I recently bought this camera for the Nintendo Switch 2 from Best Buy. Overall, the camera works well and feels very solid — the build quality is excellent and it has a nice weight to it, which makes it feel premium. However, when projecting the camera feed on the Switch 2 screen, only half of the image is displayed. I’m not sure if this is a software issue or something related to compatibility. Despite this, I’m satisfied with the product so far and hope a future update might fix the display problem.

Pretty high quality camera, captures at 1080p, 30fps as described. Wide field of view to catch multiple.subjects for games with multiplayer. A little expensive at standard MSRP.but i managed to get it on sale about 50% off, which is a steal.

It's built sturdy, has a wide lens capture with hi-quality picture output, BUT can be a pain to find the right angle, and is definitely overpriced for what it is. Buy it on sale.

I pre-ordered this gor my Switch 2. It came the same day I ordered it! My delivery driver was super nice. I plugged it in to my Switch 2 and it worked as described in the product description. This was a blast to pkay with the family and brought back are family gamw nights. Do I recommend? Yeah I do! Go and buy the Switch 2 camera if you want to enhance your switch 2 experience!

Super easy set up, works great with Nintendo chat and picture quality is pretty good too! A little smaller than i imagined so it gets in the way less than i thought it would!

The camera itself doesn’t struggle much to pick up on your face, and the image quality isn’t terrible. The price however would and should cause hesitation. There are very few games, especially at the moment, that utilize the camera functionality. Even then, it’s simple and gimmicky. If you don’t foresee yourself using the consoles new chat features, I wouldn’t spring for this.

Not the best quality, I don't quite understand how people are using their cameras with a big group but it does make games more interesting & fun!

Low usage for the Switch 2 but it's still a cool accessory to keep around for GameChat.

What to say it works the switch 2 frames it ok, placement is a little difficult but it might not get used very much

When the Switch 2 had it's first Direct in 2025, and they showed that a big feature of the system would be the camera, I was skeptical. They marketed it as a huge way to stay connected by allowing essentially Zoom calls while voice chatting when you play games with friends, and some games offer unique features with it. I unfortunately don't have friends that play games online with me, and I only have one friend that has a Switch 2, so I have not tried it for the voice chat. I have tried it for Mario Party Jamboree and StarFox, and it's adequate. Nothing ground breaking, but cool to see fun gimmicks in today's gaming climate. Mario Party has unique minigames that use it almost like the Kinect for rhe Xbox, and StarFox allows for Vtuber skins of the StarFox cast while using the voice chat feature. Both of these in ideal conditions work well, but there's a lot of caveats that get in the way in terms of the lighting, angle, and distance of the camera. Since the camera also runs on USB C, you can use it on a computer, which worked nicely for a Zoom call I was on as my built-in camera stopped working. The camera is 1080p, so it looked pretty good on the call. My main issue with the camera is that you can't lower the stand. It would be most beneficial for my gaming setup to have it in the center of my screen, but due to tthe height of the stand, it blocks my screen, leading to me only busting it out when necessary, rather than leaving it as a part of the setup. Maybe once more games use it, it'll be worth it. For now, it's definitely an optional peripheral. Nowhere near useful enough unless you have friends who play Switch online all the time. For that, it might be worth it. But for the average person, ypu can totally skip it and miss nothing.

I have used this twice to play mario party with my kids and some family. They enjoyed the replays after the game but it often missed the moments because it doesn’t do any tracking, it just has you put a circle around your face that doesn’t adjust when you move, and kids are always moving, which is annoying. Overall its fun. Great field of view to see an entire room and quality is good enough to see your fun moment

I don't know if I will every really need this. I bought it for Mario Party Jamboree's expansion games. It seems to work OK. The stand not being adjustable vertically is annoying and limits the locations you can place this. It tracked the users only OK. I expected more for a first party item while using a game it was specifically designed for.

It wokrs great i got it specifically for star fox on the switch 2 for the augmented reality features and it works good. Sadly there juzt not many uses foe the camera on the switch 2 and you cant use it for anything else other than the switch 2. But it is a well made product. So if theres a game you want to use it for or if you have a bunch of friends on nintendo switch 2 that you want to do video chat with them go ahead and get it when its on sale otherwise dont bother cuz you wont use it and it will just sit there and colelct dust.

I don't think this is worth the full price. I got it when it was on sale. It works fine but there's nothing special about it besides the fact that it's the official Nintendo camera.

With this being the Nintendo branded camera it is not bad for the size and specs of what it can do. The slight disappointment is that it is still in 1080p, with the new switch doing 4k seems like Nintendo skimped on resolution which is very noticeable. They also do not have a good enough system set up for this yet. Not worth the price at this time.
