wonderful movie, with a more gritty story tellling of how the rivalry between Sub-Zero and Scorpion began along with some very nice magic integrated with the way the Kombatants got their powers.

Yes absolutely yes. This movie is an automatically better movie than the 90s one. The action is insane and the cast is perfect.

Not bad movie but I thought it would go more along the lines of the game.

A very entertaining martial arts movie. Not as good as the 1995 original, but good enough for 2021 fans.

MMA fighter Cole, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage-or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth's greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana-the immense power from within his soul-in time to save not only his family but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Story wise is based on MK11 (video game) as Hanzo Hazashi took an oath for revenge the death of his family to Bi Han (Sub Zero). Ashley Vile played the role to awaken Hanzo’s ultimate wish. But, the gruesome & fighting sequences meet MK fans’ expectations. The lack points on this movie when they meet Liu Kang in the desert area for the tournament. Very coincidence. Overall, I like this movie better than MK (1999) version. Looking forward to its sequel !

This film is a microcosm of the direction the Mortal Kombat franchise has taken in the last 10 or so years. The advent of blu-ray and UHD allows for even MORE over-the-top, almost frighteningly realistic blood and gore. Story-wise it is a very good retelling and exploration of the origins of the Mortal Kombat tournament. Recommended if you are a hard-core MK fan.

As a fan of the 90s MK film (Annihilation was trash), this movie is an great reboot. The main character is a little bland, but the original characters are spot on to their game counterparts. Lots of violence so make sure to not watch around the kiddos. Excited to see the future sequels!

Not the best Mortal Kombat movie (just falling short of the original), but still better than the second movie made. This movie takes the storyline in a different direction setting up potential sequels. The action was pretty decent, but parts of the story just seemed rushed.

This movie is a great addition to the Mortal Kombat universe. It's bookended by some of the best martial arts fights. Just about all your favorite characters are there. But just like the video game this is based off of, it's NOT for kids.
