M83 - Fantasy - VINYL LP

Double vinyl LP pressing housed in a gatefold sleeve. Will Toledo always knew he would return to Twin Fantasy. He never did complete the work. Not really. Never could square his grand ambitions against his mechanical limitations. Listen to his first attempt, recorded at nineteen on a cheap laptop, and you'll hear what Brian Eno fondly calls Inchthe sound of failureInch - thrilling, extraordinary, and singularly compelling failure. Will's first love, rendered in the vivid teenage viscera of stolen gin, bruised shins, and weird S*x, was an event too momentous for the medium assigned to record it. Album Tracks 1. My Boy (Twin Fantasy) 2. Beach Life-In-Death 1. Stop Smoking (We Love You) 2. Sober to Death 3. Nervous Young Inhumans 1. Bodys 2. Cute Thing 3. High to Death 1. Famous Prophets (Stars) 2. Oracular Spectacular features MGMT's signature song InchKidsInch, the funky track InchElectric FeelInch (famously covered by Weezer) and the smashing opening track InchTime to PretendInch. The tunes sound classic and new all at once, paying homage to Bowie, the Kinks, and the Stones, while updating traditional progressions with flashes of Royal Trux, Ween, and LCD Soundsystem. Album Tracks 1. Time to Pretend 2. Weekend Wars 3. The Youth 4. Electric Feel 5. Kids (Feat. Kylie Minogue) 6. 4th Dimensional Transition 7. Pieces of What 8. Of Moons, Birds and Monsters 9. Pocket Fantasy, the sophomore album from Mamalarky is an instant-classic sunny-day record, imaginative and introspective, an enveloping listen of skyhigh hooks and keyboards that soar with joyful abandon. It's twelve kaleidoscopic tracks shapeshift aesthetically and thematically, through ideas about death and impermanence; love and gratitude; nature and technology; humor and hope. Heralded by Billboard, Nylon, The Fader and more, the new album expands on the unique sound of their self-titled debut which Pitchfork called Inchtenderly tangled indie rockInch. On Pocket Fantasy some of the band's purest pop tendencies collide with more warped and weird strains of quirky psych. It's a treasure trove of playful grooves and zigzag riffs, a phenomenal album from a young group poised to carve their own place in the bins of your favorite record store.01. Frog 202.
