About this product
Limited vinyl LP pressing of this 2016 . The second full-length statement from Memphis' Nots, Cosmetic fearlessly attacks the rough edges between desire, deceit, appearance and reality. Not chanting down Babylon, Natalie Hoffmann screams straight into it's face. In this game of death, Nots run through the maze of mirrors with sledgehammers- oh, the sound of mirrors smashing-let's smash some more! Nots are still a wild guitar band, but above and below the guitar, bass and drum pound, Alexandra Eastburn's analog synth blurps melodies and nonsense, teasing squiggles of freedom which defy the false grid of modern life. With Hoffmann on guitar and vocals, Eastburn on synth, Charlotte Watson beating drums, and Meredith Lones steering a solid path through the chaos on bass, Nots are neither content with the smug Inchstare at your shoesInch approach of bands from both coasts, nor an Earth-hugging Inchwe need to get back to natureInch hippie cop-out. There might not be any answers here. That might be the point. Nots have arrived at the next level of their attack with confidence and music that lays waste to the wasteland without romantic attachments

Gold colored vinyl LP pressing. While going through his attic in 2018, famous guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen (composer of the worldwide hit InchVenusInch), came across some unique, almost forgotten and unreleased demo material recorded by The Motions back in 1967 in the legendary GTB studio in The Hague. Keyboard player PP Everts suggested the original singer Rudy Bennet that something could and should be done with these songs. After some radical re-working of the material, with arrangements done by PP Everts, Rudy Bennet and guitarist Alan McLachlan, plus a rewriting of the text of InchWarm Me BabyInch by Alan, the song swere taken into the rehearsal room with the full band. The results were so exciting, that it was decided that the tracks should be re-recorded and released, 52 years on from the original sessions! Erik Kuylaars was invited onboard to produce and oversee the whole project. Under his inspiring leadership and with the invaluable help of engineer Iwan Pronk, all the songs, apart from a few overdubs, were recorded by the band in one take. Recorded contains both the 1967 demos as well as the new re-recordings. Album Tracks 1. A Little Bit of Heaven (2019 Recordings) 2. Warm Me Baby (2019 Recordings) 3. 20 Miles from Home (2019 Recordings) 4. I'm Wondering (2019 Recordings) 5. A Little Bit of Heaven (1967 Demos) 6. Warm Me Baby (1967 Demos) 7. 20 Miles from Home (1967 Demos) 8. I'm Wondering (1967 Demos)

The RT's - Their forthcoming self-titled album - out Oct 22 - celebrates these changes. Never Let Me Down 5. Guilt (FT. Ana Egge) 6. What's Done Is Done 7. Rest My Case 8. Waiter 9. Maryland
