About this product
On their sixteenth studio album, Far And Wide, The Pineapple Thief feel more like a rock band than ever. Still progressive. Still masters of spine-tingling atmosphere. Still attuned to the strange, troubled world around us. And now, a decade and seven albums on from the arrival of Gavin Harrison on drums - they capture the chemistry, road miles and bigger stages of the last few years. You can hear that real-time heat in these songs. From the moody tones of opener New World Order, this music punches hard - all teeth and commanding shadows, without sacrificing the subtle twists and lightness's that come to them so naturally. Rock songs of real class and nuance, in other words. Far And Wide is about shared ground. An abstract collection of feelings about the state of the world, tapping into human experiences in ways that perhaps only music can. Album Tracks 1. New World Order 2. Hold the Ashes 3. Still Living 4. God Knows 5. This Empty Space 6. Scattering Like Flies 7. Through the Noise 8. Who Wants It 9. No Exceptions

Having recently announced that Snapper Music will be representing Porcupine Tree's Transmission tag worldwide, new CD and LP reissues of the band's extensive catalogue will roll out throughout 2021. In Absentia was Porcupine Tree's seventh studio album, first released in 2002, and was the first in a run of three albums that for many represent the pinnacle of the band's artistic achievements. Not many albums can claim to have created a new genre, but with it's fusion of metal, progressive rock, ambient textures, and acoustic singer-songwriter styled material, it became something of a blueprint for a generation of bands to come. It was also something of a breakthrough for the band, eventually going on to sell three times more than the band's previous releases. In Absentia features many of Porcupine Tree's most beloved songs, including InchTrainsInch, InchThe Sound of MuzakInch and InchBlackest EyesInch. While not a formal concept album, many of the songs have common themes related to serial killers, youthful innocence gone wrong, and observations of the modern world, setting a template for many of songwriter Steven Wilson's future songs. Porcupine Tree released their last album, The Incident, in 2009, marking another step forward in the incredible journey of the band that began as a solo studio project created by Steven Wilson in the late eighties to a multi grammy nominated act and one of the world's most revered live bands, selling out arenas across the globe and wowing fans with their incredible performances. This new 2LP Transmission 2021 reissue of In Absentia is presented in a gatefold sleeve and remains faithful to the original artwork. Album Tracks 1. Blackest Eyes [04 24] 2. Trains [05 55] 3.
