These drive audibly take some getting used to from older lower capacity drives. As when it reads & writes it almost always sounds like its heads are slamming or clicking on something. I can say specifically it happens to the 26TB drive, as I have 2 of these exact models from different stores. They boths have the same tell tale sounds. They work absolutely fine. I have been running 1 non-stop as a plex server for over 6 months, and this one I purchased from Best Buy since I purchased it, as a backup duplicated drive of the 1st, in case it were to die. These drives are a bit loud but would make great for mass storage backup. I write lyrics for music and store all the songs on my plex server. Overall I have been absolutely satisfied with this product and would purchase again, if I could find one for sale. Sadly shortly after my 2nd purchase of this drive they seemed to have disappeared from the market except for used ones by 3rd party sellers. I can only find 24TB drives or lower. Weirdly the 24TB cost more than the 26TB drives.

A great price considering how much storage you're getting. The drive inside the 26tb model I got was a barracuda drive, if anyone cares. I was hoping for exos but barracuda is great too. I use these in my home NAS, they work flawlessly. 10/10, I will always recommend seagate drives.

The hard drive is a bit noisy, but it's working perfectly, booting up the operating system and loading files without any lag.

Holds data as needed. Speed is adequate for use as a backup drive. It's good so far but makes a random rumble sound. I put a rubber pad under it and it helped to dampen the vibration. So far so goo!

Excellent external hdd, it helps a lot to have all my backups, and it is very faster.

Shipped quickly and safely with the drive securely packaged in the box. Upon unwrapping and booting the drive, CrystalDiskInfo showed a healthy drive so I'm very pleased with my purchase for the price.

More space than I know what to do with lol, and I got it on drops so it was a steal and a half.

Decent speed and great size for the price, but I am not a fan of the enclosure itself. It being a chimney stack design like that where it has to sit on it's side for the vents makes it cumbersome and difficult to place somewhere and keep it stable--the design also makes it difficult to efficiently cool with an added fan or other. If you plan to shuck the drive then it's pretty decent if you can grab it on sale. They are supposedly made with HAMR tech inside but the details are a bit sketchy and no solid reports. It is decently noisy of a drive as well and makes me nervous listening to it work. But I have not had any actual issues in about 6 months of heavy usage as a networked media storage drive.

I am currently sitting on 6 Seagate drives ranging between 20GB - 26GB of storage that I have purchased in the past year and I have not had any problem with them so far after extensive use on all of them. Excellent storage capacity for pictures/videos/files for the price. With the cost of computer equipment climbing higher each passing day, this hard drive offers a lot of bang for your buck, especially when they are on sale for under $300 for the 26GB option. I used to buy Western Digital, but the cost of similar products can range between 50% - 100% more. The case for this drive is much cheaper in quality than that of Western Digital, but these aren't products that are supposed to be slammed into things anyways unless you have a giant spider problem or zombies enter your house.

Great amount of storage to $ value. The drive is fast and quiet. This is my third Seagate external drive, and so far, they're all working great!

The 26TB Seagate Expansion is a powerhouse for massive data hoarding and archiving, offering an unmatched cost-per-terabyte value. While its speeds are typical for a mechanical hard drive, and its desktop form factor limits portability, it is an excellent and affordable choice for local, high-capacity backups and media libraries.
Needed some more memory for files and photos before the AI Bubble expanded outwards from SSDs. Works as expected. Hoping for extended longevity.

This product performs as advertised. Although Microsoft windows reports a diminished capacity, I understand why this is. I just wish manufacturers and Microsoft would come up with a common "Yardstick" to measure drive capacity and eliminate user confusion. I use high capacity HDD's like this to back up the information stored on my 8 bay NAS. Although I am using a Raid 5 configuration, redundancy is not bulletproof, and I believe backups are critical. I like the reliability of Seagate HDD's and although they don't offer a 5 year warranty anymore, I have have Seagate drives that are well beyond the five year mark and are (other than regular maintenance scans) still running with no issues. Until SSD capacities improve and become affordable for us mortals, I will continue to recommend these drives. Note: Although the hard read/write limits of SSD's has vastly improved over the past couple of years, this is still an area (along with cost) where spinning discs still shine.

I've owned many different external drives over the years. The drive itself works flawlessly - it was tested right out of the box. However, do not use this drive if you need something 'quiet' - this drive reminds me of a circa 2005 drive based on how loud it is.

When deploying, you need as much space as possible. This hard drive is highly recommended due to its great transfer speed, silent operation, and ample storage for everything.

This is a great option for anyone who has a large game library of older games. I basically have all my older games i own on this drive. I have all of my modern games on my ssd’s. This drive gave me a lot more room on my ssd drives. No issue and it works great so far!

Great external drive! Not loud at all, quick, reliable. Can't ask for much more. Just don't drop it while it's plugged in and you're golden

[Employee of bestbuy] 26TB is insane! Super easy to set up (literally plug it in and go), and it’s fast for transferring big files. Perfect for backing up all my stuff and storing my media collection with tons of room to spare. Definitely worth it if you need a ton of space.
