The sound bar was relevantly easy to install. The kit gives you several options to install on the wall. The sound is very good, and it has a LED display in the bar to let you know what is happening when you adjust the volume. Compared to large multi speaker systems it is not a bad choice if you do not want a large bass module placed on the floor.

I was looking to upgrade our old receiver setup that we've had since 2011. When we moved into our house, I could only connect the front three speakers and the Sub due to the room layout. I've always been curious to the performance of sound bars, but never jumped since I assumed they'd sound just OK at best. This is an impressive component in my opinion. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough connections considering how manufacturers are scaling back on the inputs in their equipment. Thankfully, I had an HDMI splitter, so I was able to connect everything that I had previously passing through the old receiver. The setup was pretty painless, but one stickler for me now that everything is going WiFi, that means I have to download another app to my phone to finish the setup. I love the convenience of WiFi and streaming music directly through the sound bar, but it still irks me when I have to download an app. I added the HW-M650 to my existing setup, removed old receiver and re-ran the activity set up and I was off to the races. The soundbar itself produced comparable sound to my HTiB that also had a passive Sub. I cranked the bass on the soundbar all the way to the max and it sounded decent for our TV room. Samsung makes an optional WiFi bridge to connect a wireless Sub and other speakers to this unit - I might have to look into that because I do miss the "boom" of a woofer. Make no mistake, like any sound bar I've encountered, this doesn't replace a true 5.1 or 7.1 setup. But it does a good job. From a connection stance, it includes a Digital Audio input, HDMI-In, Aux-in and HDMI-Out. That's on top of WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Since the sound bar is connected to my Smart TV, I really haven't put the Bluetooth through it's paces beyond when I played with it during the setup. Pros: ------- * No wires running to satellite speakers * Bluetooth / WiFi provide extra connectivity * Multiple digital inputs, (HDMI, Digital Optical Audio) * Various sound modes (Surround, Movie, Sports, etc) Cons ------- * Bass needs to be cranked up to max FYI ----- * Soundbar is much larger than others, so measure your space * You'll need to plunk down extra cash for the WiFi bridge to add extra speakers / Sub Bottom Line ---------------- If you're in the market for a simple, easy sound solution for a medium size TV room and also want to connect via Bluetooth and WiFi, then this is the sound bar for you. If you're picky about your setup, then I'd suggest looking into a traditional 5.1 or 7.1 setup. I'm glad I got this thing, wife's glad too - so we're happy with it!

This has exceeded all of my expectations. The movie theater called and wants their sound system back. The set up was a breeze (I did not wall mount it but the hardware to do so is included). I had it out of the box and was jamming in less than five minutes. I set it up using the optic cable (also included) and thought I would have to jack with it for a while to get my devices to all operate. That was not the case for me; all inputs had beautifully LOUD (if I choose) sound output through the sound bar. You have the option to select different sound setting such as sports, movie, music, and a couple of other that will change the clarity to better suit the event. I then downloaded the Samsung Multiroom app and again was pleasantly surprised at how it easy it was to connect via Wi-Fi and operate features. Our theater room is fairly large and the bass on this unit can rattle the back walls. The piece is stunningly sleek, sophisticated, and a monster all in one. The Bluetooth will play without buffering up to about 65 feet (my experience). There are inputs for additional option to connect other devices (in theory you could rather connect the rca cable using a w/r to aux cable -not included). The unit is amazing and simplistic while delivering a booming clear sound.

The Samsung name did it for me and the overall sound quality is worth the price.

A few years back, I invested in a premium home surround system for my living room television set-up. It’s a 5.1 stereo surround sound system that is run through a Denon audio/video receiver. Part of the reason I did this was to ensure I was able to hear what was happening on my favorite shows and movies. You see, I am hearing impaired and sometimes it’s very difficult for me to make out what’s going on through dialogue. That said, I was a little apprehensive about switching from my trusty surround sound to the Samsung SoundBar Sound+. So, here are some details about my experience. SOUND QUALITY - Because I know this is what most people want to know about a speaker set, I thought I would cover this first. Being that I am hearing impaired, crisp, clear sound is something I can be really hard for me to find. The SoundBar actually beats my Klipsch surround system in clarity. It didn’t sound like any sounds were muddled or meshed together. It was just clear even sounds. Even with complicated sound tracks like from Transformers, the sound mix was spot on. I could hear the dialogue very well. The only thing I was really missing was the ‘boom’ from my subwoofer. So, if you were looking at the two systems side-by-side, I would say that some depth is missing simply because all the sound is coming at you from the front instead of all around the room. VOLUME - This is always a part of the sound puzzle that I have some trouble with. I can’t seem to find a happy medium between where I can hear the shows and what is too loud for others in the room. The SoundBar does a pretty good job with volume, but it varies between the different modes. What I mean by this is the first test we did was to connect to the SoundBar via Bluetooth. We cranked up the volume and were completely blown away by the volume level. Then we connected to our TV through the Digital Optical cable and after we turned up our TV show to 100% on the SoundBar, we still couldn’t hear it very well. It just wasn’t as a loud as the Bluetooth mode. CONNECTIVITY - My opinion of the connection options is a little fuzzy. As I mentioned above, I was able to connect to my phone using Bluetooth and I didn’t have any issues with it. I love that that is an option with the SoundBar because it makes it easy to share music with family and friends that might be visiting. The other options include HDMI and Digital Optical. I wasn’t able to try the HDMI connection because of how my system was hooked up. But, I did try the Digital Optical connection and while it worked, I just wasn’t happy with the volume difference as I noted above. INTEGRATION WITH EXISTING SYSTEMS - During my testing I decided to try and integrate the SoundBar with my existing surround sound system. While this sounds like a good idea, it didn’t quite work for me. This could have been because of how I tried it, but there was a timing issues that caused a bit of an echo between the SoundBar and the rest of the surround sound system. If I completely ripped apart the system, I may have been able to make it work better, but as far as a quick integration, don’t expect it to work without some re-engineering of your existing system. All in all, the SoundBar is a win in my book. It’s particularly great if you don’t have an existing system because then it’s an instant amplification of the TV’s audio, which could always use a boost.
