dark Blacks make gameplay pop off the screen. Every color up against the super black background jumps off the screen. The interface is meh but once you get used to it it’s easy enough. Launching is a little jerky and slow but once it loads, the interface works fine. I’ve converted to using it for most streaming. The art gallery mode is super cool but gimmicky. On this model you have to go and switch to the gallery mode or change to an unused input, which is simple enough but not seamless. It works really well and the art looks incredible, but I’ve never intentionally used it for more than a couple minutes while checking it out. Overall, this is the best tv on the market, IMO. I’d say if you can afford to go OLED then do so, I’m very happy with the purchase. But if you’re riding the fence and cost is a factor or if you never watch movies or tv shows and only watch live sports, then go for a mini-led and you will be just as happy.

Dark blacks, rich deep colors, smooth motion for both fast and slow changes on screen... All in all it's an AMAZING experience. I've got a Samsung QLED in the bedroom and this LG OLED in the main room and the difference is noticeable with the LG OLEDs abilities to be turned off at the pixel level resulting in a black that's truly black and not just dark gray. Also, my Xbox Series X is truly able to take advantage of the 4k 120hz w/ Dolby vision on this screen. My recommendation: mount it high on the wall and take the time to go through the calibration settings if you are running Series X. I'm sitting with this TV at roughly 20inches down from the ceiling on 9ft walls, and it's insanely comfortable to view. Not a single regret with this purchase.

I initially had purchased a Samsung QN90A and the picture was fantastic however it had some DSE (dirty screen effect) on top of their aggressive tone mapping which would wash out color if it is overlaid on top of darker content. I returned that set. I then went with a Sony X95J and it was fantastic for the first few days until I noticed some serious grid issues with brighter content being watched. I returned that one as well. The whole process I had wanted to go with the LG C1 and honestly was scared of burn in and concerned it wasn't going to be bright enough for my living room which does have some natural light coming in during the day, so I went with the other two sets first and countless hours of research and trial and error later have found the one. This set is just beyond fantastic, its plenty bright and the way it handles color is superior to how the other 2 sets did (the Samsung was close if it wasn't washing out the color). I used Youtube for initial set up and made some small adjustments to match my liking. I have put it through its paces looking for issues with software or DSE but have found nothing. This was my first choice; I should have just gone with it the first time but glad I have it now. That glare you see is as bad as it gets for me, and the iPhone picked up the light a bit more than what I am seeing.
