I've had a Audio Technica condensor mic since 2001 and been unable to use it directly on my laptop. This does the trick. Why minus a star? I sent it back because gain dial had problems where it flowed well until halfway and then stiffened up and had sudden gain towards the end. Also, design wise, the button sit on the back side of the front of my mic so I have to reach around. Manufacturer cannot account for all of this but a swivel body would resolve this?
