About this product
If indie rock has become, for the most part, an endlessly rotating set of established signifiers in 2009, then Nurses' second album, Apple's Acre, is perfectly at home in it all, skipping amid everything from bits of electronic echo and glitch to clap-along sentiments to cracked-voice ruminations on home and love - and all this within the first song, InchTechnicolor,Inch so if nothing else the band knows how to put all the pieces together from the start. But from there, as with far too many acts in the field, things barely vary - having learned their lessons all too well from acts like the Flaming Lips and the Decemberists, Arcade Fire and Animal Collective, Nurses proceed to provide exactly what is expected of them and what their audience presumably expects. There are big sentiments and big singing, swathes of reverb and senses of vast spaces, twinkling keyboards and crashing bells, an emphasis of treble over bass on all fronts. If there was more to remark on, more that provided an individual stamp, then there would be more to say - but if Nurses are content to be the new Supertramp like so many other of the acts that have come before them, then let them have at it at their leisure. But little surprise if many listeners would tire and look elsewhere. Album Tracks 1. Technicolor 2. Mile After Mile 3. Caterpillar Playground 4. Man at Arms 5. Apple's Acre 6. Bright Ideas 7. What Then 8. Winter 9. Lita 10. Orange Cymbals

Vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. No Code is the fourth studio album by Pearl Jam, originally released on August 27, 1996. Following a troubled tour for it's previous album, Vitalogy (1994), in which Pearl Jam engaged in a much-publicized boycott of Ticketmaster, the band went into the studio to record it's follow-up. The music on the record was more diverse than what the band had done on previous releases, incorporating elements of garage rock and worldbeat. Album Tracks 1. Sometimes (Album Version) 2. Hail, Hail 3. Who You Are (Album Version) 4. In My Tree (Album Version) 5. Smile (Album Version) 6. Off He Goes (Album Version) 1. Habit (Album Version) 2. Red Mosquito (Album Version) 3. Nurses return with DRACULA, the follow-up to their 2009 homemade psych gem APPLE'S ACRE. Dracula is steeped in the strange pop brew that bore APPLE'S ACRE, with the band's unmistakable elastic melodies, heady pop hooks and unconventional knack for catchy songwriting that gets under your skin. But where APPLE'S ACRE was an insular album, recorded primarily in an attic in Idaho using just an internal Macbook microphone and primitive recording software, DRACULA is bursting. It's bolder, heavier, with deep grooves, dubby basslines and a focus on rhythm. It's an album with pure physical qualities. Album Tracks 1. Fever Dreams 2. You Lookin' Twice 3. Extra Fast 4. Through the Window 5. So Sweet 6. Trying to Reach You 7. New Feelings 8. Wouldn't Tell 9. Dancing Grass 10. Gold Jordan 11. Eternal Thrills
