I purchased this as a gift for my fiance who wanted to start taking up photography. I was nervous about buying refurbished but figured I'd take the chance. Camera works perfect so far and looks brand new. My only complaint is that it didn't come with the lens cap tether and I am unable to find one online without buying another lens cap. Otherwise everything is great and she LOVES it!

I bought this camera for my little sister as a birthday gift, but used it myself when I took a trip to Miami. This camera is so awesome!!!! Amazing picture quality. Pretty good in low light. Impeccable zoom. Fast focus. Can take remote images with my phone. Video quality is great! I've never had a digital camera before this, so I can't compare it to much, but it was wonderful to use! I'm gonna buy another one for myself soon. My little sister loves it!

Unwilling to carry a full DSLR but wanting more than a point and click or phone for a road trip to Spain and Portugal, I bought a refurbished B500 and I couldn't be happier. At under $300 (now closer to $200) this delight gave me great flexibility without the concern of carrying additional lenses or the worry of losing a $2000 camera to thieves. Image quality was good under a variety of conditions. Video is acceptable but not great. It doesn't have an external audio jack for a discrete microphone which would make this nearly perfect. It uses AA batteries, which is a plus for traveling but it's a thirsty little beast (even with WiFi turned off) so pack a box of batteries and plan to refuel frequently. I think I used 5 sets in 18 days. It's heavy enough to recommend using a crossbody sling, which I prefer to a neck strap, making it more comfortable to carry and readily at hand for quick shots.

This is a simple camera to set up and use. It is a great entry level DSLR with a great telephoto kit lens. The photos are crisp and clear. There is no vignetting to any appreciable degree. Overall, I'm very pleased with this camera.

I had a more expensive Coolpix camera, but after many years and lots of pictures, it finally broke. I found this one and ordered it because of the price. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as the more expensive coolpix cameras but it has plenty of modes and scenes to take great pictures. I got it yesterday and was able to take two awesome pictures. Love this camera.

Great pictures, ease of use and very handy flash makes this camera great for young adults just getting into photography. Would recommend!

This is a nice camera, I like the rubber grip for an easy hold. The pictures are nice for an amateur as well. It doesn’t come with rechargeable batteries or a charge to an outlet which is a huge disappointment. It also doesn’t come with an micro SD card so until you buy that you can only take 5 pictures.

Easy to use, once you download the manual. Great photos and editing capabilities. Comfortable in your hand, almost too small but the size makes it easy to reach all function controls. I like it!

Expect a learning curve but once the settings are entered, the camera is easy to use. The zoom is smooth and very quick to focus. There is no shutter lag. We had this model a few years ago but it was stolen on a trip. We were so happy with it we jumped at the opportunity to get another one.

I bought this camera last minute for my trip to Italy. I wanted a good camera that wasn’t too bulky and touristy looking. I didn’t need to spend the money, but I am so incredibly glad I did. I couldn’t have been any happier about this camera. The photos it takes are amazing! The zoom is incredible! It was worth every penny. I highly recommend this camera to anyone. Bonus is it’s purple! :)

If you want great, photos, don't fool around; go NIKON! As a retired pro photographer, I am quite familiar with NIKON products. Nothing beats them. So when my very well loved point-and-shoot mini Nikon camera died of battery corrosion, I had to find another travel camera. I travel a lot and must have a camera that runs on AA batteries, which available worldwide. The Coolpix B500 is the last of the AA cameras available. It is very versatile and fits the hand nicely. Performance is superb and the zoom range is impressive. Due to the chip shortage, you may have trouble finding a new one in a store. Get a "refurbished" one if you can. You can trust Nikon to provide you with a good-as-new camera at a discounted price. I was at the Los Angles Zoo recently and counted three other B500 cameras in use on a very hot and low attendance day. Highly recommended.

Purchased for my 15 year old granddaughter. She was funny when she received it, she said "i didn't know I wanted a camera until I got one". Takes great pictures! She is very artistic and I felt this would be a good way to expand her knowledge in photography. She also loves the color! I purchased the refurbished one, and not a flaw on it.

I purchased this camera to take with me on my vacation because of the size (easy to pack) but I was surprised that it takes really great pictures. It has amazing zoom power and has fast focus capability. I was also impressed that it took pretty decent pictures in dim lighting.

This camera has all the basic features for a digital camera. it feels more substantial than a smaller point and shoot too. The wi-fi feature is especially nice. I got this camera as refurbished for $179 so I really can't go wrong. So far so good anyways, lol.

I was looking for something to take to Italy with me for a press trip and didn't want to have to carry my big DSLR and all of the lenses. This Nikon takes GREAT photos and I love the wifi connection. Just be aware that it takes 4 AA batteries. I bought a battery charger & rechargeable batteries and brought it with me.
