About This Item

No-No Boy is the musical project of Vietnamese American singer and scholar Julian Saporiti. On his Smithsonian Folkways debut 1975, named after the year Saigon fell, Saporiti investigates his own family heritage as well as life in WWII Japanese internment camps, immigrant detention centers and refugee camps in 2020, and other stories of immigration that illustrate the complexities of becoming American. His songs are the epitome of folk storytelling in the modern era, as he interweaves histories with field recordings from the sites of collective trauma and fragments of Asian American musical tradition, from jazz to rock, to choral music. With his plaintive, direct voice, he takes listeners on a deeply human journey through the Asian American experience in the US. Album Tracks 1. St. Denis or Bangkok, from a Hotel Balcony 2. Imperial Twist 3. The Best God Damn Band in Wyoming 4. Gimme Chills 5. Close Your Eyes and Dream of Flowers 6. Honouliuli 7. Pilgrims 8. Where the Sand Creek Meets the Arkansas River 9. Tell Hanoi I Love Her 10. Khmerica 11. Miss Burma 12. Tony Ramone

Tim McGraw - Biggest Hits - VINYL LP
4.0(1)

Vinyl LP pressing of this 2018 collection by the country music superstar. - When Tim McGraw debuted in the early '90s, few would have predicted that he would eventually take over Garth Brooks' position as the most popular male singer in country music. Yet that's exactly what he did, thanks to a string of multi-platinum albums. His sound epitomized the strain of commercial country that dominated his era updated honky-tonk and Southern-fried country-rock on the up-tempo tunes; well-polished, adult contemporary-tinged pop on the ballads. McGraw simply wound up cranking out hookier hits on a more consistent basis than any of his peers. By the late '90s, he was not only a superstar among country fans, but a mainstream celebrity with a large female following. He signed to Big Machine for Two Lanes to Freedom, which was released in early 2013; the album spawned three back-to-back number one singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including InchHighway Don't CareInch with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban guesting and Humble & Kin Album Tracks 1. Indian Outlaw 2. Don't Take the Girl 3. I Like It, I Love It 4. It's Your Love (Feat. Faith Hill) 5. Just to See You Smile 6. Something Like That 1. Live Like You Were Dying 2. My Little Girl 3. Felt Good on My Lips 4. Highway Don't Care (Feat. Taylor Swift & Keith Urban) 5. Humble and Kind
