The Peak Design tripod has been worth every dollar. It’s insanely compact for how stable it is, which makes it the first tripod I’ll actually pack without debating it. The build quality feels premium, it sets up fast, and everything locks in confidently with no wobble or cheap parts. What really stands out is the design. The quick release system is smooth, the adjustments feel intuitive, and it’s easy to get level and dial in the exact framing without fighting it. For travel, content creation, and professional shoots where space matters, this tripod is a game changer. If you want a tripod that’s lightweight, durable, and clearly engineered by people who actually shoot, Peak Design nailed it.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this tripod at first becuase of how expensive it was but am glad I did. It has a premium quality feel to it and is incredibly portable. I'm about 5' 10" and this tripod stands almost as tall as me when fully extended but once its fully collapsed its about the length of just my forearm making it super easy to toss into my travel bag. I would highly recommend this tripod to anyone who is looking to take their photography/videography on the go but needs a versatile and super stable tripod.

First tripod to buy. It was easy to use. Very sturdy and small compact which makes it easy to carry around. Took to Joshua Tree and did well during night shooting. Really recommend to buy.

Product is really really good! This is my first tripod ever and I really liked it. It was a really good purchase and despite the price, I could definitely say that it is really worth it.

There already are many very thorough reviews of this tripod available online and I fully agree with the positive attributes that have been described. Most notably, it's very well made and the compact shape is wonderful for traveling. I am an amateur photographer with moderately light weight gear so this tripod seems to meet my needs and is a joy to work with. The ball head is smooth and solid and I don't mind that it does not pan in a fixed plane. I thought that the aluminum legs seemed a little flexy due to the 5 segments but it is still quite firm when it is set up. It's attractive, functional, and compact enough that I am likely to carry it with me more than other typical travel tripods.

I have had this tripod for about a month, and it has exceeded my expectations. I'm not a professional photographer by any means, but I've used it to film a short video with my iPhone, and also managed to get some good family photos. It sets up faster than any other tripod I've seen, and I love how compact it is. The device is extremely high quality, consistent with other Peak Design products. There is a built-in cell phone mount so you can put nearly any phone on the tripod. It tucks away nicely within the tripod so you won't lose it. Sure, it's more expensive than other tripods, but for my hobbyist use case, I don't foresee me ever needing a new tripod in the future.

This is the most sturdy tripod i have seen on the market, this works like a professional tripod and yet 1/4 of the weight! The Carbon Fiber is beautiful and the legs, parts, attachments all are high quality and will last a lifetime

I bought this tripod to take long exposure shots with my Fujifilm and Sony cameras. I know the price is super expensive compared to others, but the design and engineering that went into this tripod did not go unnoticed. It is built super well. Just remember that you are putting your expensive setup on a tripod and trusting it not to fall. Don't let the tripod be our achilles heel that causes heartache.

It is excellent in all ways it describes itself, functional, sturdy and lightweight. After using it for a while I would prefer it had included an arm or some way to better maneuver the camera while mounted. For the price it is a specialized tripod that is meant for travel (with all the pros and cons of that), if that’s what you’re looking for it is a great pickup.

This tripod is absolutely worth it. I use it for content creation and it has everything I could ask. The swivel head can tilt completely sideways, its easy to pack up and break down, and super small but feels sturdy! I love the thoughtful features put into it like the hex key that locks into the tripod in case you need to put on/take off the plate.

Love this Peak Design Tripod. Very easy setup and use. Compact design for traveling. The Ball Head has a one handed adjustable ring to position your camera to the exact position you need. The head uses a ARCA compatible plate with a quick lock and release button on the head. Tripod can also be put in a low profile mode for shooting macro shots. Fits right up on the side of my camera backpack. Lightweight. Great for shooting indoors or outdoors. Very stable. Bought the aluminum model. Oh yea, also has a built in bracket to use with your phone.

This is not an exaggeration! This is by far the best compact travel tripod out there, so innovative! It fits perfectly in any bag! At 3.68 lbs it’s so lightweight! So many good features! If you are in doubt go watch a YouTube video, cause there are many videos on this tripod! Quality seams to be the #1 concern because it’s up there in quality!

Lightweight and functional- solid construction I use it with my camera but am looking for a telescope adapter for the system

I wanted to jump on this product's KickStarter but missed out and was happy to see it at Best Buy. This tripod has a great combination of being both compact, light and stable. It is very well thought out. For example, there is a hidden compartment that holds a cell phone holder that you can use to attach your cell phone to the tripod. It's very easy to step up and have yet to find any problems with it after a few uses.

I can’t even believe how much I despise this Tri-pod. I’m a pro Photog, I shoot NYFW, celebs, bands and commercial shoots as well as commercial video. I was looking for something to take with me on the go. I have no issue paying for quality and went with this Tri-pod. Figuring the premium price would grant me a high quality product. Wrong. Peak Design has some nerve selling this for $350 and the carbon fiber for $600. For a travel Tri-pod!!! The overall design and compact design is perfect. But that’s where it stops. The ball head. Super cheap feel and leaves a lot of room for your camera to fall off. There are two mechanisms to lock your camera in and both are very cheap feeling. I wouldn’t dare trust my rig on there. Also you are limited to the angles you could use. The legs extend ok but again... feels very cheap. The clamps to lock the legs seem like they will break after about a month of use. The gimmicky cell phone holder it comes with is useless and your cell phone will slide out slowly. It’s so small and weak. The very first thing that will fail on this Tri-pod will be you knocking out the hex tool from the leg holster. For some bizarre reason they made it so you have to attach the plate to the camera with a hex tool instead of a slotted or d ring system. So now they had to give you a hex tool that is attached to the leg of the tripod. I have no idea what the reasoning was behind that. This tripod feels like my beginner insignia Tripod I had when I started photography about 8 years ago. This is a crime to be sold at this price. I can’t wait to return mine.

Tripod is awesome. Definitely portable for the size and strength I need to hold my full frame camera. Love everything about it: The built in phone holder; able to rotate the camera to portrait mode or different angles and feel confident that the tripod will hold it; and the ability to mount the camera "upside down" or really low to get those low or up-angle shots. The size when collapsed is perfect for carrying it around as compared to other "full size" equivalents. I can stick it in my water bottle pocket on my backpack. If you are concerned about weight (and that is your top priority), then you'll may want to pony up for the carbon fiber model. You definitely feel the weight difference when you carry both models. Although for me, I don't really mind the weight as I am used to carrying heavy loads when going out. I was ok with dealing with the "heavier" (aluminum) version as I did not want to spend more $$ on the carbon fiber. But, if you got money to burn, I say go for the lighter carbon fiber model. Lighter is always better, but for those that don't really care about weight as much, save your money and get the aluminum model. Cant go wrong with the Peak Design tripods.

this tripod is incredible. it is ultra portable, rugged, and lightweight. it is also capable of going lower than any other tripod i ever owned for some great low angle shooting

This is a well-built streamlined product. Heavier than the carbon fiber version, this was exactly what I needed for my astrophotography hobby. Peak Design is a beast!!!
