Q: What is the battery life on this laptop?
A: Currently getting 8+ hrs per charge on a heavier data analysis / data science workload. Also have brightness turned down. I have heard on other dedicated graphics card laptops (like this model) you can turn off the GPU to save battery but I don't know how to do that yet on this model. I could see someone getting 10+ hrs easy on this model with light usage with brightness/power options optimized. I think the marketing material says 12+ hrs, I never believe the published battery life on any Windows laptop (by the manufacturer), but I am happy with the battery life so far. I could perhaps squeeze more out of the battery once I figure out how to shut off the dedicated GPU when I don't need it. I have used Thinkpads and Dell Precision for the same type of work in the past and the best I could get out of the same workload was 4 hrs on a charge brand new.
