Although purchased for the Rode M5 condenser mics, it could likely be used with any pencil condenser mic. The device is rather simple and very easy to use. It allows for me to not only do a stereo recording, but I can also just focus on recording separate sections of my acoustic guitar at the same time for different mixing options later. Would be nice if it was a bit longer, but I'm not sure if that would cause stability issues for a mic arm or not. I haven't ever really had any issues with Rode products--they offer some affordable options for the struggling home recording musician. Would definitely recommend.
