  • General
    • Brand: Olympus
    • Model Number: V207051SU000
    • Product Name: OM-D E-M10 Mark II Mirrorless Camera with 14-42mm Lens
    • Color: Silver
    • Product Set: w/ 14-42mm Lens
    • Camera Model Family: Olympus E-M10 II
    • Digital Camera Type: Mirrorless Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: NMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: Four Thirds (17.3 x 13 mm)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 4608 x 3456 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Zoom Capability: true (This function allows for magnification of the subject.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 60 - 1/6000 (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: f/3.5 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: f/5.6 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 100 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 25600 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 100 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 12 seconds
    • Shooting Modes: Program; aperture priority; shutter priority; manual (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • Panorama Mode: true
    • Scene Modes: Portrait, e-Portrait, Landscape and more (Exposure modes with predetermined optimal settings for capturing specific scenes. Examples include Landcape, Portrait, and Sports modes.)
    • White Balance Modes: Fluorescent; Sunlight; Tungsten light; Flash; Shade; Overcast; Underwater; 2000K - 14000K (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 16 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Micro Four Thirds
    • Lens Type: Standard Zoom
    • Minimum Focal Length: 14 millimeters (The minimum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The shorter the focal length, the greater the area of scene captured.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 42 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • In-Lens Image Stabilization: false (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. Lens stabilization means an element within the lens moves automatically to counteract detected motion.)
    • Lens Series: Olympus M.Zuiko (The product group that the lens belongs to, based on similar shared features.)
    • Lens Model Number: M.Zuiko 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II R

Q: Is the main lens or the telephoto lens, motorized? Are they available as manual?

A: No, the lens included in the kit with this camera is a manual zoom action lens, this is done by turning the middle ring on the barrel of this lens. For a compatible zoom lens with motorized zoom action, please take a look at the Olympus EZ (electronic zoom) line of lenses, such as the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ Lens or the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ Lens.

Q: Would this be considered a DSLR camera?

A: Technically NO It is not a DSLR. Traditional DSLRs all contain a Mirror and Prism (optical Viewfinder) The E-M10 MkII functions much in the same way a DSLR does but it is Mirrorless and has an Electronic Viewfinder

Q: Would this be a good option for fashion photography?

A: Yes, this type of camera can be used for fashion photography, specially when paired with our higher end lenses, such as the Olympus M.Zuiko Pro lenses. These lenses are compatible with this camera, or any other Olympus OM-D or PEN series cameras.

Q: Is this a digital or film camera?

A: This is a digital camera. Olympus has not made film cameras for many years.

Q: Does my old SLR camera's OM mount lense work on this camera.

A: You can use older OM film lenses on Modern Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras by using a lens adapter. Fotodiox still makes these adapters.

Q: i have a minolta x-370 and was wondering if my lenses will work on this camera

A: The camera you mentioned has a different mount (called MD mount) and Olympus uses m4/3 (micro 4/3) mount. Quick answer is no. But there is a MD - m4/3 adapter, not sure if the $100 purchase would be worth it.
