This is a really good lens. Fast focus, sharp photos, good in low light. The low aperture setting is good for a blurred background. Got this on sale for $170, Its about the cheapest lens you can get from Nikon.

This lens is super smooth. The f/1.8 makes a really nice and creamy Bokeh. The lens is really fast, and will really take your photography skills to the next level. I originally bought this lens by itself, and returned it once I found out that they're selling it in a kit with the 85mm macro. It's weird because the first one I had made a lot of noise anytime I focused in on my subject while taking a picture, but the new one I received in my kit hasn't made any noise at all. My recommendation is to buy this in the kit. This is a great all purpose lens, but I love using it for portraits, since it creates a beautiful blurry background. It's well worth the money, and its definitely a lens that every photographer (both new and old) should have in their bag!

I went back and forth between the Nikon 50 mm and 35 mm prime lens and originally bought the 50mm DX from Best Buy, but after using it for a week or so, I decided to take it back and buy the 35 mm instead. The 35mm allowed for a slightly wider angle which was very helpful for shooting indoors. In terms of photo quality, I couldn't tell the difference between the 35mm and 50mm DX lenses so I kept the 35mm to get wider angles. In love with this lens and it's made all the difference in my photos. The 1.8 aperture allowed me to get that blurred background that you see on professional photographs. Don't hesitate to buy this lens, it's a winner!

I got this lens for a low cost option for astrophotography because I was just getting started and did not want to spend too much. It has been great to use as a beginner lens for astrophotography, portraits, and and overall awesome addition to my lens collection! It also came with a lens bag which was very helpful.

I love this lens its great for shooting in low light situations, good for shooting portraits, I have this on both my Nikon d3200 which is what the DX lenses are made for and I have another one I bought for my full frame it works great on my full frame with a significant crop, get the fx 35 mm for your full frame cameras.

This 35mm lens is beautifully crisp, clear, and light as can be. I've been using it for both portraiture, landscape, and some product shots. All of which have been razor sharp and the bohke is exactly what I wanted. I'm using it on a crop sensor so it's a bit more true to a 50mm, which is fine. It gives me the exact look that I'm looking for.

I took the photo below with this lens. Actually this image was made from 53, 5 sec shots taken with this lens on a Nikon D5100 at 3200 ISO and then stacked using registax6. This was from a fixed tripod (no tracking) and likely could be better if I had used any kind of focus aids like a bahtinov mask. Overall I am pretty pleased. Oh, this was the night after I got the lens and the first thing I ever shot with it.

Love my new 35mm Prime lens great bokeh, sharp pictures great for portraits. Paired with my crop sensor Nikon d3300 I get great looking pics equivalent to a 52mm lens.

I purchased the lens to fill the need for close ups with high definition. The f1.8 allows use in low light. The high speed of the autofocus to create some beautiful photos without any processing delays. It is light and easy to carry.

Great depth of field and overall quality is super high. If you have a crop sensor Nikon camera, this is a must have prime lens for everyday use, depending on what type of photography you do. I usually do street photography, portrait, pet and food photography with this lens. I own a Nikon D7500, and this lens brings out the good in it!

If I were to have just one lens I would choose this. Excellent value and light enough to carry around. Takes sharp pictures too.

Got this for a trip thinking it would be easy to just use it the whole time. Ended up going back to my 18-55 lens just cause I enjoy landscape shots and wide angles too much. This is a pretty small focal length and I felt boxed in with all the things I wanted to capture. But at the same time pictures of my dog and plants and objects were fantastic and the low light aperature is great too.

This prime lens has great bokeh. I've been able to step up my game and take some really clear pics. I highly recommend this lens.

I have to say I was blown away with this lens. I did not expect to love it as much as I do. I have the kit lens for a D3200, a 55-200mm 3.5 - 5.6 (I'm guesstimating the f-stop) and a 50mm 1.8D lens. They all have their pros and cons. But the clairty of the lens on the 35mm has dropped my jaw like no other. Even after zooming in and cropping a lot out of pictures I was left with some really amazing photos! This may have to do with the megapixels on a D3200. But this lens made good use of that sensor! Since it doesn't zoom it a bit of a challenge, but one worth taking! I also recommend this over the 50mm 1.8G lens for people who are shooting on DX sensors (or cropped sensors). The 50mm is just too close for everyday, shooting pictures of friends while we hang out. Unless you don't mind backing up to the corner of the room or being 15ft away from the people you're taking a picture of. Enjoy shooting! =]

I bough this for my D3300 that I've had since 2016. Of course a prime lens is much better than the kit lenses the camera comes with, but wow. I really love it and definitely would recommend. I can't wait to upgrade my camera to see the full potential of this lens.
