Runs incredibly fast although it does run hot but you are paying for this I would think you have a motherboard in the hi end range like this m.2 right here and they have heat sinks with thermal pads already included so there should be no worry there to stop you from buying this product I chose a 4tb because I upgraded from two 2TB 990 pros wich already are lightning fast the 9100 pro is a gen 5 and does run faster and 1 slot reads faster as well

I used to own the 990 Pro 4TB, and this Gen 5 SSD is surprisingly cooler than the 990 Pro, especially the controller. The NAND is a bit warmer but still much cooler than the 990 Pro's controller. It's visibly faster when copying and booting from Windows. However, this drive unfortunately does not provide any improvement in Random 4K Read Q1T1 which is very important to real life use after Windows startup and during gaming.

Performance on this drive is absolutely insane. Sequential reads up to 14,800 MB/s and writes up to 13,400 MB/s on PCIe Gen 5, numbers that would have sounded made up a couple years ago. If you have a board that can actually take advantage of Gen 5 speeds, this thing flies. The price is the hard part to swallow. At over $1,300 for 4TB, it is a tough number to justify on paper. That said, this is not really Samsung’s fault specifically. NAND prices across the entire industry have spiked hard because AI data centers are eating up a massive share of the world’s memory and flash supply right now. Every manufacturer is dealing with the same squeeze. If you can catch this on sale, it is absolutely worth grabbing. Full price is rough, but the performance backs it up.

I installed this drive in my new PC build, and the performance is absolutely stellar. The PCIe Gen 5 speeds are blazing fast, making file transfers and loading times nearly instantaneous. It was straightforward to install and has been completely reliable so far. Highly recommended for anyone looking to max out their system performance!

This SSD is on another level. I upgraded from a Gen 4 drive, and the speed difference is immediate. Windows boots in seconds, and my games load nearly instantly. It stays cool under pressure and hasn’t skipped a beat. The 4TB size gives me plenty of room for large video projects and my game library. If you want speed without compromise, this is it.

This is a solid NVME SSD drive, Make sure you do not forget to remove the thin plastic sheet that covers the drive's surfaces when you unbox them. And of course, make sure to install them with NVME drive heat-sinks, or they will burn up.

Great storage capacity and amazing speed for gen 5 slots, make sure your motherboard has a gen 5 slot and you’re only using one nvme slot if you want full performance. At full speed this drive is insanely fast!

Needed to more storage so got a new samsung. I havent been able to test the speed because im using in a slower m.2 slot, but the thought process was when I need a new mobo it will speed up. Tech is always advancing so fast. Hard to keep up with advancements.

I was in a tight spot after my PC started to BSOD out of nowhere, my first thought was that something happened to the OS Drive (Samsung 990 Pro), but that wasn't it. I ended up replacing half of the build in search of a solution and it might have been Windows' latest update (August 2025) breaking the OS, I currently own 4 Samsung drives in my system and the oldest one is almost 10 Years old and well the fact that my “allegedly” bad OS drive was a Samsung and chose to get another from Samsung is a testament to how good they are!

I love this SSD. It’s fast, it’s huge, it’s easy to install, and I’ve had zero problems. Highly recommend.

Excellent read/write speeds compared to previous 990 pro. I noticed during high heavy application loads this has a roughly 8-15% chance of minor hitching/bottlenecking with a 13900k and 64gb ram at 6000mhz. Otherwise, simple read/write of files and application loads of everyday use is excellent! Great for 4k/8k video transfers. Price? Fair for the value, but always look out for the wonderful Best Buy sales.
