About this product

Mannequin Men are the sound of the underdog. That's not a typo or a malapropism. How else can you describe a band that's been kicked around for years and refuses to lay down and die, but instead claws their way to the surface with a total rager of a live show and an album to back it up? It's not an act either. Sure, FRESH ROT takes it's cues from the underground, too, as these guys combined have one of the best record collections in all of Chicago. There are traces of Wipers, Keith Morris-era Black Flag, and pre-Watt Stooges still there are also echoes of the Verlaines and maybe even a bit of Television without the Deadhead-isms. Yet Mannequin Man have their collective thumb firmly planted on the rare ability to tame influence and turn it into new blood. Nothing is half-assed or ripped-off. FRESH ROT is here to creep into your home, drink all of your beer, and remind you that music can still be reckless and fun. Album Tracks 1. Private School 2. We Are Invisible 3. Boys (They Don't Mind) 4. The Pigpen 5. Pattern Factory 6. Sewers 7. Dead Kids 8. Grapefruit 9. Mattress 10. 22nd Century 11. Fun Never Ends 12. Ev'rybody Has Lved Her 13. We Are Free

Solo album from the very talented Maple Bee. The record is largely self-produced but with notable additions from John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails, Cocteau Twins) and Dave Dix (Boo Hewerdine, Eddi Reader). InchAround the World in a DayInch - like, Maple Bee plays most instruments on the record. The record was recorded across a variety of studios, bedrooms and four track recorders. Maple Bee's solo album is just one side of her prolific musical output. From bassist with her sister's band, rock stalwarts Queenadreena, to singer and songwriter with the Mediaeval Babes, to guitarist/vocalist with much respected rock band Vertigo Angels. Album Tracks 1. Bell Song 2. Moth Touch 3. Turn in 4. Hello Eve 5. Around for Eva 6. Sun on Snow 7. Messenger 8. Perhaps Perhaps 9. Sadness Landed 10. City in a Belly 11. Fit in 12. 2014 from the Indie Rock band. By the end of winter last year, the Men had pared a huge crop of demoed songs down to 13. With their plans to take a break foiled by their own work ethic, they decided to record those songs before their 2013 album NEW MOON came out. They booked two days at Brooklyns Strange Weather studios, clocked in, and tracked all 13 songs entirely live, even including a horn section. Eight songs from those sessions made the final cut for TOMORROWS HITS. This is their first album recorded in a high-end studio and, appropriately, the result is their most high fidelity album to date. That being said, it is still an incredibly straightforward record. TOMORROWS HITS is a concise collection of songs that nonetheless expands the band's ever-evolving musical palette. It's full of genre-bending risks, but it reinforces the overarching theme that has come to define it's makers The Men are a great Rock band. Album Tracks 1. Dark Waltz (5 15) 2. Get What You Give (3 22) 3. Another Night (5 30) 4. Different Days (4 33) 5. Sleepless (3 13) 6. Pearly Gates (6 19) 7. Settle Me Down (4 59) 8. Going Down (3 43)
