I have Hisense 50, 55 and 60 inch UHD Smart Screens from BB in past years. I wanted to try adding Roku as the brains this year and Best Buy and Sharp (now a Hisense brand) fit the bill perfectly. I am writing this review on the 43" which is high end of size screens I use for computing. One can always pick at the quality, because it does get better when you pay more, usually. But this 43" UHD is exceptional quality for the price. Great picture (decent sound) and great value to have Roku built in at this price point. I got this one, a 50" and a 58" Sharp Roku during Best Buys 20 days of doorbusters this year ('18) and am well satisfied with them all. Roku being new to me, I don't have the criticisms I've seen from long time Roku-ers, since these Sharp units seem to integrate it well. Tiny bit of lag moving around the interface, but hey, my 89 yo mother actually navigates around on the 50" she's trying out and that says a lot for it's ease of use and learning curve. All in all, thanks to Santa, Best Buy, and Hisense/Sharp for bringing me just what I needed this year at the price only they knew I'd be happy to pay! Another Best Buy from the folks who made it their namesake.

I love Roku and decided to upgrade an old 40” Sony Projection TV at a family vacation home. The main reason for the change was lack of HDMI ports on the Sony and the built in Roku in the Sharp. The Sharp also has a component input that TCL doesn’t have. We needed this to connect an old VCR that some family members still use for home movies. The Sharp TV has a much brighter and “sharper” picture than the old Sony. 1080p looks very good. Unfortunately, I do not have any 4K content to view. Sound is not nearly as good. Volume outside the wall unit is not great. However, putting the TV in the wall unit amplifies the volume quite a bit and helps add some bass. Still, it would benefit from a sound bar. When using the cable box, the volume is noticeable louder then when streaming. Not sure why. Sound separation is not good in Standard mode. Voices can be difficult to hear when there is music in the background in shows/movies or crowd noise for sporting events. Currently playing around with different sound modes to see which works best. At home I have a Bose Soundlink II attached to a small TV via the headphone jack. I think I’m going to try the same thing with this TV. The TV also has ARC support on the HDMI 1 port so alternately, I could go for a sound bar with ARC support. Roku features are great. I have Direct TV Now, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and MLB.tv subscriptions. All 3 stream very smoothly. The interface is very responsive like all the Roku devices I’ve used (sticks, Premiere and Ultra). The Roku experience is the same as the stand alone boxes except it gives you the additional input choices on the home screen. The TV was easy to connect to my account. I do wish I was able to use my cable TVs universal remove (Mediacom TiVo remote) to control the Roku in the TV. I can change inputs and volume and turn the TV on and off, but otherwise it is useless with the Roku functions. I need to keep 2 remotes out. I did set the TV to turn on with the cable TV input. This will make it easier for the non-tech savvy folks in the family to just watch the cable TV. All-in-all this TV was definitely worth the $240 I paid for it (Best Buy Deal of the Day). I just need to get the sound issues straightened out.

I bought this TV on sale at Best Buy for under $200. I’m on a fixed income so price was gospel when making this decision. Ok, so for that price I know I shouldn’t be expecting the highest quality available. And it isn’t. But…. For a $200 4K TV I am happy with what it is! Let’s talk about the picture. Honestly even though the tv is classified as 4k and handles 4k sources if you’re looking for ultra-crisp edges and details the picture quality really isn’t much different between UHD and HD in practice. And, if you’re expecting very dark blacks this tv comes up lacking. The best I got was a very dark grey with a light blue tint, but not true black. Colors do look great and vibrant, but no better or worse than most. I have yet to hook up my PS4 Pro (there are some things that you just can’t scrimp on, lol) so I have yet to play any video games yet on this tv so I can’t say anything about that quality of that experience As for sound, it’s acceptable in the small space I have but it does seem to need to be turned up almost all the way to really rock out a little. I’d be deaf if I tried that with my other TV, but on this I did max it out and still have my hearing intact so you may want to consider investing in a soundbar or such. In terms of ease I absolutely love the setup and app menus, they’re extremely easy to navigate and the remote is simple and straightforward. No need for 150 buttons to operate. This remote had 18, with an additional 3 on the side for volume and mute. Clean clear and concise. The only thing I wish it did have was the ability to turn the picture off while still listening to media. I find it easier to fall asleep with a little noise in the background, but with this TV there’s no way to stop the light emitted. So, it’s either no sound and darkness, or sound and flickering light that does hinder sleep slightly. Would I buy this again? Yes. If I had more money available and could do a higher class would I buy this again, probably not. Duh. But all in all, it does what it needs to do and does it acceptably well. And for $200, it lives up to my realistic expectations.

Sharp - 43" Class (42.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV Roku TV-Used this about 2 months and I’m very happy with my purchase. Roku has a lot of free channels which I have not explored all of these options. I like Pluto and Tubi and a few others that are free. I did add Hulu and Sling. Already have Pandora so added that. Very easy to set up with digital free tv channels with antenna, DVD player, USB Stick to record from tv, and laptop computer. Overall very satisfied wth my purchase.

My Rottweiler will sit here and watch TV with me for hours now. We binge-watched seven seasons of game of thrones together!! She ignored my old TV but the picture is so clear on this TV that she thinks the person (or animal) is actually standing there, not ten feet away! Great deal!!
