We were looking for a reasonable priced yet good microwave oven for our apartment which doesn't come with built in microwave, and this was good for the price n also looks good on the counter top. We bought it in white to match other kitchen appliances! Does a good job though it's priced less

Compact and easy to use. A little better open and close switch would be nice.

Great basic microwave. Has all the basics, (auto) defrost, beverage, popcorn, pizza, reheat. And weirder settings like 'potato', actually cooks a potato well. Tried the automatic defrost for poultry, and it does cook parts of meat when defrosting larger weight portions. So keep an eye out for that.

For the price, you cannot go wrong. It is very easy to program and use. Being a lower price product, it lacks features such as interior light and lighted keypad. Also, no dedicated Timer button (it has a cook timer, of course, I am referring to the countdown clock feature use to time something other than cooking in the microwave). This non-cooking timer is activated by holding the "0" key down for a few seconds, and the timer end is just one set of beeps instead of beeping until you silence it. Overall, easy to use, great short user manual, and works perfectly with even heating. Has presets and variable power settings.

This is my second review on the Sharp Microwave oven. Just a little bit over a year, the door won't open anymore. I took it apart and discovered that one of the cheaply made plastic arm or arc that supports the lever was broken. I contacted Sharp and they did not have the replacement part. They want to charge me for another microwave oven, probably at a slightly below retail price. That means that a tiny plastic part is broken, and I have to replace the entire microwave oven?? What a waste of my money, time, and bad for the environment. Such as poor quality design and workmanship. No more sharp products anymore from now on.

Hello RGQ2014, I am very sorry to hear that your Sharp microwave has a broken part. Do you have a case number for this unit, so we can look into this for you? <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/Sharp.jpg" alt="Sharp" title="Sharp" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

I moved from an apartment that came with a microwave to one that did not. So, I need a microwave. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I don't microwave a lot. Generally just for heating water for tea or the occasional reheating of leftovers. I'm single, live alone, and generally don't cook a whole lot. Despite my limited need for a microwave, I wanted something that I could hold on to for a few years if necessary. Which is why I didn't buy the absolute cheapest available. This Sharp microwave has a clean, sleek appearance that would look nice in any space. It's not too big, but not tiny either. It doesn't have a lot of functions and features, but who really uses those things anyway? It has everything you need - clock, timer, various cook power settings and defrost options, plus the option to simply hit one button to start the microwave for 30secs cook time. (Which I've found very useful!) I've had this microwave just over a month and can't say I've experienced any problems yet. It looks nice, it works well, no complaints. I have it sitting on top of my apartment-sized fridge, works well in a small space. I think I got it for $89.99 on sale and I had some money left on a gift card too, so it turned out to be a great deal. Very happy with this microwave.

works very nicely , I got the black so the numbers are a little hard to see but then again I don't have the brightest kitchen lighting.. Not real crazy about the Auto-Cook button seems like everything I select starts at about 3 minutes no mater which one I push and they all cook at high power so I really can't set it and walk away till i figure those selections out a little better. The glass turntable is a little difficult to place exactly right on its little plastic spindle as well but overall it is a great midsize oven. I love the roundness to the back of it, it's easy to clean and fairly quiet. We use it several times a day every day.& are quite happy with it overall. Great value & quality but if your eyes or lighting are bad like mine, get the White one! LOL

I don't do alot of cooking in the microwave anymore but just reheat or frozen dinners. I had to replace my old microwave, that was much bigger and higher priced, due to mother-in-law burning it up. I was worried about going cheaper but have not missed it at all. I like the smaller size, it cooks evenly, and love the one touch buttons. Only thing I don't like is that the inside light goes off when you open the door but I've gotten used to it already. Had it a couple of months now.

For the price, this is a very impressive microwave. Has several one touch features found in pricer models. It is easy to set up and easy to use. The only thing to complain about is the light doesn't stay on when it's in use, but what the heck, it's not a tv.

i didn't need anything fancy. i don't cook entire meals in the microwave. this works exactly as described. it simple and easy to use. my only issues are the express buttons are a bit odd. i'd rather the 1 be 1min and 2 2min etc but instead it has dinner plate baked potato beverage. i've gotten used to that. My other issue is probably not a problem for most people. it is rather powerful. i live in a older house and the electrical system can't handle the pull if this runs for more that 3mins straight. I usually put it to 80% if it has to go for a long time. conversely it heats things very quickly.

Fits perfectly on my counter - heats according to packages on all frozen food I have tried. Has the add 30 sec. Button. That comes in handy. Easy to use and clean. Great value.

The Sharp R309YK microwave is great for kitchens with limited counter top space. Pros: Small size. Cooks well, plenty of power. Good quality. Cons: The light only comes on when the unit is cooking. It doesn't turn on when the door is opened. It makes it hard to look at the food to see if looks cooked without completely removing it from the microwave. The zero key is located to the right of the 6 button instead of being at the bottom of the 10 key pad. If you are used to using a normal 10 keypad, then this microwave takes some relearning to use. Even with the Cons that I listed I would still buy this unit because the build quality was much better than microwaves from the other brands that we looked at.

I moved into a place that didn't have a microwave above the range. I needed something big enough, but not so big that it wouldn't fit under my kitchen cabinets. It's powerful enough and it works like a charm and it was not at all expensive. The only thing I don't like is that setting a specific cook time isn't intuitive and I actually had to read the instructions to figure out how it worked. I'm happy with my purchase.

Easy to use, fits nicely on a counter top. Feels sturdy. Like the dark color, and cleans up easily. Very good value.

This microwave has a great deal more power than my previous one. It has several one touch buttons to make cooking in the microwave easier. The only flaw I found with the microwave was that you can only cook in increments of 30 seconds. For example, if you want to cook something for 45 seconds, you have to set it for one minute and stop it at 45.

After our previous GE Microwave bit the dust after just over a year. I made up my mind that the next one was going to be an entry level one. That's where the Sharp came into play. Fair price . Was looking for a clean looking white unit (not the off-white like some brands) and smaller size. This one works just fine so far. Used the defroster option for first time today & worked great on a 3 lb turkey breast. Hoping I get my monies worth on this one.

The size, power and look of this microwave is great for my families needs. Since our microwave sits on our counter, we were really looking for a great deal along with a sleek looking microwave. The only thing I wish this microwave had was the ability to put in the exact time you'd like to heat something up. Your only options are 30 secs - full minutes. Other than that, the power is great and I have no issues.

I needed a micowave with specific dimensions and in black at a decent prixe. It fit all of my criteria. It was the cheapest of all major cometitors (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Amazon) with the exact model # because it was on sale. The only drawback is that you can't enter a specific time to cook (ie; 45 seconds, 20 seconds). It only works in 30 second increments, needing you to stand by to make sure it doesn't overcook.

Bought this microwave for my elderly parent. It is easy to use and the size works well for heating up a plate of food. Door is easy to open and there is not an overwhelming number of buttons/options to choose from to do basic cooking. The only down side is that the interior light only comes on when food is cooking. I wish the light came on every time the door was opened.
