I recently went ahead and pre ordered the Xbox elite 2 controller. A couple days later I got an email saying the elite V1 refurbished was back in stock. I kept going back and forth wether or not I should switch my order. I finally did. I thought why not, let’s save some money. Geek squad states they go through the device practically with a fine tooth comb. I pay for the top shipping to get it soon as I was exited. Today comes and UPS is at my door. I open my package inside and the controllers box looks great. The case looks great. I finally pull the controller out and boom, rattling immediately occurs. I pray it’s just the removable joy sticks. It’s not, it’s the left joy stick. When pushing the button down, it doesn’t even make a noise or makes it feel like you pressed it down. Almost like it’s stuck. I can’t believe BestBuy or geek squad let a product like this leave. I knew I should have waited for the V2 but my dumb self couldn’t wait. This was to good to be true. I will say this and this is why it’s got two stars, BestBuy is working with me. Immediately calling them after I noticed the damaged controller, they sent me a prepaid label and set up a replacement to be received by next week Monday. It’s just terrible I paid for the next day shipping but the replacement comes 4 days later. Could have overnighted its tomorrow since it’s already 5 pm, having me receive it Saturday.

I have already went through 2 of these because they just shut off. Each time I have tried to get them replaced Best Buy has treated me dirty and made me pay more money to get a replacement on something that I already paid to have a replacement for. I really one of these controllers to work longer than they have for the amount of money I have paid for them. I should have just bought the v2 but they were only giving me 100 so making me pay 125 extra for something that shouldve only costed 25 to upgrade.

The Xbox One Elite Controller is easily the best controller I've ever used with either my Xbox or my PC. It's got good heft to it and the rubberized grip on the back helps keep it steady in the hand. Being able to switch out the D-pad and thumbsticks is great, and I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a controller that doesn't have a circular D-pad. Being able to reassign buttons to the paddles on the back is really handy, although I wish you could assign keyboard keys to the paddles as well. All that said, I got a refurb version as there were no new versions in stock anywhere for anything resembling MSRP and there are some slight issues. One of the triggers pulls in a bit more than the other when the trigger locks are engaged and it's pretty noticeable. The left thumbstick also seems to have a tiny bit of stick drift as well. Neither of those things are enough for me to bother with a return/replacement, but it's something to keep in mind if buying a refurbished controller.

The Microsoft Elite Wireless Controller is very well made, however this remanufactured unit had a major issue that was missed upon arrival...the right stick had not been rebuilt correctly and was not rotating smoothly and made a crinkly noise when moved. Best Buy stood behind the purchase and actually replaced the defective unit with a brand new unit right at the store. Best Buy Customer Service gets a 5 STAR for that!

Tiny tiny bit of stick drift , was clean and works well I would recommend getting it, but I got the geek squad protection because of some of the negative reviews of people getting garbage controllers.

It's a great feeling controller. It has the heft of a quality product and all the buttons feel better than the stock controllers. The sticks and dpad feel more precise making gaming much more enjoyable. You also have the option of using pedals for button actions. They take a while to get use to but they're much easier and more intuitive to use. This is definitely a luxury item. You may not need it... but you'll want it. Disappointing though that it doesn't support bluetooth connectivity. But I'm willing to live with it. I think the refurb is a great value and makes it an easier purchase. I went with a protection plan though just in case. If you catch it on the right sale, the refurb + protection plan is still cheaper than buying it new.

I'm not really sure why this controller gets a lot of hate. I haven't had a single problem with it since I've had it. This is my second one that I have owned. It comes with multiple stick tips, different D pads, as well as the buttons on the underside. Beyond that the controller feels premium. It has more weight than a standard Xbox one controller and all around better build feeling. I take off one star because mine did not come with a carrying case. I am not sure since it was refurbished if it was suppose to come with one or not. No big deal since I already had one, but for the price it should have had one.

I got it refurbished and using rewards bucks, so that's the only reason I bought a pricey controller like this, even for my son for his birthday. That said, it's a solid controller and feels like much higher quality (time will tell) than the standard controller. I like the D-pad way more myself. My son is the only one using it, and after trying the quick trigger paddles (or whatever you call them) he has taken them off, so clearly not a game changing feature as he plays all the major games- COD, Fortnite, GTA, etc. If he doesn't fell the need for them, it's probably just a gimmick or placebo to some people. Worth it on a major sale, but beyond that, just get a standard controller.

This elite controller is built a lot more sturdier than normal ones. Buttons and grips feel more precise and I have yet to notice any diminished performance after several weeks of playing. Usually by this time, buttons begin to stick and play suffers. I bought the warranty plan just in case anything goes wrong and managed to buy at a discount while on sale .. All in all, much better than normal controllers and well worth it!!!!

Was a bit scared buying it refurbished but was pleasantly surprised. Could not even tell it was and that's a plus. Was sceptical on how good it was but co-worker said it's great. Once connected and played a game on it was hooked. It feels good and responds quickly. All the customization was a plus. Highly recommend if you can afford it.

This controller really makes a difference. You can customize the buttons to do what ever you want them to. Change the Sensitivity of the Joy Stick and Triggers. The only reason I gave it 4 Stars is because its refurbished. I have a new version and this refurbished one, and compared to the new, the my refurbished one joystick and paddles are loose and the paddle slots have small damage. But everything still works as intended.

This controller fits in my hands better than the original controler. I have a new controller and now this refurbished one. The only difference is that the refurbished one did not have the nice box or the power cable. This saved me $65!

To be clear, the Xbox Elite controller is fantastic, so good in fact that it’s design/perks were copied by third party companies, even for other platforms. Here is where my issue begins: So I am not a serious or profession gamer but I play FPS shooters (COD mainly) probably 3-4 days a week. This is my THIRD controller within 2-3 years due to joysticks that start to move on their own. Nothing paranormal here, the sticks will eventually start to return to a default position slightly off center which can cause the character to move in game (my COD character kept gazing to the skies instead of focusing lol). I also have had an issue with bumper buttons getting stuck or unresponsive. I understand controllers get wear and tear but to dish out $150 annually is just not practical seeing how that is more than 1/3 the cost of the gaming system. Bottom line; this is a great controller for its added functionality but do yourself a favor and get a pre-owned one with an extended warranty and you’ll be fine :)

The reviews for this product have not been positive for the most part. I purchased the controller at christmas and so far it's been an awesome controller to use. I'm using it to game with my PC, not an xbox one. If you are scared of it breaking, get the warranty. for me its been the best controller I've ever picked up.

I just received my elite controller and opened it with excitement and was disappointed when I saw the product. The left grip on the back of the controller was pulled off the plastic, the left side of the controller case was split open like it had been slammed and broken, the controller rattles, the left thumbstick had been chewed on by something, the overall look of the controller was nasty looking. The controller was also missing the charging cable. Hopefully I'm the only one who's had it this bad. I'm going to be returning it in store, will update after my visit.

Impressive at first use, heavy, metal and looks really durable. After having it a month, as a casual gamer I'm not interested in remapping the buttons and switching out joysticks when I play a sniper. Great buy if on sale, wouldn't purchase at full price.

I was really on the fence about ordering a refurbished controller based on the other reviews, but I decided to go for it. Upon opening the box my controller shipped in I was relieved to see that I had received the carrying case unlike so many others and the controller itself appeared to be in almost perfect condition. Unfortunately, closer inspection soon revealed that both analog sticks on the controller were loose. It doesn't seem to have any negative gameplay effect, but it makes me question how "refurbished" this controller actually is. In addition, my unit came with duplicate parts and was missing others. I received two cross d-pads and no rounded one, and I received two sets of the long thumbsticks and no short ones. All of this should have made me frustrated enough to return the unit, but there's one other thing worth mentioning...the controller is great. I bought it specifically for FPS games and after a brief learning period to get used to the trigger stops and paddles I feel like I could never go back to a standard controller. I ended up ordering some replacement parts for what I was missing and keeping the controller. So the moral of the review is: Set your expectations accordingly and you might end up happy with your purchase. Know that there is a good likelihood that your controller might have minor issues or might be missing parts.

Refurbished unit practically new: Box slightly damaged. Controller great This controller is the bomb. Even at $90 seems like a lot - but the quality and function is top notch. I program the right lower trigger for jump and left to run. Makes me a better competitive gamer not having to take my hand off the stick to jump

I literally just opened the box today and it came like this. This is OPEN BOX EXCELLENT condition. It was missing the rubber to the handles and you can see the thumbsticks where it was clearly used alot. It was so dirty also. I couldn't believe that Best Buy sold me something like this. This was my first open box purchase and wow it was terrible. There was obviously NO quality control. What an embarrassing gift for someone. Look at the pictures.

I love the controller and the way it feels and the way I play with it but when I received it in the mail it didn’t come with one of the D-Pads and one of the paddles is a little bit loose when pressing it. Doesn’t affect gameplay but if you’re going to buy this controller, it is well worth it to spend the extra money on a brand new one.
