I was looking for a quiter keyboard to replace one that was 15+ years old and was told that when I was typing while on phone calls it sounded like someone was tap dancing. This keyboard definetely delivers, very quiet and comfortable (stroke to depress keys is shorter, has built in wrist rest). The controls (like volume control) are well laid out and easy to access. The brightness for the backlit keys is easily adjustible, and they work great. Been using it regularly for about a month.

Excellent keyboard, very quiet when hitting the keys. If you want that clicky sound, then this one is not for you. I'm able to type for hours around someone sleeping, and they never hear me. The keyboard is excellent quality, and I've not had one issue with it. Highly recommended.

I'm giving this a 5 star even though I need to return it. One of the keys came lose, or rather, was probably defective before I even opened the box. That being said, I use this keyboard at work and at home. Both my work and home keyboards have lasted 10 years now so overall this keyboard passes the durability test. After 10 years, my most used keys are worn off and the backlight shines through where the paint used to be. I just switched jobs and was relieved that after all this time, this model was still available so I bought one for use at my new job. That's how much I like this keyboard. Light presses and short throws feel perfect and I can bang on it when I feel like it and it makes a very gratifying sound. The physical profile of the keyboard is also very good, thin with a perfectly designed wrist wrest. Buy hey, keyboards are subjective right? You probably won't know if you like this keyboard until you buy one. I think over time the price has come down quite a bit on these. The current prices seem really fair to me.

The K740 Logitech is a great illuminated keyboard, but it does tie up a USB port since it is not wireless. Wireless or Bluetooth keyboards are usually not illuminated. Even if you find one, it still needs to be plugged in to power the illumination, and therefore it is never really free to be moved around. This setup works very well and there is a single wire going out to a USB port, both to operate and illuminate the keys, which are lit at all times. If one uses a Bluetooth mouse, a single USB is required for both the keyboard and the mouse.

So far, my favorite keyboard I've used after using a bunch of different mechanicals, wireless, etc. This one is simple, looks good, very easy and comfortable to type on, and is a very no nonsense keyboard that has been around forever. I liked my first one I got for work so much after a year that I got another one for home. Both work flawlessly and using Setpoint vs Options is no reason not to get one.

We now have two of these keyboards and like them very much. Since we're older (76 and 52), we were used to the older style keys (raised up with slight curved indentations), and the flat ones that were on the keyboards that came with our HP all-in-one PCs were much harder to use. The lighted keyboard helps, too, since we mostly go online after dark and don't like lots of light in the computer rooms. This keyboard is much more substantial than the ones that came with the PCs, too (much heavier and stays put), and we like it being wired directly (no batteries to worry about). Last, the built-in wrist rest helps prevent wrist fatigue.

We previously has a wireless keyboard that came with out computer. It would lag sometimes and was also hard to see at night. This new keyboard is fast, ultra quiet and is also backlit. It is wired but that doesn't seem to be an issue with our setup.

The keyboard is out of the box amazing. The first thing you will notice about it is the great design, how thin it is, and it actually has weight to it at 14 lbs. The design is unlike the others that I saw in the store. The clear plastic around the keyboard adds a uniqueness to it that I find rare. Also it is remarkably thin at around 1" without the bottom stands lifted. I like the fact that it's quiet (except for the space bar) thanks to the PerfectStroke™ key system, I am able to type into the night without the clicking sounds that my other keyboards made. Now the illuminated part is what sets it over the top. It makes it easy to concentrate on the keys weather you are a beginner or an experienced typer day or night. Also the fact that it does have four settings: -off-dim-medium-bright lets me choose the level of brightness that suits my needs. Furthermore, the Logitech - Illuminated Keyboard is on the high end side and a little pricey but, if you are willing to pay the $79.99 dollars it is on now. Consider it money well spent.

This is my second one of these keyboards. I bought one several years ago when I wanted a new keyboard and I absolutely loved it. I really like the short throw keys. And it is not too loud, my first keyboard lasted over 6 years and still worked fine. The only reason I got rid of it was because of an issue I thought was the keyboard where I could not scroll up or down but it actually turned out to be a Windows issue.

I really like this keyboard. Soft to the touch, easy key strokes, backlit. The only thing I would change is eliminating the wrist support. Or just make a version without it. Outside of that it is amazing.

I've been looking for an illuminated keyboard for my less than ideally lit computer room. This keyboard fits the bill nicely. The character illumination is even and adjustable. The keys feel good when typing. The "padded" hand rest isn't really padded but that's okay. I really like this keyboard and recommend it.

I love the back lit keys on this keyboard. I tend to work nights and prefer a low light setting. However, that also makes it more difficult to see the keys. With the back lit keys, I can easily distinguish the keys. I also like the soft touch keys and the overall design of this keyboard. Well made.

Bought this Logitech K740 Illuminated keyboard for my husband, as his old keyboard keys were totally worn-off. He loves that this one is lighted, easy to read and ergonomic as it helps to position his hands more comfortably when he types. Great price for a great product!

This is the best keyboard I've ever used. The key stroke is fast, comfortable, and quiet. Key back-lighting is helpful at night. Loved it so much I bought one for my daughter and son-in-law and I recommend it to everyone where I work. Also - you don't have to worry about battery life. Just get it! You'll love it. :)

This is my favorite all-time keyboard of any I have ever used! The key action is comfortable and extremely quiet, which I greatly value (Personally, I just happen to not be a fan of loud, clicky keyboards) The keyboard is spaced nicely and the number section is great to have to the right side of the keyboard. The illuminated part of this keyboard is so helpful and has brightness settings to use at your choice. Some people may not like that it's not a wireless keyboard, but for me, it's not an issue and I'd buy this keyboard even over others that do have that capability. If you've never tried this keyboard, check it out - the keys are very comfortable to type with, especially if you are a heavy user of your computer. Zero complaints - it's my favorite keyboard ever!

Very good look and feel - keys are crisp and well spaced for rapid typing. The three levels of backlighting is also great - I keep it on the lowest setting as that makes the letters look like clear type - not really backlit - easy on the eyes - great keyboard :)
