Sheung-Tsz Ma / Var - Popular Chinese Piano Pieces - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Following her acclaimed Brahms on Signum Classics in May 2021, Leeds International Piano Competition Winner (2015), Anna Tsybuleva, releases a new album of Debussy's 24 Preludes pour solo piano. Tsybuleva has been described by as embodying Inchsuperb pianism and intelligent musicianshipInch (Gramophone Magazine) and InchA pianist of rare gifts not since Murray Perahia's triumph in 1972 has Leeds had a winner of this musical poise and calibreInch (International Piano Magazine). Praise for Tsybuleva on Signum Classics InchOne is speechless. As far as their performance is concerned, the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the soloist and the conductor Ruth Reinhardt are an extremely eloquent team that realizes their musical ideas together. You can hear a direct and gripping Brahms, without any airs, without frills - music that speaks to you directlyInch - Piano News Album Tracks 1. Préludes - Book 1 2. Préludes - Book 2

Their third duo album on Signum Classics, Viktoria Mullova and Alasdair Beatson perform Beethoven's Sonatas 2 and 10. Uniquely for the A Major sonata Op 12 No 2 they use a copy of an 1805 Walter (a Viennese fortepiano), and for Sonata No 10 op. 96 they use a copy of an 1819 graf, both by Paul McNulty. Together with violin strung with gut, these instruments are what Beethoven's music craves, giving a rich texture and distinct colours between the registers. ? Inch'Optimistic, ebullient and inexhaustibly inventive' is how the pianist Alasdair Beatson describes the three Beethoven sonatas on this disc - and that is exactly how they come across in these performances with the violinist Viktoria Mullova. The sense of rustic abandon they create in this work is infectiously gleeful.Inch - The Guardian ? Recording ?
