Quentin Tarantino enters the area of his own industry with this plot about a fading TV actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Brad Pitt) who strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood's Golden Age in 1969 L.A. The plot of this buddy comedy/drama revolves around the 2 actors trying to make a comeback, which gets them involved in the Italian spaghetti western industry. The protagonists (if there are any in a Tarantino film) in this Hollywood plot are interwoven casually with the members of the Manson gang at the time of the Sharon Tate murders. The names of the characters mix several real life (although deceased) individuals with the members of the fictional cast to bring historical notes to the competing plots. The characterizations aren't without controversy, but that is just what Tarantino does in all his films.

Saw this one a while after it came out, and I finally bought a copy for myself. It's a long movie that moves rather slowly at times, but its exceptionally entertaining. It's cast very well, and the storyline ends up drawing you into it. Do Not Miss the last half hour or so of this movie! The ending will blow you away!

Beautifully shot movie that pulls on many heart strings throughout. From the acting performances to the score, a tribute piece to Hollywood and the transitions anyone might have to make in any difficult circumstance or even over a lifetime.

Great movie You have to understand Marilyn Manson before seeing it to understand. Great acting by both actors. Entertaining

You know what they say about Tarantino - "See it once. See it twice. Then see it again..."

I really didn't expect much from this film. I had seen the previews and I wasn't wowed, so I waited and took a chance on the DVD which was offered at a very reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised. Quentin Tarantino has captured the feel of 1969 Los Angeles, and his well cast group of actors brought their "A Game" here. Brad Pitt is exceptional and DiCaprio gives a brilliant performance. Margo Robbie is perfect as Sharon Tate. This film has intense drama blended with some nice humor and multiple cameo appearances to boot. The Manson Family is not the focus of the film, but they are evident throughout and a few unexpected plot twists make this one of 2019's best films.

The writing, directing, music compositions & acting were superb. This talent driven piece moved me immensely. I saw it opening weekend & recently purchased a DVD copy. I truly believe this to be a cinematic masterpiece, and one of the better films directed by Quentin Tarantino. Every beat, every angle on screen was fabulous, including the period costumes, and story-line. Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio were incredible together, I LOVED their chemistry on screen. We loved the relationship between the canine & Brad Pitt too! Once upon a Time In Hollywood is a film for everyone! It was definitely a good purchase.

There was nothing I disliked about the film...including its long running time. I am glad that some extra footage was added and released with this DVD. Tarantino does a great job with the various locales, the set design, the clothing and the cars in this film-I think that's exactly how the 60's looked-even though I wasn't born yet! Pitt and DiCaprio complement each other so well. Watch this film the best ending ever-only wish it could've happened this way in reality!

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood deservedly received multi nominations and awards. It is a fictional movie which focuses on 1969 Hollywood/LA (including the fact based true horrifying Charles Manson cult Sharon Tate murders) and is a nostalgic view of a what some called "the golden age of Hollywood". The standouts are writer/director Quentin Tarantino , and actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt and includes the last film performance of Luke Perry.
