This Samsung TV is the first I've purchased in 10 years, so the difference is quite significant from my previous Toshiba Plasma. That said, I do appreciate electronics and understand the technology. So prior to purchasing this TV I did a lot of research as the TV I was going to purchase had to be a good looking, low profile, smart TV that had the DirecTV Ready feature. Along with everyone else, I didn't want to pay too much money. After all the research, landed on this model, and I'm very happy with the quality of the TV & non-DirecTV features. Connection to my wi-fi was simple. Once connected, signing into my Netflix was a snap. Picture looked great, and decent sound for TV speakers. The remote is extremely simplified, and after playing around with it, came to appreciate the layout/look/functionality. As I eluded to, the only feature that I'm not satisfied with is the DirecTV Ready feature. I upgraded to the DirecTV HD Genie and the small deca device that connects to the TV. Was difficult for DirecTV to install and get programming to work, and since it was correctly programmed, it has been inconsistent with programming, mainly live TV and strangely a couple channels that are the main offenders. Not going to ding the Samsung TV too much, due to the fact that I'm not sure if its DirecTV or Samsung causing the issue(both could be at fault too). What has been the best solution to resolve programming issues is to unplug the TV for 30 seconds. Overall, Netflix, On Demand and recorded shows work well, the TV looks great on the wall and its a very nice picture, so I'm happy. Hoping with future software upgrades comes more consistent live TV programming through the DirecTV Ready feature.

I had previously purchased the 39' Insignia 1080p with Roku because I was looking for something small enough to fit in an armoire. On a second trip to BB I stumbled onto this TV by accident looking for a sound bar for the Insignia. This was displayed separately from the other tv's in the 40' class so I completely missed it on my first search. Although I did love the Roku on the Insigna, the picture on this TV was 10 times better and I was able to run an Ethernet cable into the TV for streaming. I love love this tv. You will not find a better 40 tv. Picture is amazing and streaming is fast with Ethernet. I may still get a sound bar as the sound from the speakers is fair at best. Kind of expensive for the size but like I stated before, I needed something 37 inches or less in width to fit in an armoire. No "Ragrets" HAHAHA Would definately buy this tv again.

I just purchased a Samsung 40 inch Led 2160 4K Ultra HD TV, to replace a 50 in model that I gifted to my brother, as I moved to a smaller apartment. The Geek Squad set me up by combining my Polk speakers, klipsh Woofer, Dennon Receiver a Samsung DVD TO create the Ultimate Entertainment Package. All my Electronics Audio Viisual Components were purchased from Best Buy ! I HAVE never Been Happier with any entertainment package prior !!!

Recently bought an Xbox One S so I decided to upgrade to a 4k TV. But I decided that I would get one with HDR. The TV looks really nice. Vivid colors and it is really bright. Can't go wrong with this TV.

i bought this tv to use as a computer monitor and couldn't be happier. Amazing picture w/ HDR, thin bezel, and a slick user interface. Great purchase!

I was worried about a curve TV but i was more than pleased, surprised and awed. I needed to build out over a fireplace to hang the TV and now it is like a piece of architecture, design element, and a piece of art complimenting my room. Not just a big blog on a wall. It is hypnotizing and really makes me happy.

One year in, I'm impressed with this, the smallest of the 4K UHD HDR TVs available. Blu-ray discs played from my Oppo 4K player look exquisite! Practical gripes, applicable to most 4K UHD HDR TVs: - Remotes either have too many buttons (with no thought about making the ones used most often bigger) or too few (such that every activity involves navigating a hierarchical menu). This remote falls into the latter category. Get a Harmony universal remote or, if you like a remote with few buttons, rely on the Apple TV remote, a more skillful implementation. - The user intrerfaces of the native streaming apps suck! Get yourself an Apple TV 4K for a better experience. - Not all HDMI inputs support HDR. In the case of this TV, the port that supports HDR is not the one that supports ARC, which makes it difficult to integrate with the latest receivers.

Ok the hard part first you need to turn on the HDR for the HDMI port you are using it for. You go into settings>picture>HDR and then turn it on for whatever port you need it for. I am using my PS4 in HDMI 1 with HDR on and the games look amazing! I am truly blown away! This Samsung is the be all end all at a price point you just can't say no too. $550 with tax. I thought 1080p was the best but this TV really looks great with color and picture quality. I run my Laptop, my Cable, PS4 and I use a scart box to HDMI spliter to my TV and my retro gaming systems look very good makes me cry its that good! I use the Dreamcast, PS2, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, NES, NEO GEO, Sega CD and all of them look really good but the SCART to HDMI helps a lot it runs in RGB which is better than AV or component cables. Everything going into my TV is HDMI and I use like I said before a HDMI splitter so I can add all my other components easily. I am very pleased with what this TV does and no joke once you see how good your games and movies look you will call in sick for a week! This is what HD TV was supposed to be 10 years ago!

The picture quality is great, the colors are bright and I love the convenience of it being a smart tv. Also, the set up is easy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Very easy setup, connected to wi-fi in seconds, and has an unbelievable picture. Even without 4K input, the HD quality on cable TV channels is much higher than our previous HD TV. I doubt we'll get into purchasing 4K movies in the near future, but the quality of the picture has made it worth the upgrade. Only downside I see is the remote, which has been turned into a touchpad/click remote. Can't go directly to a numbered channel with this remote. If that doesn't bother you, the TV is exceptional.

This TV was purchased in order to utilize the 4k HDR capabilities of the new Xbox One S. It delivers beautifully! Crisp, amazingly clear picture. Vibrant colors, deep dark blacks. This TV is a great buy. The User interface is very clean and easy to use. Wifi connection is a breeze allowing access to an unbelievable amount of apps such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc. There is also PlayStation now functionality as well as gamefly streaming for all your gaming needs. Just pair a PS4 controller up to the tv and you can stream games from either of those two services easily. This tv does it all! I highly recommend taking a look at it.

I bought this set after seeing high contrast levels and excellent blacks levels in the store. The picture quality is excellent. Samsung's Smart TV is easy to use. Additionally, it makes a great 4K monitor. I am able to view four work documents at one time. It is impressive in the way in displays both high and low quality input from the internet. It is worth the extra expense for Samsung's High Dynamic Range

I almost took the set back to the store when I was first installing the stand. I couldn't figure out why the screws would not thread into the holes, and didn't want to cause any damage. After a few google/YouTube searches I discovered that the holes were not threaded, and that you'd need to drive the screws in with force, threading in the process. That might have been worth mentioning by Samsung in the instructions. The picture - it's excellent. Great HD/UHD images via the apps (Amazon in particular). I also have a 4K GoPro, the playback of that footage is brilliant too. The remote is great, and only took a moment to get use to. I love that it can control all of my attached devices (Apple TV, Xbox One S, HDD) without any additional setup. My only complaint is that whenever I turn the tv on (and even off sometimes) it also turns my Xbox and AppleTv on as well, even if they were not the last app in use when the TV set was on. I haven't spent much time figuring out why that happens, or how to disable that "feature" however. Overall a great set though.

Overall, picture quality is good with HDR, fits perfectly in my room. I recommend in purchasing the Monster HDMI cable to enhance the overall performance.

I purchased this model of Samsung 40" HDR 4k TV to use as a monitor, I wanted to reduce space required for my longtime 2-monitor setup. We used this first as a TV for about a week and were very impressed with the great picture. Dark blacks, crisp colors and overall superior picture whether through Nettflix, DirectTV Now, Amazon Prime of Time Warner. As monitor it is fantastic. A huge amount of screen content at the perfect resolution of 3840x2160 at 125% display size for text. The ideal Programmers monitor for the few using Visual Studio and great for displaying email in Outlook along with a huge browser session. !00% satisfied with all functions as a monitor or a TV. One final comment - far superior to the one lesser model without HDR feature. I had problems with that one, SAMSUNG UN40KU6300FXZA, I'd stay away from that and buy the this UN40KU7000. a great upgrade when on sale.
