Maverick Modigliani - DVD

Michelangelo (1475-1564) redefined the artist as a creator with total freedom. A master sculptor, painter, architect, and poet, he pushed the Renaissance to it's peak, risking his career for artistic vision. In 1512, he completed the Sistine Chapel ceiling, a monumental fresco of over 300 figures depicting the Book of Genesis, solidifying his legacy as a revolutionary artist.

Like many artists of the post-WWI era, Pablo Picasso fell under the spell of the French Riviera. The blue intensity of the Mediterranean, it's rugged coasts, balmy weather, and sunfilled days inspired some of his most important artistic breakthroughs. Icarus Films is proud to present a pair of unique documentaries on two colorful periods of Picasso's Rivera life.

In the tradition of art-world documentaries like Stop Making Sense and American Movie, Art Dealers follows eccentric rock-n-roll artist Adam Weiner aka Low Cut Connie, and his band as they attempt to mount a concert production of their recently released album InchArt DealersInch for a three-night run in NYC. The stunning high-intensity performances are laid against a backdrop of five years of footage that shows an artist plagued by bad luck, but who attacks each performance with humor and stagecraft.
