about to replace an old Dell keyboard. like this new Logitech a lot better thinner and blends in better on my remote office setup. illumination is nice feature that was my second reason for buying this keyboard.

Quiet and comfortable
I was looking for a quiter keyboard to replace one that was 15+ years old and was told that when I was typing while on phone calls it sounded like someone was tap dancing. This keyboard definetely delivers, very quiet and comfortable (stroke to depress keys is shorter, has built in wrist rest). The controls (like volume control) are well laid out and easy to access. The brightness for the backlit keys is easily adjustible, and they work great. Been using it regularly for about a month.

Excellent quiet keyboard
Excellent keyboard, very quiet when hitting the keys. If you want that clicky sound, then this one is not for you. I'm able to type for hours around someone sleeping, and they never hear me. The keyboard is excellent quality, and I've not had one issue with it. Highly recommended.

My Perfect Keyboard
I'm giving this a 5 star even though I need to return it. One of the keys came lose, or rather, was probably defective before I even opened the box. That being said, I use this keyboard at work and at home. Both my work and home keyboards have lasted 10 years now so overall this keyboard passes the durability test. After 10 years, my most used keys are worn off and the backlight shines through where the paint used to be. I just switched jobs and was relieved that after all this time, this model was still available so I bought one for use at my new job. That's how much I like this keyboard. Light presses and short throws feel perfect and I can bang on it when I feel like it and it makes a very gratifying sound. The physical profile of the keyboard is also very good, thin with a perfectly designed wrist wrest. Buy hey, keyboards are subjective right? You probably won't know if you like this keyboard until you buy one. I think over time the price has come down quite a bit on these. The current prices seem really fair to me.

great illuminated keyboard
The K740 Logitech is a great illuminated keyboard, but it does tie up a USB port since it is not wireless. Wireless or Bluetooth keyboards are usually not illuminated. Even if you find one, it still needs to be plugged in to power the illumination, and therefore it is never really free to be moved around. This setup works very well and there is a single wire going out to a USB port, both to operate and illuminate the keys, which are lit at all times. If one uses a Bluetooth mouse, a single USB is required for both the keyboard and the mouse.
