Man there's really much going on here for 1500$ its just rock solid in everything but I will say settings can be made to reduce the fan noise and performance needs to be set on low if your gonna keep fans on auto in order to get it continually at about 40c But if you don't care about fan noise for gaming this thing is crazy powerful for your need 2nd best is what I'd say about this laptop is

I'm a software engineer. I ordered this strictly for side projects. I may play a game or two on this laptop but that isn't the reason why I picked this up. I have a custom build desktop that I built just for that. I really just picked a laptop that was based off of the same specs of my work laptop (Dell G5). At work we do 3D rendering, so I figured that anything with the same specs should work perfectly for what I'm looking to accomplish. Why didn't I grab a G5? Because what fun is it having 2 of the same laptop AND this was a 100$ cheaper and is visually more appealing. So my normal workload on this laptop is Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, Chrome with 95 Stack Overflow tabs open (only programmers would get this joke), Discord, Windows Terminal, File Explorer, and a bunch of things that probably aren't really GPU intensive. This thing hasn't had the slightest bit of lag or hesitation. First off, the pictures of the laptop represented by BestBuy don't do the MSI Stealth any justice. When you pull this thing out of the box it is beautiful. I love how sharp it looks. The Steel Series keyboard gives you the ability to customize the colorization modes so if you are an RGB fanatic like me, you are probably drooling. There is a little fan idle, but that doesn't bother me. Note: I haven't ran a video game on this thing so the comments below mine about screaming fans might be true, but I personally don't care cause I'm usually listening to Lofi Hip Hop while I'm programming. Now to the annoyances: The track pad annoys me a little bit. I noticed that when attempting to scroll in a web page or editor, it kept flicking me out of my programs, even though I was doing exactly what I was supposed to, which was using 2 fingers. Anyways, I bypassed this by just going into Window's touchpad settings and completely disabling the 3 finger and 4 finger gestures because that was killing me. The laptop looks amazing BUT the finger prints drive me crazy. If you have a slight OCD like I do, then you'll understand by checking out the picture I attached of it closed with the smudges on the sides. AND no I was not eating Cheetos while programming. Believe it or not, I 've washed my hands before every use of my new baby. The speakers are sub par, but as an avid gamer, anyone that doesn't wear a headset is already way behind the times. Overall, I love this machine. It does exactly what I need it to do.

I want to review this product higher but my unit seems to be defective. The laptop is solid but I have encountered a few major issues since day one. The Bad... Upon receiving my GS66, I noticed some keys wouldn't light up. I initially figured this was just a driver issue and went on setting up my laptop. However, after reinstalling all of the steelseries drivers for the keyboard, the issue persisted and it seems that the RGB hardware is defective. Over the past two weeks, more of my keys have died out. I would return the machine and try for a new one but I need this laptop for school. I looked into sending my unit to MSI for repair as included with their one year warranty but they leave the cost of shipping up to the owner. This is not possible for me as I just spent a great deal of money on purchasing the laptop itself and I'm hoping to reach a resolution with MSI. I have attached some photos below of my keyboard lit to what is supposed to be a solid color of red, green, blue, and white respectively. Besides my units keyboard issues, the only minor complain I have is that the fans are a bit loud at idle and the trackpad is noisy and feels a bit loose. However, the fan noise is to be expected as there are high performance components in such a slim chassis. The Good... The laptop is build extremely solid. There is little to no chassis flex and the metal build looks and feels amazing. Its also extremely sleek and slim. Despite the trackpad feeling loose, the glass surface is extremely smooth and satisfying to use. Furthermore, the 144Hz refresh rate screen looks and feels amazing - especially compared to a typical 60Hz screen. Overall, the computer looks and feels premium and professional. To wrap up, I wish I could hate this product higher. However, with the keyboard issues I am experiencing, I can not. If it weren't for these issues, it would be an easy recommendation and possibly even a 5 star machine. I am hoping to have this issue resolved and that MSI customer service lives up to the good reviews I have read online. I plan to update this review if my issues are resolved in the future.

I really do love this computer, I only wish the internal fans were so loud. Also, the OEM mouse pad doesn’t respond as readily to double clicks

very good, works quickly, the problem was very hot. Solved the problem, set it up now everything is fine it was a very long delivery.

I am using this device for over 2 months now. No problems, no heat issues, I do hardcore gaming on it. The only thing that irritates me is the loud fan but I use gaming headsets so no worries.

My MSI laptop is fast and the graphic's card is awesome! No complaints at all. I'm overjoyed the employee at the store suggested it to me. The low sakes price was such a bonus!

This laptop is great! Awesome look and excellent build quality, feels strong and durable, while still being considerably light. For the power this thing packs it's more than light enough. Overall experience has been great, I'll separate my experience into pros and cons. Pros: -Per key RGB keyboard -Can be tweaked to stay silent and cool for class -Can game relatively cool -Windows hello webcam (and it works great!) -Thin and minimal design (not screaming gamer) -Loud speakers -Amazing battery life when tweaked! -Nice big trackpad Cons: -FINGERPRINT MAGNET (it will get fingerprints no matter how you use it) -Gpu randomly kicks in during class making fans go off -Keyboard is a little shallow Honestly cannot say too many bad things about it, it's a great laptop for the price (got it on sale for 1,299). My experience has been amazing, however if I run into something I will update.

I was looking for a gaming laptop I could also use in the office and the GS66 Stealth is perfect. After 2 different laptop returns (HP Omen, ASUS ROG M15) I'm very happy with my purchase over 2 months later. The GS66 casing has an elite look perfect to use in the office without giving away it is a gaming laptop. The casing is made of metal which gives this laptop a premium feel versus my old GF65 thin all-plastic casing. The one downside of the metal case is that with demanding games it can get very hot above where the CPU/GPU sit. The keyboard itself stays cool in comparison and you always have CoolerBoost through Dragon Center, which puts the fans at max and removes all the heat from this area. One of the main selling points for me in searching for a gaming laptop was the thermals. The fan design, intake and exhaust points were all considerations. The GS66 has 3 fans versus most other laptops which just have two. The extra fan helps move more hot air out of the unit situated between the two rear exhausts. The laptop exhausts run the rear corners of the laptop with air intake drawn underneath. The fans can get loud while gaming, but still aren't loud enough to be heard in the next room when the door is closed. You can also set custom performance levels and fan settings through Dragon Center. When running RDR2 on high settings my thermals are about 80-85 degrees CPU, 69-74 degrees CPU The GS66 comes with USBC, thunderbolt compatibility, ethernet port as well as 3 usb ports and 3mm audio. The keyboard itself takes a minute to get used to as the keys are a bit larger and therefore a little further apart than I'm used too - yet it is still easy to type accurately. In addition they've located the page up/page dn keys on the right side which makes them convienient for games that require them such as Cities Skylines. Unfortenatly it does not come with an SD card port, which I understand since this is marketed as a gaming and not a creator laptop. Upgrading the RAM is easy as the rear is designed as a door, in other words you don't need to remove half the computer case just to get inside. Just 9 screws to pop off. Two 2666mhz RAM slots configurable up to 64gb. I put two 16gb Corsair Vengence in mine, however you could just put a second stock 16gb RAM with the stock 16gb if find the correct one. This is the second MSi I've owned and I'm very pleased with my purchase. Overall an excellent laptop for the professional by day, gamer by night.

Performance for applications and games is night & day compared to an old laptop I was using. I'd expect anything modern would be a lot faster than something back in 2012. Battery life is excellent for my use case. The 99.9Wh battery goes a long way as I can get a whole days worth of battery life in a single charge. My one gripe with this laptop isn't fan noise or temperature. If you are looking at the GS series you should expect high temps and loud fans during high load or gaming sessions. You can only cool so much in something this thin. My one gripe is quality of the body. For this price this should've been a unibody design like the Razer 15. MSI decided to use a cheap feeling plastic trim for the front. Not only is it cheap, its as though it was just an afterthought. When you feel around the laptop your nails get caught on it, very unrefined. I've owned this laptop for barely over a month and all I have done was walk it up and down the stairs and already the edges of the trim is either cracking or already broken off. So now I'm expecting that front trim will completely break off once I start packing this thing and carrying it around. Again, at this price point, its unacceptable. If I could do this again. I'd most likely consider the Razer 15 since it doesn't have that cheap feel like how the GS66 does.

Been using this laptop for over 2 years now and still runs great. Fans are a little loud but you'll have that with any gaming laptop, and it includes an easy-to-toggle silent mode you can use if you're not doing any intensive tasks. Battery life has gone down as expected but I always use it plugged in so not a problem. Has enough power to run pretty much any game at high settings.

I got this for $1099 and I was quite hesitant to pull the trigger on it. For that price you can’t beat the performance and build quality. Nice display, awesome specs, and great sturdy build quality but this laptop runs hot. CPU temps are around 90-100 degrees while gaming and my GPU reaches about 65-70. The fans are pretty loud but it doesn’t bug me as much because I have my headphones in and it’s something I’m willing to sacrifice if it meant better performance. The MSI Dragon Center is a little buggy but it’s not terrible. The speakers are pretty bad and I would not use them. The SteelSeries RGB software started glitching on me and resetting my keybinds. Overall, great keyboard.

Had this laptop for over a year and still running strong. Only complaint is the fan noise even when just watching YouTube. You can change the user profile for silent fan but takes a while for it to register. Laptop is able to handle demanding games like cyberpunk on high settings so good for me! Would recommend for some who casual games and is on the move.

I did my research and ultimately had this one and the HP omen 15 and I ended up picking this one and I’ll tell you why. First of all way better build quality with a lot better looking laptop than the omen 15 in my opinion. As much as I like amd it sucks they didn’t sell it with the 2060 gpu and you really don’t sacrifice to much with this intel model since it has a really good battery life and thermals which I will get to in a bit. The keyboard is really nice like the per key rgb unlike the omen 15s rgb which is split into four areas on the keyboard. Like the trackpad felt more premium than the omen 15 since this one is glass and the other one is plastic but not to much of a difference. Alright so for thermals this computer is know for running hot but that’s because Msi out the box has its cpu running at full power. There’s some YouTube videos and reddit post on how to easily fix this and after just 30 minutes of configurations to the laptop ( I’m fairly new to pc gaming and for someone that doesn’t know much about it was fairly easy to do so) my thermals went from 90s which is what it comes out the box to 70s sometimes 60s in almost every game but rarely ever hit in the 80s which was amazing. 2-3 FPS lost on some games but most games it was the same or even gained a few FPS. And yes I know the omen 15 also has amazing thermals especially with the amd cpu but if you are getting this laptop for gaming you’ll very rarely ever need the cpu in any game which is why overall I got this laptop. Everything I wanted just and if you ever do need that cpu power for whatever reason you can always set different profiles in the programs used to change the cpu and easily changed from your configurations to the stock ones so honestly I see no reason why I wouldn’t get this laptop over the HP omen 15. But if your looking for an amd laptop omen 15 is definitely your best choice.

The 16gb of ram you get is still ok,but once I put in 64gb of ram it was incredible.So far it has exceeded my expectations.No complaints.Very well priced too and very fast and easy access to the inside for upgrades.I tried a dell G3 before this and this isn't even comparable.The dell performance and cosmetics don't compare.

This MSI laptop has been excelent so far, the build quality is amazing, all metal build, performance has been great, and battery life by default has been around 6 hours on balanced mode, but you can tune it with some software to extend the duration. Track pad is very large, takes some time to get used to it but has excelent feel and is very precise. Keyboard amazing, no complains about it. Be careful while upgrading components as it is not so easy to remove the back cover of the laptop. Note, the XPG M.2 SSD was added by myself, IT IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE LAPTOP.

I am very happy with this laptop. It boosts quickly. It runs smoothly. The build quality is superb & i would highly recommend it to anyone. The only downfall is how loud the fans are. & even louder when you’re running a lot of programs. If this isn’t a problem to you, then stop thinking about it and just buy it. But if you need a silent computer, this one might not be for you.

I am really enjoying my time with this laptop. I bought it primarily as a gaming device on the go for my Steam and Gamepass games but I also have the intention of using it in a school setting as well. It's all black appearance and almost hidden logo makes it easy to bring out at school and the workplace without drawing too much attention and the per-key RGB is a nice touch for when I'm gaming. Due to its RTX 2060, it's not the most powerful card but it is more than capable at 1080 which is what the screen is on this device so I'm happy with it's performance. I knocked a start off due to the fan noise which remains noticable even when not doing anything major. While playing a game, those fans kick up to extreme levels which is good for cooling, tho the laptop still gets hot, which is to be expected because of how things it is, but headphones would be recommended to help block out the noise. I plan on upgrading the RAM and storage with more but as it is now, I am really happy with what I have.

I like the pc so far and don't have many complaints, though the system does come with a fair amount of bloatware unfortunately, MOST of which can be removed. Solid amount of I/O, decent keyboard with custom lighting and the machine is reasonably powerful though the fans do get loud, and in the future I plan to upgrade the hardware such as a second SSD and expand the RAM. It is worth noting that my purchase clearly states that the system comes with windows 10 pro installed but mine is Windows 10 Home. I've been looking around trying to contact Best Buy to ask about this but their live chat doesn't have agents available, there phone line doesn't either, and i don't see anywhere that allows me to send an email or leave a message elsewhere, so if you happen to have issues with your purchase, it may be difficult to contact Best Buy and receive support on their end.
