I love this mouse, I haven’t experienced any problems with it and the response rate is basically instant.

Overpriced for a technology that's needed- but not yet viable. With modern CPUS, even with the strongest rigs and setups, the performance hit of 8k polling rate is still too much. With modern games that are well optimised like OW and valorant, you'll still see but frame divits/stutters.

Best gaming mouse hands down, for first person shooters that is, definitely worth having in your arsenal

Got this on sale for like $40 and its well worth it. Coming from a deathadder,this mouse was good and bad. Good: 1. The sensor is accurate just like my deathadder,but Im not sure if I notice any difference with the 8k polling rate. 2. The mouse is very light. 3. The side grips feel better than my DA. 4. The mouse wheel has a better grip and slight more resistance than my DA,so its less prone to accidental scrolling. 5. Two extra buttons on the right side for either lefties,or just additional bindings. Bad: 1. The cord enters the mouse way too close to the bottom,so it makes the cord drag across the mouse pad and desk. This creates annoying drag thats really noticeable. A mouse bungie would correct this,but i didnt need one with my DA. 2. The side buttons are smaller and lower than my DA,so its harder to quickly press them when needed. Overall if you can get this mouse on sale,i would say buy it.

There is a single one star review for this product that faults the mouse for the 8k hz feature not working. In response, its working fine for me. For the time being you can also switch to 1k hz polling rate if your game does not work. This is a new feature so obviously it won't be perfect on day 1 (though it is for me). MOST people (myself included) will not be able to tell the difference between 1k hz and 8k hz usb polling rate. Useful info - This mouse is geared for medium or smaller size hands. It is also very lightweight. I came from a Razer Deathadder that I didn't know was too big for my hands until I got this mouse. My aim in FPS games is so much better as the size of the mouse makes it easier to move precisely and the light weight makes it super easy for the fine adjustments in your aim. Only had this mouse a few days as it just came out and my aim is much better. Love this mouse as the size and weight are perfect for my hands. Other features - optical switches are supposedly more durable and accurate so that is a plus. Cord is not stiff like my deathadder and doesn't seem to snag or get in the way when playing games. The size and extremely light weight are the standout features for me. My gaming has improved since switching to this mouse. If you have large hands, this mouse is not for you and you may actually get hand cramps because the fit isn't for you. The 8khz feature is a 2021 feature refresh, the old razer viper without this feature is not going to be sold along side this one. Basically its an extra feature that could be useful but should not be the main criteria for selecting this mouse.

Nice and clicky very responsive and very slick not to mention the sick RGB obv it’s wired so if you don’t like that oh well but the response time is something else wow not to mention it’s VERY VERY LIGHT so easy to maneuver

Great mouse! Design, feel, weight and Razer Synapse software change the settings of the mouse is really good. Regarding the polling rate, 8khz is very fast but with current processors, you will see a hit to your frames. The CPU usage goes up by 20% or so. Using 8khz polling rate is ahead of it's time right now. You can mitigate the frame dips when moving the cursor by putting the polling rate at 4khz. This is what's ideal to use until the next gen processors can handle the 8khz polling rate.

Razer fan here. I need a replacement for the Mamba Elite mouse as my 5th button began failing. This is an ambidextrous mouse, so it lacks the ergo curvature, but it's lightweight. 8k polling seems like a gimmick, but it's something you have to adjust to. Better precision, but you have to adjust, as it variably slows your movements you were used to before at 1k. But overall, it's been a great replacement! (Now if Razer could fix their software, that would be great...)

I really like this mouse. I don't like overly complicated gaming mice. I like them simple and performance based. And, this one is that. The only issue I had with it was dust or debris getting into the scroll wheel sensor. This causes the scroll wheel to jump back and forth randomly while scrolling. This can cause detrimental issues while gaming. I used to use a Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex. But, its mechanical switched would cause a double clicking issue way before the mouse would reach its usage range for the swites. The Viper 8KHz does not have this issue because of the optical switches. And, it is a great improvement over the G303. I wish they would make a version of this mouse with a dust restistant scroll wheel sensor like the endgame gear op 8k v2. Then, it would be the perfect mouse. As for now, I am just simply tired of having to disasseble the mouse to clear dust from the scroll wheel sensor.

The Best Mice for the money the 8000 polling rate feels good smoothie dont work with all games and you news a really good pc for that

Honestly, a solid mouse! Its got good quality and feels good to handle. It's perfect for games that need quick reaction time (fortnite, COD, Valorant, etc.). The one problem I have with it is that the switches may start acting a little bit wonky. In my case, whenever you pick the mouse up and sit it back down, it registers as a click. Other than that, it's a good mouse!

TL;DR: The mouse is good while it works. But dealing with multiple broken mice in only about 1 year of use even after FREE replacement isn't really worth the time and the money. Wow, where do I start. Saw this mouse on sale and figured I would give it a shot, switching over from a Logitech G502 which was going bad. The Razer Viper itself isn't bad. Its lightweight and it fit my hand pretty well. However, after about 10-11 months, it just died. No response, nothing. So I though no worries, these things happen, let me reach out to Razer support. They were pleasant and after some back and forth, let me send in my mouse for a replacement. And the replacement was good... for about 1 month. It had a different issue. The scroll wheel would skip or miss inputs. At times, it would scroll in wrong direction! I tried a few troubleshooting guides and used some compress air to clean it out. But there was no change. And at this point, wasn't really willing to play the warranty game with support. I'm not the most meticulous guy in the world, but I do try to take care of my things. The mouse never leaves the desk either. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Razer products for a while. As a side note, I also purchased a Viper Mini around the same time. The scroll wheel started to go bad in the exact same way after using as a backup for about 2 months. Might not be fair to leave this note here but Best Buy won't let me leave a review there since they no longer carry it.

Great mouse in every way but the mouse wheel is very still. I’m not sure if mine is defective or if it is supposed to be that way. Much more still than any other mouse (gaming or regular) I have ever used. Even the previous Viper model is easier than this one. Synapse gave me issues until a Razer rep told me to reinstall it (it wouldn’t let me map the mouse sensitivity DPI to the left mouse buttons since I want to be able to change on the fly and not have to life the mouse up and push the single toggle button to cycle through the presets). The grip on the sides is superb and the mouse is extremely lightweight and responsive. I took off stars for the mouse wheel since being able to scroll is very important and if your hands get a little sweaty, you may end up having accidental mouse button presses in order to roll the wheel (like I did).

By far the best of the over 1k polling rate mice, and the only useable one if your like me and play with finger tip grip. This is due to the other high polling rate mice just being too big. In some games the polling rate causes lag. GTA5 would lag out with anything over 2k, and Destiny 2 have very small frame drops with anything over 4k. I suspect this is not due to system load, as the polling rate had a limited effect on CPU usages with my 5800X. Instead I think its due to the games not expecting so much data from the mice (and keyboard if you run some Corsair boards). Is the polling rate noticeable? I think so, and I think its worth picking it up over just about any other wired mouse, its not even that much more expensive. I have a feeling it will be like high refresh rate screens were for me, noticeable when I got one, and VERY noticeable if I try to play on anything 60 hz,

Fantastic mouse - I own a Logitech G Pro X Superlight, which is already a great mouse. Then was told by a friend that this 8hz sensor was simply amazing - and it definitely does not disappoint. If you play FPS games this mouse is it.

Is the 8k polling rate noticeable? yes. But theres a catch currently and its entirely game dependent not the mouse itself. The catch is not a lot of games support it yet so you will get frame drops from moving your mouse and its not worth at all cause your game is gonna feel like a crap shoot. Overwatch supports it and i love how it feels compared to 1k or less polling rate. Even just browsing web pages and what not feels so much more precise when i have the 8k on. When more games support it youll def want a 8k polling rate mouse if youre a total sweat in the games you play. if youre strictly casual i doubt you care about these kinda changes anyway. Im a very sensitive person when it comes to my set up and im a sweaty greasy try hard in my comp game titles. 144hz to 240hz was noticeable, 1000Hz polling rate keyboard to a 4k Hz polling rate was noticeable, 1000hz to 8k Hz was you guessed it noticeable. if youre looking for a new mouse honestly think its a good idea to pick one of these up cause youre still able to simply turn down the polling rate to 1k like any other mouse and enjoy the games you currently do even if they dont support 8k polling rate. Switches feel really nice compared to the Viper Elite that by no means felt bad regardless if youre on 1k or 8k polling rate. only mentioning the polling rate here cause im sure someone probably had the idea it would feel insanely different, hasnt yet to me.
