    Easy painless setup!

Easy painless setup! The instructions were very clear and I'm confident that this will be helpful for detecting any leaks. The leak sensor cable is generously long so we could put it next to the dishwasher and under the sink.

    Shelly always has awesome products

Shelly always has awesome products. Although this particular time felt like it was kind of expensive, for what amounts to a pretty basic flood sensor, but still, it's worth it to me to have the peace of mind of knowing I will get the alert if something leaks.

Simple setup. Great sensor rope. No concerns.

Simple setup with Home Assistant, and I run HA on a separate IOT vlan. I just had to remember to switch my phone to the IoT wifi before completing the Matter "pairing." Reviewing a leak sensor is hard, because you're preparing for an event that doesn't happen often (but almost certainly will happen to you at some point). But testing this worked well--it alerted quickly (within the 5 second sleep polling interval). It also went off once while I was installing it because I was pushing the rope against metal pretty hard while routing the other end of it; it did not alert when it was simply brushing a copper pipe. The rope sensor is awesome. I fed 3 feet of the cable through the side of the kitchen sink cabinet so it is under my dishwasher, and I looped the remaining 3 feet around the supply lines and right under the garbage disposal. Now a drip of water that touches any part of that 6 feet will alert me. I had a slow leak in a prior house--it never would have puddled enough to trigger a standard 2 prong sensor unless I got lottery lucky in my placement. That slow drip still caused some nasty damage over time. I will be buying at least two more of these, each monitoring two or three nearby water sources using the cheap extra rope sensors Shelly sells, which is also awesome. In case the site/doc is not clear, the device sleeps to save power, checking only the sensor every 5 seconds, but regularly powering up the radio to check in with whatever service you connected it to, and when it does that, it reports the battery strength which is another big advantage. I set up a simple alert (HA Automation) for low battery that will notify well before the device starts a low battery chime (because cooler night temperatures generally guarantee that will happen at 3am with any device). The hardware mounting is great; you do need to leave a bit of space over the bracket to allow the device to slide down onto it. There are only two things I'd suggest for improvement: an optional USB power input for running from an outlet until the power goes out, and a second 3.5mm jack so we could have two different labeled sensor chains, like "Dishwasher/Sink" and "Icemaker" say, so you don't have to move two appliances if you use one unit to monitor your whole kitchen, which would be easy to do with 3.5mm extensions.

Real nice product. Like that it runs off 4 AA batteries.

Overall very good, couple small things could be improved

The build quality is exceptional. I am using one integrated locally with Home Assistant and another one in a different house using the Shelly app. Both ways work great. Sensor reaction time is good. I like that it uses a moisture sensing cable instead of a puck style sensor. I also appreciate it including a short cable extension so you don't waste your water sensing cable going from the device mounted on the wall down to the floor (nice attention to detail there). Things that could be improved: Provide a way to power with 5v USB input for users with power nearby. However if the 4xAA batteries last long enough, this might not be worth the extra expense. The sensor cable is very stiff and is practically impossible to get to lay flat. I have used some more flexible cloth wrapped moisture sensor cable on some of my DIY sensors that works a little better in this respect. The cable provided with this is easier to wipe off to deactivate the alarm than the cloth wrapped stuff.

    Flood control

Paired numerous Flood Gen4 monitors with a Shelly relay to shut off well pump if a leak is detected

I don’t like how it shows no response in HomeKit after a while to conserve battery

I don’t like how it shows no response in HomeKit after a while to conserve battery. I wish it supported matter over thread and Bluetooth low energy so that it could stay connected all the time rather than showing an error in HomeKit even though I know the device itself is working.

    This Shelly flood dramatically improves…

This Shelly flood dramatically improves on the previous“puck” iteration, with standard batteries, more customizability and not dropping connection, presumably due to WiFi connection instead of BlueTooth.

Expensive but flexible... The perfect local leak sensor

Not the least expensive, but the most flexible local leak sensor. Regardless of your ecosystem, (Wifi, bluetooth, Zigbee, or Matter (over Wifi)), these sensors will work out of the box without reflashing or other annoyances. I also like the cable, My other cable leak sensors take hours to dry out, but these dry out in a few seconds. Well done!

    Not everything is perfect...

Not everything is perfect, but here's my humble opinion... the use of 4 batteries is bulky and large. They could also use a rechargeable battery, making it more compact. The sensor cable works well, but... it should allow for better adjustment, better adaptation so that it remains in complete contact with the floor. It's difficult to keep the entire cable in contact with the ground. The cable connection, to prevent it from being inadvertently disconnected, should have a thread. Even so, congratulations on your work and the progress you've made. I've been following you since the 1st generation Shelly. :-) A request: please reconsider producing a ZigBee, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi hub... a hub of your own, with your brand! Thank you!

Very good product. Works as intendedand has matter support great stuff. The only important detail is that the sensorcable comes rolled and you can't properly stretch it.

It works well and warning on handy is useful

It works well and warning on handy is useful. But there should be a possibility to switch off the alarm at the Shelly Flood with the handy. Otherwise the alarm does never stop, when you are not at home.
