Pokémon Violet was more fun than I imagined. On par with Arceus, it's open world and filled with engaging dialogue from the residents of Paldea. As someone that grew up with the original 150 Pokémon, it was a thrill turning the corner and encountering a completely new species never seen before. It definitely reignited the feeling I had as a child playing Pokémon Blue on the Gameboy for the first time!

This is a great way to get the game as a gift for a loved one as it includes the DLC. Indigo Disk portion offers a good challenge compared to the base game and many recent Pokemon titles
