This tenth volume in the 'Next Generation Mozart Soloists' series presents works that are less frequently recorded, including a concerto for two pianos (in it's original orchestration), separate movements for violin and orchestra (an Adagio and two Rondos) and, following in the footsteps of the Baroque concerto grosso, the Symphonie concertante for oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon and orchestra. It's an opportunity to discover a superb array of soloists from very different backgrounds the Sakamoto piano duo, 2021 winners of the prestigious ARD competition in Munich; the Syrian violinist Bilal Alnemr, a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra; the Frenchmen Nicolas Ramez, also an ARD winner, and Gabriel Pidoux, an existing Alpha recording artist (ALPHA789); Theo Plath, principal bassoon with the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra; and Blaž Sparovec, principal clarinet with the Gurzenich Orchestra in Cologne. Album Tracks 1. Piano Concerto No.10 for Two Pianos in E Flat Major, KV 365 2. Rondo for Violin and Orchestra in B Flat Major, KV 269 3. Adagio for Violin and Orchestra in E Major, KV 261 4. Platts Chooi Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Falletta - Tragedie de Salome - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Florent Schmitt was a student of Massenet and Fauré, and winner of the coveted Prix de Rome. His impressionistic style blends influences ranging from Debussy to Wagner, with references to Stravinsky and other contemporaries. Conceived as a ballet but revised as a symphonic poem, La Tragédie de Salomé depicts Salome's dangerous seductiveness with subtle magnificence. Narrative symbolism also applies to the evocative word painting of the exquisite Musique sur l'eau. The perilous saga of Oriane et le Prince d'Amour contrasts with the poetic tapestry of orchestral colors in Légende, in a version that replaces the original solo saxophone with violin. Album Tracks 1. La Tragédie de Salomé - Part 1 Prelude - Danse Des Perles 2. La Tragédie de Salomé - Part 2 Les Enchantements Sur Las Mer - Danse Des Eclairs - Danse de L'effroi 3. Musique Sur L'eau, Op. 33 4. Oriane Et Le Prince D'amour - Suite, Op. 83Bis 5. Legende, Op.66 (For Violin and Orchestra)
