I have heard all kinds of things about No Man's Sky, from its procedurally generated worlds to its impressive planetary scale. However, I avoided buying it in 2016 due to some of the backlash I heard about it not being complete or offering what was promised. Cue in No Man's Sky Beyond, a re-released version of the game with all the updates installed with it on the disc! And boy are there a lot of things added. For starters, there's base building, which is something I really enjoy after playing games like Fallout 4 and Minecraft. You can create a base on any location on any planet you wish, and it feels good to build your own space colony of sorts. Another addition is multiplayer, though I haven't used that yet since I don't have the subscription to play online yet. And furthermore, there are more story elements and quests to run and even a third-person view which was not present in the original version. These additions make the game feel like an experience you can call your own, and I love it. On the downside, there are still a few goofy things like weird-looking alien lifeforms as a result of the procedurally generated creatures system. And while the game technically has a story, it can still feel aimless as you might just get lost in what you want to do (though honestly that's more of a good thing since there are a lot of things to do). You can explore the planetary surface, build your base colony, pilot starships, engage in space battles with said starships, trade with aliens or just simply wander the impressive open world (open-planet?) environments in the game. The feeling of hopping in your spaceship and blasting off the planet's surface into outer space without any load times at all is still something to behold, even more so when you look back at the planet you were just on and see how massive it is. Or even the opposite when you enter the planet's atmosphere and the landscape slowly materializes as you make contact with the surface. It's an interstellar wonder to just experience these elements in this game, and I am happy it was re-released with all the additional content and updates on the disc. This is easily going to be one of my most played games ever.

Over 100 hours in and Im still enjoying exploring the endless universe in this game. I use it on the PS5 and it’s got a next gen upgrade available. It definitely makes the game feel like it’s running on a high end PC. It also takes advantage of the haptic controls and is awesome and even addicting to use(very satisfying). I love all the different elements that this game offers. It’s a game that has one of the hardest tutorials but worth the grind once you figure out how everything works. It’s not for everyone but I think everyone can find something they like about it. The game gets constant upgrades and updates. They recently added alien pet collecting so always something to look forward to working on. I really love that this game is out there, can’t wait to see more fro what they have to offer.

Nice gameplay with good graphics. A bit like minecraft in space, but with more to explore and a fun take on crafting from elements like oxygen and cobalt. We don't have the VR system yet, but it's nice to know we can play it in VR when we do.

This game was a shipwreck at launch, no doubt, but the devs stayed on their sinking ship, patched the holes up and really fixed it up! The game is now great to play. It' basically Minecraft in space! The best part is, the devs keep adding free massive updates as well!

If you’re looking for a new space related game to play then look no further! I know this game has been out for a good while and didn’t really get many good reviews when it first came out but the developers have been working hard to update the game and change it into what they wanted it to be as well as what the fan base wanted. This is a very in depth/complicated survival type game, they also have a creative mode and online multiplayer. So if you’re looking for a new game to play with friends for a month or two I would recommend it.

Very good exploration game. It has a story that can only be uncovered if you put time and effort to look for landmarks and by talking to npcs. Overall fun game but can get really repetitive

No Man's Sky on the PS4 is readily fun from the get-go. The problem, however, is that the game does not allow for game saving on the fly, and consistently crashes before the player can reach a point where the game can be saved. This renders No Man's Sky completely unplayable until an additional 12 GB update is downloaded. The idea that the developers released a physical media game to market in this broken state with apparently no prior game testing whatsoever is infuriating, to say the least. After patching, the game has shown no other technical problems, and is a lot of fun to play. Before spending money on this game, please understand the very likely possibility that this product is absolutely broken until the latest patch is applied.

My experience with No Man's Sky was... everything that every other review will say, it was a bottomless pit of just... sad unfinished content. The developer sold us this idea, and it was everything but that. However, low and behold, they continued to update the game and at it's current state, it's well worth your time and money. If you have doubts based on what was initial a sad release, I say give NMS another chance to be one of those "pass the time" games. Take it from someone who bought it full price from day one on PC. The NMS of today is so much closer to what was promised to the gaming community when we first caught wind of this new and unique take on a SciFi Space Exploration Simulator. The experience was enough to recently get me to buy 2 copies for PS4, 1 for myself, and 1 for a loved one. Let me tell you, we've been having a blast, building our base, taking up random missions, and exploring the countless, relatively unique worlds spread throughout the cosmos.

This game.. this game is in another level, extremely huge open world, I will say its so good and so many things to do, all the updated that they have made to it has improved this game to a 10/10.

This is everything I've ever wanted in a game! Who wouldn't want to openly explore the universe? I love being able to travel to all the different systems, craft new upgrades and items and make contact with different life forms. It seems overwhelming at first, but you will quickly get the hang of it. I've only had it for a week and have put 25 hours into it already. If you like crafting survival type games and wish to freely explore the universe then get this game! You will not be disappointed!

No Man's Sky is an immersive intergalactic sandbox absolutely filled with things to get into and do. It's honestly a little overwhelming if you're not prepared to commit to it. If it appeals to you, I'd say it is very likely to deliver what you're seeking and more. It's crazy deep, and they just keep adding more to it.

Took 'em long enough but lemme tell ya, This is the version to play. It's a pretty good VR game, as well. Pretty immersive. I don't think you can argue with the value of this for it's price; It's absolutely a joy to play and experience both with and without VR. I'd recommend it any day.

Very fun game that did a complete 180 reversal from when it was first released (from what I’ve read) free upgrade to PS5 version which is nice!

A little confusing as it there are really no instructions for gameplay and it is a rather complicated game. Nice graphics, interesting premise, and cool gameplay once you figure out what to do. You're going to need to look up help guides that will explain how to create and build things etc. otherwise you will be lost. Again, once you figure it out though it makes for fun and interesting gameplay,
